Well guys- I am so sorry I've been away for so long. Grease kicked my ass. It was worth it in the end but that was a long long long exhausting 3 months.
Anyways I'm back now and here's the stretch of the story in which I didn't plan for so...I'm probably going to really appreciate the suggestions.
Thanks for being patient all this time. On with the story.
Disclaimer: Sadly I don't own the Iron fey series.
Puck's hand rubbed slowly across my back and my eyes drooped sleepily. Blinking away a bit of the haze, I pulled away and laced my hands with his, pulling him until he laid down next to me.
We turned to each other and ended up so close our noses were just barely touching. I found those striking green eyes and Puck gave me a small confused look.
"I have to talk to you Red." I whispered, and slid one of my hands out from his to drape around his neck.
Instead of saying something sarcastic his expression remained calm and open.
"Shoot, Princess."
His breath ghosted across my lips, minty and crisp and I was at a loss.
I traced circles on the nape of his neck and took a minute to think of how to start.
Puck remained patient and he squeezed my hand encouragingly.
"Goodfellow you're infuriating. You're obnoxious, immature and so childish I honestly don't know how Ash didn't take you out centuries ago."
Puck grinned and I felt his laugh as it reverberated through his body.
"Great way to start a conversation Princess."
"Just listen for once Puck. Don't talk."
His face sombered and I gave him a pleading look.
"You're in my head Goodfellow. I just can't shake this feeling like I need..." I trailed off and closed my eyes.
"I just- there's something about you. Everything about you pulls me in. You make me feel and think about things that I've never dared to. You throw me off and you balance me again."
I opened my eyes and met Puck's sweet stare. His eyes glowed softly and a faint pink rose to my cheeks as I brought my hands back into his.
"I guess what I'm trying to say is that...well..." My voice faltered and instead of trying to vocalize my feelings I dropped the glamour masking my emotions.
Reflected in Puck's eyes were an array of colors.
Rose adoration, amber content, peach nervousness, a vermillion lust.
He took in a breath as he observed, and I slowly let him see the colors I had been hiding from the first time we'd met.
"Well shit Princess."
He focused his attention on me, his expression serious for a heart stopping minute, and my stomach plunged.
"Why didn't you just say so?"
Puck smiled genuinely, his eyes crinkling with mirth and playfulness and he chuckled at my relieved sigh. He inched closer and in an instant his expression changed. His eyelids drooped and his voice became soft.
"We could've skipped all the difficulties if you weren't so damn stubborn Princess."
His hands dropped to my waist and I sucked in a quiet breath. He pulled me even closer than we already were and his embrace warmed me inside.
"All you had to do was admit you wanted me Princess. You could've had me so much sooner."
The redhead tilted my chin upward and leaned down slightly. His hooded gaze was blazing, and so was his crimson hair.
I knew what he was going to do and this time I wasn't going to stop him.
I offered him a small encouraging smile and rose to meet him. We drew together centimeter by centimeter, moving so slowly that a day could've passed and neither one of us would have known.
As our lips began to touch, I closed my eyes, so close to what I had been waiting for.
"Elena?"
Ash's deep voice brought me out of my haze and I pulled away from Puck in surprise.
The Summer sidhe blew out an annoyed sigh and grumbled a 'really?' Before standing up and offering me a hand.
Ash's eyes narrowed as I let Puck help me up, and then widened when Puck threw an arm across my waist pulling me into him.
"Boy you sure know how to kill a mood don't you Ice-boy?" He grinned disarmingly and Ash looked to me expectantly. He stood there a moment, recounting the way he'd found us before and realization dawned on him, plainly written on his face. The Winter Prince stared for a second then regained his cool composure.
"So I assume all has been cleared Goodfellow?" His voice had a hard edge to it that left no room for humor.
"Crystal."
Puck's grin stayed firmly in place as he and Ash had some sort of unspoken conversation.
Finally both boys faces softened and they looked at me.
"Elena?" Ash said in that quiet tone reserved for special occasions.
I looked up at Goodfellow and his half-smile back to me gave me a boost of confidence. I stepped away from him and towards Ash. I took the Prince's cool hand and smiled at him, leading him away from the Summer Jester.
"Come. We have a lot to talk about."
There y'all go. I hope you guys liked it and the next chapter is in the works. Leave many reviews and suggestions. I appreciate it and until next time.
Love you guys
