A/N: Welcome to the TWENTY-SECOND chapter of Abnormal Childhood where we will conclude the second season of DBZ as Goku takes on Captain Ginyu. So, without further ado, I turn it over to my spunky Saiyan warrior. Enjoy!

"What do we do now?" asked Gohan.

"Yeah, where do we go from here?" inquired Krillin.

Goku thought for a moment then looked at Vegeta. "Hey, Vegeta. You know Frieza and the others a lot better than us. How would you suggest we approach the situation?"

Vegeta smirked. "Oh, it's quite simple. All you have to do is finish Frieza."

"You don't think I could do it, do ya?" guessed Goku. "I know, King Kai warned me about Frieza as well and told me to stay away from him at all costs."

"Good advice," replied Vegeta.

"But heck, if we can get the Dragon Balls and wish our friends from Earth back, we might have a chance," mused Goku.

"Your friends from Earth?" sneered Vegeta. "You think they're gonna tip the scales in your favor? You're out of your mind, but I have an idea. Let me wish for immortality and we'll win for sure."

I rolled my eyes. "God, you're like a broken record."

"You can forget that!" shouted Krillin. "There's no way we're gonna create an immortal Vegeta to go around terrorizing the universe!"

"Heh," said Vegeta as we sensed two strong fighters approaching.

"Two big powers coming," noted Krillin unnecessarily.

"Oh great," muttered Gohan. "They're heading right for us, aren't they?"

"You'd better believe it," confirmed Vegeta. "Jeice, the one your dad let go is coming back with Captain Ginyu. Oh, now you've done it, Kakarrot. You're not having any regrets, are you?"

"Hey, shut up!" ordered Krillin. "We're here for you, Goku. You just tell us what to do and we'll do it."

"Wait a second, if those guys are coming here," murmured Vegeta. "And I can't sense Frieza over there where the ship is…Kakarrot, quick! Help me locate Frieza."

Goku nodded. "Right. No problem."

"I don't get it," admitted Krillin. "What's the big deal?"

"I think I know. Vegeta's wondering if the Dragon Balls are being left unguarded," I figured.

"Hmph, the girl is right," acknowledged Vegeta. "The Dragon Balls are at their spaceship and Frieza isn't there for some reason."

"And the other two are leaving them unprotected to come deal with us," I finished.

Vegeta inclined his head. "Precisely."

"There's a huge power in that direction, but it's pretty far off," Goku announced, pointing. "That's him. It's unmistakable now."

Gohan paled. "Uh oh. That's Guru's place."

"This is not good," stated Krillin. "Guru's old. He can't defend himself."

"And that's not all," replied Goku.

"That's right! Guru created the Dragon Balls so when Frieza destroys him that means the Dragon Balls are history as well," realized Krillin.

"Say what?!" exclaimed Vegeta. "You mean if some old Namek dies, the Dragon Balls will vanish?!"

"All things must pass. Not even the Dragon Balls last forever," Goku told him.

"Hey, wait. Frieza wouldn't hurt Guru if he knew," pointed out Krillin. "But he doesn't know."

"Poor Guru," said Gohan. "He wouldn't tell Frieza either. He'd rather die than let the Dragon Balls be used for any kind of evil. I wish there was some way for us to help. He's so good. He reminds you of a grandfather or something. How could anyone want to hurt such a great guy?"

"What world do you live in?!" demanded Vegeta.

"Leave him alone," I warned him.

"Cool it, you guys," advised Goku. "We have company."

Jeice and Captain Ginyu appeared and landed in front of us.

"Meet the boss, mate," crowed Jeice. "His name is Captain Ginyu and he'd like to have a few words with you concerning our encounter earlier."

"Hey, Goku. I think now would be a good time for a plan," suggested Krillin.

"Krillin, you and Gohan and Lorren are gonna take off," Goku told him. "Get the Dragon Radar and see if you can get your hands on the Dragon Balls. You can do it. Get the radar then go get the Dragon Balls."

"What about you, Dad?" asked Gohan. "You know there's no way we can leave you here all by yourself."

"I'll be fine, Gohan," Goku assured him. "Just concentrate on doing your part."

"Goku, you're enjoying this in some strange way, aren't ya?" guessed Krillin.

"Kind of," confirmed Goku, making me smile.

