Author's Notes: Hey guys, its Logan GC, and welcome back to another chapter of A New Destiny. This one will be a bit on the shorter side as the perspective will be switched to the Star Wars universe. Don't worry though, the one after will return back to Earth and Galen having to fulfill his end of the bargain. But, I want that chapter to be as good as possible, because drama is perfection. So, I hope a return to our favorite galaxy far, far away will be worth it for now.

But before that, I see there are some questions from the latest chapter. Eecobeo, if I remember correctly Galen does meet Artemis' mother in an earlier chapter. As for Galen helping her to walk again, I think that's above Galen's ability, at least to my knowledge on the Expanded Universe. As for Artemis entering a dark side cave… that's an interesting idea. I'll definitely keep that in mind. Spiderfan626, unfortunately I haven't been able to watch the new season of Young Justice. I don't have the DC streaming service but I've seen the new season on iTunes. When I have the time, I'll be sure to give the new season a watch. Guest, for the most part, I would want to follow Legends as the current canon under Disney is lacking in comparison. But, I could blend aspects of Legends and Canon together. It just depends on how it fits the story, if that makes any sense. But for the most part, Legends takes priority here.

Anyway, those are the questions that I found. I hope I answered all of them, and if any of you guys have any more, please let me know in the review section. So enough of me rambling, and let's continue on with the story. Enjoy.

Chapter 30: Priorities

Dantooine

Juno Eclipse sighs in exasperation as she leans against a wall adjacent to a meeting room where the heads of the Rebel Alliance discuss the next plan of attack. Ever since their discovery of this disturbance in the galaxy, the last several weeks have been debate after debate over what to do next. Some of the more proactive members like Garm Bel Iblis argue that this is the Rebellion's opportunity to retake key sectors of the galaxy, as a substantial portion of the Imperial navy is stationed by the disturbance. Others like Mon Mothma and Rahm Kota argue on a moral sense, with the Jedi general adamant that there are defenseless planets that the Empire is planning to invade. Bail Organa wanted to maintain a discreet profile, arguing that either being more aggressive or investigating what the Empire is doing would draw attention.

In summary, the head of the Rebellion is deadlocked over how to proceed going forward. The blonde captain chuckled at the thought, comparing this lack of action to how bureaucratic the Imperial high command at times without Vader breathing down their neck. Still, at least the inaction gave the former Imperial officer time to relax and calm down. With how drastic her life changed over the last year, a little peace will do the spirits good. I wonder if that's how the Jedi do it? She internally asked herself, wondering if Galen ever relaxed under Vader…

Her thoughts ended as Rahm Kota exits the meeting room, a hard glare present on his war-weary face. It didn't take Jedi powers for Juno to know he was in a bad mood.

"Let me guess, no decision yet?" The blonde woman asks, standing to her full height as she follows the angered Jedi down a hallway.

"The fools." Kota mutters, clearly agitated that hours of debating went absolutely nowhere… again. "I told them how this tear in the galaxy is unnatural! I told them that the Empire's involvement will only hurt us in the long run! And what do they do? Nothing!" The Clone War veteran growls, his voice going louder as he vents to Juno. "Half either believe it is not our problem and we should focus on retaking sectors, while the other wants to still go unnoticed." Kota ends his sentence with a sigh, stopping in his tracks as milky, glazed eyes stare past the former Imperial. "We can not stand by and allow the Empire to enter that tear. The damage of tempering reality could be catastrophic."

Juno nods at his logic, pulling a lose strand of blonde hair behind one of her ears. "I agree. Whatever the Empire is planning, it won't be good." She agrees, as a dread thought went through her mind that the Imperials desire to enlarge that wormhole. The potential result would put any war crime to shame.

Sensing her thoughts, Kota's anger dissipates. "Even if they aren't seeing the bigger picture, they are scared." The general explains, his facial features a combination of annoyance, frustration, and sympathy. "With this information, they would rather perform usual operations instead of going into the unknown." Kota remarks before casting a glance down the hall where the meeting took place. "The rebel high command better think of something soon, otherwise I'll do something they might regret."

Even though Kota said this in the utmost seriousness, Juno couldn't help but remark. "I thought Jedi were supposed to be calm and collected, instead of going straight into things?"

Kota gave a quiet chuckle. "I'm not what you would call a traditional Jedi, Juno. There's a reason why I never had clones in my militia." The Jedi boasted, a sense of pride radiating from the older man. "I trust my instincts before, and I would trust them again."

