Chapter 25

Silver and Gold

Npov

I stood high above the village on the head of my father, the fourth hokage. Kakashi was down in the hokage tower dealing with some puzzling reports that had been coming in over the last weeks since the boss monster's death. It's not like we had not made sure that the village and the fire nation wasn't safe before returning home.

We knew now for sure that the monsters that had been plaguing us were dead. Ninja had been combing the area after the smoke from the volcano had cleared. A huge skeleton that was half melted was found at the base of the volcano. It was as if the monster had somehow climbed out but had still died of its wounds or maybe the volcano had shot it out like a piece of rock. Not that it had mattered to me anymore; no I had something else on my mind. Something that was impossible but still it was happening. I wished I had the old fox to talk too. He would know what was going on, how it had happened and whether it had happened before and if so what should we expect with it.

Suddenly a red cloud form in front of me and the huge head of a fox appeared before me. Its eyes bright and full of knowing, as if I would not have to say a thing about what was happening to me.

"My dear kit. What have you gone and done now?" said the giant fox.

"It wasn't planned. We didn't even think it was possible. I mean we are..." I started to say before the nine - tails cut me off.

"Oh it is possible and it happens to a lot of demons. Although they are usually much older before they are strong enough to pull this off".

"Older? Does this mean I should do something about this" I asked him

"No. It will be fine. You're young and strong, in both forms. All we are well. The time will be shorter than normal but that will not cause any harm" he said.

I breathed in a sigh of relief I did not want anything to harm anyone. We had, had enough of that for many life times and I had many of those to look forward too.

"Is there anything else? My time in this realm grows short and as much as I want to be here when you tell him, but I will not last that long. Oh but there is something I should say" he said looking down at me.

"What is it?" I asked.

What else did I have to know about this thing? What else was going to happen to me and to Kakashi? How was this going to affect our lives now?

"When the time is near. Go into the forest and stay in your fox form it will make the whole thing go much smoother. The pain will still be there but it will be easier on you" he said.

"That's good to know is there anything else like that I should know before you go back." I asked.

"No not really. Most you will work out over time. I see your lover coming up now but my time is gone, but I will be back to see the outcome of what you tell him" He said before disappearing in a red cloud.

Kakashi came up looking at little confused about what the two of us were talking about as he only caught the last of the conversation as did not know what it was about.

Kashi knew that my actions of late been a little strange to say the least. I would want to make love to him more and more, as if my body was craving it. Then at other times I would growl and just about rip his balls off, if he came anywhere near me.

This time however I ran and threw myself into his arms. They closed strongly about me. For a long moment the two of us stood embracing fiercely, rocking in each other arms, then mutely Kashi took his hand from behind my back and took his mask off and lowered his lips on to mine with a world forgetting kiss.

"What is it my love?" Kashi asked once we had parted. He had obviously had been worried about me and now I knew I had to tell him what it was. I could not let this go on any longer, not if I was going sometime in the near future disappear on him for a while.

But first I had to get what was on my chest off first. I just stared intently at Kakashi and said "My past will never leave me but maybe someday I'll be free of it because I must believe it for the new family I have".

"And I'll help you with that because I am a protector. That's my job. Not just over the village but over your heart as well" He said holding me tighter.

"Not just the village and my heart, my silver fox" I said with a sly smile

"And what do you mean by that?" Kakashi asked.

"I am pregnant. You're going to be a father" I said

I could see his face drop in disbelief but before he could say anything I caught his mouth in a kiss. I wanted to tell him how much this meant to me. How much he meant to me. How much he'd sacrificed and how much I could not repay him for. How much I was looking forward to the new life that we were just about to start.

So a perfect night in bed would have to do, as I felt his arms tighten again around me as the news caught up to his mind. I would now have the family that I needed when I was growing up and this child would want for nothing I would see to that. My nightmare was at an end.

An: so this is the end of the silver fox story. I have one planned for Naruto's past before he came back to the village (that was time lined before I started the fox series) it will show up soon maybe in the next couple of months (I have to finish school first, once on Christmas break it will be easier to write). I want to write the book after this one dealing with Naru's baby but have no ideas please if you have any ideas about how I can write this please tell me, help is so helpful that I could not put it into words.

Review and see you again.