"Let's get out of here and let Goku do his thing, you two," said Krillin. "Don't forget, we've got our own mission to finish."

Gohan nodded. "Piccolo and the others."

"Now you're talking, you guys," agreed Goku before turning to Vegeta. "You have a part in the plan too if that's okay with you. I was hoping we could join forces and work together against those guys. Well, how does that sound to you, Vegeta? Will you do it?"

"Yeah, sure," replied Vegeta, smirking. "Why not?"

"You're gonna trust him?!" yelled Krillin.

"Goku…," I murmured.

"Guys, there's no time! Now let's go!" urged Goku.

"Okay," I acknowledged.

"We're on it," responded Gohan.

"You got it, Goku," said Krillin and we took off. "I don't know why Goku has to trust that guy."

"Honestly, it would be really cool if he could," I admitted. "But I don't trust Vegeta either."

"I hear ya. It's too risky," Gohan concurred.

"After we find the balls, we need to ditch them somewhere and find Guru," advised Krillin. "Then we'll have to cross our fingers and hope we'll make it back to the Dragon Balls with the password before Frieza finds us."

"Isn't that the place over there?" inquired Gohan after we had flown for a while.

"I don't know. It all looks the same to me," replied Krillin as we came upon it. "Hey, you were right, Gohan! This is it!"

"Mom? We're back," I called as we landed, but she wasn't there. "Where did she go?"

Krillin shrugged and looked around, but there was still no sign of Mom. "Guess she really isn't here."

"The radar's gone too," I realized. "Mom must have taken it with her."

"Hey guys, check this out," urged Gohan, pointing to marks on the ground.

"Tracks," I murmured, suddenly feeling sick. "Darn it, Mom."

"Oh great," muttered Krillin. "A ruthless killer's about to find the key to immortality and she's out cruising somewhere."

I stared at him. "Don't you get it, Krillin? She's gone after the Dragon Balls!"

Krillin frowned. "Come on. We gotta find her!"

"She better be alright," I said as we took off and found Mom on her butt, cowering in fear.

"No! Don't come near me, you hideous creature!" screamed Mom, flinging dirt at Krillin. "Get away and leave me alone or I'll be forced to-Huh?"

Mom stopped as she discovered it was us.

I smirked. "She's fine."

"Lorren, is that you?" she asked.

"The one and only," I confirmed then laughed with Gohan at Krillin's sorry state.

"Hey, give me a break," grumbled Krillin. "It's not funny."

"Yes, it is," I replied, still laughing.

Krillin dusted himself off. "Man, you try to give someone a hand and this is the thanks you get."

"Well, look who finally shows up!" shouted Mom, getting to her feet. "Last time I saw you three was when you were going to get the Dragon Balls and you said you'd be right back! You realize how many times I've heard that one?! Well, I'm sick and tired of waiting by myself! From now on, I'm in charge and if you don't like it, that's tough! Any questions?!"

"Come on, it's not like we were avoiding you," Krillin assured her. "We were busy, that's all."

I nodded. "A lot has happened."

"We've been working really hard to get the Dragon Balls back and we'll get them soon," Gohan informed Mom.

"You don't even have the Dragon Balls?!" exclaimed Mom. "And here I am waiting to be chased by every wild beast imaginable and you come back empty handed?!"

I glanced at Krillin. "You want to take this one?"

Krillin sighed. "We are sorry, at least I think."

Meanwhile I fished the radar out of Mom's coat pocket and turned it on. "Look, you guys. The balls aren't far away."

"According to the radar, they're over in that direction," noted Gohan, pointing.

"Let's go," said Krillin and we started to fly away.

"Wait!" cried Mom, making us stop and stare back at her. "Where are you going? You can't just leave me here again!"

"Sorry, Mom," I apologized. "But this is important."

"Don't worry, we'll be back in no time," Gohan told her.

"Go back to the campsite," advised Krillin. "We'll meet you there, okay?"

"Love you," I called.

"Oh yeah," said Gohan, suddenly smiling. "I almost forgot. I saw my father."

Mom's blue eyes lit up. "What? Are you serious?"

"Mhm," I acknowledged as we set out.

~ Abnormal Childhood ~

"The Dragon Balls are at 12 o'clock," I announced as Frieza's ship came into view. 'There. You guys see it?"

"I'm locked on and ready to kick butt," responded Krillin as Gohan nodded.