"And that's the point of contention, Rahm." A voice interrupted causing both Juno and Kota to turn at the voice entering the hall. It belonged to Bail Organa, the senator from Alderaan standing a few feet away, stress wrinkles appearing on his forehead. "Sometimes, your instincts can have us overextended. Why else are we deadlocked right now?"

Kota scoffs. "I wouldn't stress this if it wasn't important, Bail." The Jedi general replies, crossing his arms. "The tear in reality is unnatural. This is a priority. Sticking our heads in the sand won't fix this."

Bail sighs. "I understand, Rahm. But, what would you expect the Alliance to do?" The Senator asks as he gestures an arm to Juno. "Captain Eclipse has informed us that almost half of the Imperial navy is near Ryloth." He reminds Kota before lowering his arm and shaking his head. "We don't have the numbers to attack the navy there. If we committed to a surprise attack, their firepower would annihilate our fleet."

Kota says nothing, thinking over Bail's words. Logistically, Organa's words made sense. The Imperial fleet stationed near the wormhole outnumbered the combined Alliance navy. Even if the would be battle is evenly matched, the Imperials could contact the rest of the armada and box them in.

In the silence, Juno speaks out. "What if a frontal assault isn't necessary?" She asks, getting the attention of the Senator and the Jedi. "Would an infiltration mission be preferred instead?" The blonde captain adds, with Kota becoming more intrigued by the second.

"What are you suggesting, Juno?" The Jedi general asks, an eyebrow raised in curiosity.

The former Imperial continues. "We know that many of the Alliance membership are hesitant to attack the Imperial navy, and many of them do not want to go near the wormhole." Juno explains before taking a breath. "What if we send a team to infiltrate the Imperial navy. The Rogue Shadow has a cloaking device. I can pilot a small team to enter one of the star destroyers, hack one of the computer terminals to gain information over what the Empire is planning, and get out." She adds, before a smile stretches her features. "The Empire wouldn't even know we were there."

Kota strokes his chin in contemplation, considering the younger woman's words. "That might work, Bail." He agrees, turning his attention to the Senator from Alderaan. "I could go too. Leading operations like this is how I waged guerrilla tactics against the Empire for years."

With both sets of eyes landing on Bail, the olive-skinned man relents. "You do realize that should this be an operation, this is high risk. The odds for rescue are little to none, if you get caught. The Alliance will not sacrifice ships to rescue a small team." He reminds the pair, the look in his dark eyes being upmost serious.

Juno's smile lessens but maintains a confident demeanor, refusing to show fear over how catastrophic the mission might go. "I understand the risk, Senator. But if Kota is right about this wormhole potentially affecting the whole galaxy, we should do something before the Empire makes things worse." The blonde replies, a look of determination set in her eyes. Juno made a lot of mistakes being in the Empire, and she still has a lot to atone for.

Seeing Juno's will cause Kota to smirk, glossy, milky eyes turning to Bail. "You know where my position is. I agree with her plan." The elder Jedi states, standing by the former Imperial.

Bail's frown lessens but nods at their decision. "Very well. I'll talk with the leadership about this plan." Organa admits, as Juno's smile brightens at the man's decision. "In the meantime, I suggest you two prepare this team of yours." The Senator from Alderaan then turns his heel, intent of planning another meeting with the Alliance leadership. "You'll need as much help as you can get." Bail adds before disappearing down the hall, and leaving the two alone.

For a few moments there was silence, Juno crossing her arms across her chest as she considers the Senator's words. Turning to Kota, the blonde woman speaks. "Do you think this is the right course of action, Kota? That we're making the right choice?"

Kota's confident grin remains. "We are, Juno. Trust in the Force and our success is guaranteed." The older man replies, his fatherly grin on his features present in assurance.

At his words, Juno's smirk from earlier resurfaces. "Then we shouldn't lose." She remarks, the two walking down the hall from Bail's exit. "Although, we need some brave souls for the mission ahead." She remarks, wondering how many rebels would volunteer for such an operation.

Kota chuckles. "I have a few candidates in mind…"

Star Destroyer Executor

Darth Vader kneels in front of a holographic transmission of his master, Emperor Palpatine. The Sith apprentice is on one knee in absolute deference, showing his place to the Dark Lord of the Sith. "You have contacted me, Master?" Darth Vader asks, his tone indicating respect even through Vader's modulated voice.

Emperor Palpatine, also known by his Sith name as Darth Sidious, looks down at his apprentice. "Lord Vader, what news of the bounty hunter in this other dimension?" The Sith Master requests, his yellow Sith eyes still shown under his dark hood.