I smirked. "Sounds good to me."

"Let's get down there and find them," Krillin told us. "Before anyone shows up."

"Wait a second, Krillin, will ya?" murmured Gohan as he and I looked at the radar together. "According to the Dragon Radar, the balls are down there all right, but they're not located inside the ship."

"Gohan's right," I confirmed as we landed.

"Which way, you two?" asked Krillin.

"It looks like this way," Gohan said as we walked away from the ship. "The signal's getting stronger. Someone must have buried them right here."

"It looks like the ground has been recently dug up," remarked Krillin. "I wonder how deep they're buried."

"Only one way to find out," I replied.

"Yep, let's start digging!" urged Krillin as we dug up the balls. "Who would have thought? We've found all seven!"

Gohan grinned. "It's been such a long time since we started. I don't know what to wish for."

"I do," declared Krillin.

"Me too," I agreed.

"Let's summon the Dragon because we got some wishing to do," said Krillin. "So, Gohan, are you ready to bring Piccolo back to the living?"

"Yes," confirmed Gohan.

"I summon the Dragon!" yelled Krillin. "I command you now! Hear my howl to make my wish come true!"

"Nothing's happening," I noted after a few moments.

"But why?" demanded Krillin. "We have all seven Dragon Balls!"

"Wait, didn't Dad say there was a password?" remembered Gohan.

"It's probably in Namekian too," I figured.

"What now?" Krillin wondered aloud.

"I think I hear someone coming," Gohan told us.

"And there's two of them," noted Krillin. "You think the Ginyu Force followed us here?"

"If they did, that means they defeated my dad!" realized Gohan.

"I don't like this!" stated Krillin. "Something's wrong. If they're coming here, then what happened between them and Goku? Come on, you two."

We hid behind some rocks as Goku and Jeice arrived.

Krillin laughed at the sight of his old friend and revealed himself. "Hey Goku, it's me, Krillin!"

"Krillin, wait!" I yelled, getting a bad feeling.

Krillin ignored me. "We were really worried about you. What took you so long? Boy, for a second there I thought you were that Captain Ginyu guy, but you must have taken care of him, right?"

"First of all, Captain Ginyu was a worthy opponent," said Goku. "Now, how did you find the Balls?"

"Would you quit kidding around, Goku?" replied Krillin. "You know good and well we used the Dragon Radar to find them."

"A Dragon Radar?" repeated Jeice. "What the heck is that?"

"So, Krillin," continued Goku. "Have you made your wish?"

"We didn't know the password," revealed Krillin. "Hey, do you know what it is, Goku?"

"This is bad," I murmured to Gohan. "Something weird is going on."

"Maybe," Goku was saying, smirking. "Why don't I try?"

Krillin cocked his head to the side. "Are you sure you're feeling alright? I mean, you sound kind of strange. Is everything okay? And am I missing something? What are you doing hanging around with Jeice? Isn't he the enemy or did he switch sides?"

"Hey, Krillin, that guy isn't my father!" shouted Gohan.

"Watch out!" I cried as Fake Goku slapped Krillin who quickly recovered.

"I see you're tougher than you look," remarked the imposter. "But I'm not interested in you runts. I could easily dispose of all three of you in an instant."

"What do you mean he's not your dad?" Krillin demanded of Gohan.

"You gotta trust me," responded Gohan. "When I look at his eyes, I can just tell."

Fake Goku laughed. "Very perceptive, kid. Let's just say I'm taking your dad's body for a test drive."

"Now I know why that voice sounded familiar," I said. "Goku must have gotten switched with Ginyu. Where is Goku?"

"If I knew, I'd tell ya," replied Ginyu. "Let's just say I'm going to do to you twerps what I did to him."

Ginyu ran at us and punched us. We dodged into the air as an injured Goku appeared. "Well, well, look what the cat dragged in. You are one tough, customer."

"Krillin, Gohan, Lorren, listen to me," shouted Goku. "Be careful. Captain Ginyu has taken over my body. You must defeat him right away."

"What? Are you out of your mind?" demanded Krillin.

Ginyu smiled. "I gotta agree with Baldy here. I estimate my new body has a strength of 180,000. No one will stand a chance!"

"That's what you think, Captain Cady," shot back Goku. "Because I understand that body you're in a whole lot better than you ever will and you'll never get maximum strength without knowing the secret of body and soul."