"The bounty hunter is still pursuing the boy, my Master." Darth Vader reports, his dark helmet looking up to the Emperor. "Apparently, the boy has aligned himself with the defenders on the planet Earth. They are proving quite… bothersome."

The Emperor regards his apprentice before speaking. "And should he fail, is the fleet preparing to invade?"

Vader nods. "Technology concerning the crossing of universes is near completion, my Master. Although the defenders of Earth are persistent, the planet has no hyperspace capabilities." The Fist of the Emperor informs in confidence. "I am confident that should Boba Fett fail, Earth stands little chance against our invasion force."

Palpatine hums at his response. "It would be beneficial if the bounty hunter succeeds. We are risking much on this endeavor, Lord Vader. The Rebellion continues to plot against us."

Darth Vader considers the elder Sith's words. "The rebels remain inactive, my Master. Perhaps they are in hiding."

The Emperor's frown remains. "Perhaps." He admits before the ruler of the galaxy leans forward in the transmission. "Unless the bounty hunter fails, the fleet shall remain here. We should not spread our forces too thin until the Death Star is fully operational."

Vader bows his head. "As you wish, my Master." The Sith apprentice responds as the Emperor gives one satisfied smirk before the transmission ends. Standing to his full height, Darth Vader walks down the halls of his star destroyer, intent on contacting Boba Fett on potential progress.

Going to the bridge, Darth Vader holds the inter-dimensional transmitter in his hand and with one mechanical finger, press down. After a few moments, a holographic image of Boba Fett appears.

"Greetings, Lord Vader. What an unexpected pleasure." The Mandalorian complimented, though the Sith Lord was in no mood.

"You may dispense with the pleasantries, bounty hunter." Darth Vader interrupted, getting to the point immediately. "The Emperor has questioned your progress on Earth. Your prolonged stay on the planet has raised concerns."

Boba Fett nods at his words. "I understand your worries, Lord Vader. But I assure you, the boy is more vulnerable than you realize."

At his cryptic wording, Darth Vader's eyes narrow beneath his mask. "Explain." The Dark Lord orders.

"The boy, he has no memory of who he is." The bounty hunter reveals, causing the Sith Lord to remain silent. Starkiller lost his memory? Perhaps his survival in the alternate galaxy came at a cost. This is new information indeed. How curious…

"How do you know this, Fett? Are you certain?" Darth Vader asks, wanting to be sure if this information is not exaggerated.

The Mandalorian nods. "My men encountered the boy recently in Gotham City. During the engagement, the Jedi unknowingly gave information to Captain Targo of his amnesia. He has no memory of where he came from, what he is."

Darth Vader considers the words. Starkiller has no memory of his past? This information could provide a substantial advantage. "And thus, the boy has no memory of the Empire?" The Sith Lord asks, voice containing restrained curiosity.

Darth Vader could imagine the satisfied smirk underneath Fett's helmet. "No, he doesn't." The Mandalorian confirms.

The Sith nods in approval. "Very well. Find the boy quickly, bounty hunter. If he does have no memory of who he was, capture him quickly. Your credits are waiting for you. If you fail…" Vader pauses, allowing the threat to linger before continuing. "…you should flee Earth if the invasion fleet of the Empire is ready."

"I won't fail, Lord Vader." Boba Fett replied, no ounce of fear being present in the bounty hunter's voice. "You will get your prize."

"Then finish your mission." Vader replied before ending the transmission, leaving the Sith Lord by himself on the bridge. Placing both arms behind his back, Darth Vader gazes at the cosmos, looking particular in the direction of the tear in reality.

Sooner or later, Starkiller shall be under his control once again. And with him, the Earth shall fall too.

Other Notes: So yeah, this one's a bit of a shorty but also important. Juno and Kota are forming a small team to infiltrate a ship over Ryloth and Vader knows of Galen's amnesia. The next chapter will definitely make a return for a longer format because the next one is filled with drama, among other things. I just thought a break from the Earth portion was necessary to see how things are in our favorite galaxy at the moment.

I do need some time to work things out so my next update could be another two or three months. I definitely don't want to rush out the next chapter and I want it to be worth the wait. Getting the next one right is my number one priority.

Thank you all once again for your support for A New Destiny. I wouldn't have made it this far without all of your comments, reviews, and criticisms. I do plan to finish two or three more chapters before the year ends but I have to see how my schedule is. Please, let me know in the review section what did you think of this chapter and what did you guys think of shorter chapters coming back. Do you guys prefer the longer ones or is a balance between the two types more preferable? Let me know, I'm very curious.

Again, thank all of you for reading and I'll see all of you in the next update. As always, this is Logan GC signing off and have a nice day.