Ginyu sneered at Goku and powered up. "Hey, Jeice! Give them a readout of my strength now!"

"You're at 23,000, Captain," reported Jeice. I burst out laughing.

"Now you three are toast!" announced Ginyu.

"I'm terrified," I responded, still laughing as Ginyu did a double take.

"23?" He exclaimed.

Jeice nodded. "And getting weaker."

I smirked. "That's what you call karma, mate."

Krillin hit Ginyu towards me and I kicked him to Gohan who froze.

"Get him, Gohan!" ordered Krillin. "What are you waiting for?!"

"But it's Daddy," murmured Gohan.

"Attack, Gohan!" I urged as Ginyu struck Gohan. "Gohan!"

Krillin caught him.

"Are you okay?" I asked. Gohan nodded.

"I know how you feel. It's hard to fight this guy when he's inside your dad's body, but get it through your head, Gohan! This is not your father!" Krillin told him. "Understand?"

"K. I think I'm ready," said Gohan after a minute and the three of us attacked Ginyu together. We punched him in the stomach and kicked Ginyu into the ship.

Ginyu then growled at Jeice to help him but Vegeta snuck up behind White Hair.

"Let's finish this," I suggested as we battled on, taking and receiving hits.

"What's going on?" demanded Krillin. "Isn't he supposed to be losing strength?"

"He was at first," I replied as Ginyu fired at Gohan, blasting him away before preparing to fire again. "Gohan, move!"

Thankfully Goku punched the blast away.

"Both of you should have been annihilated," declared Ginyu.

Goku smiled. "Sorry to disappoint you but I've learned how your body works too and now you'll have to contend with me. Now let's see what you can do when it's four fighters you're trying to bully around. Game over, Ginyu!"

Vegeta killed Jeice causing all of us to look at him.

"Vegeta, no!" reprimanded Goku. "That kind of violence is pointless!"

"Thanks for the critique, Kakarrot," sneered Vegeta. "But would you mind not butting in? So far, I've done pretty well looking after myself. You see, Super Saiyans tend to be a bit violent."

"Super Saiyan?" I repeated, cocking a dark eyebrow.

"You're no Super Saiyan!" retorted Ginyu.

"You question me, you body snatcher?" demanded Vegeta as he started to fight Ginyu. "Well, I guess I'll just show you then."

Vegeta overwhelmed Ginyu sending him to the ground on his back.

"That's enough, Vegeta!" yelled Goku as Vegeta continued his assault. "He can't fight back!"

Ginyu then emitted a weird energy. "Change now!"

"Vegeta, look out!" warned Goku as he got in between them.

"What's this?" exclaimed Ginyu. "My old body? It's you!"

Goku grinned from where he lay. "Yep, I dd it. I got my body back."

"Hey look, you guys! It's my dad!" remarked Gohan. "I'm sure of it. My dad's back in his own body again."

Ginyu returned his attention to Vegeta. "Come here, hot shot. I want a piece of you."

"Over my dead body!" declared Goku as he managed to stand and fire a Kamehameha but missed Ginyu by a mile. "Man, I'm just not in control of all of my powers yet."

"I was afraid of that," I muttered while Goku fell back down. "Goku's body's too injured."

"Pathetic Saiyan. You lose and I win," jeered Ginyu as Vegeta flew at him.

"Wait, you idiot!" I yelled.

Ginyu began his technique. Vegeta disappeared and reappeared behind Ginyu, hitting and blasting him.

"Don't you get it, Vegeta?" asked Goku. "Ginyu's letting you win to switch with your body."

"He has a brain, but he doesn't use it all of the time and now he's playing right into Ginyu's hands," I noted as Ginyu goaded Vegeta then prepared to change.

"This better work," muttered Goku as he threw a frog into the beam, making Ginyu switch with it instead of Vegeta. "I can't believe it worked."

I sighed with relief as we headed over to Goku. "Nice job, Goku."

"Are you alright?" inquired Krillin as he and Gohan picked Goku up while Vegeta tormented the new and improved Captain Ginyu.

"Get a look of that, would ya?" said Goku. "I'd say Vegeta finally has someone his own size to pick on."

"Hmph. Whatever," replied Vegeta. "Maybe I'll let it go. It's not like I wanna get toad guts all over my nice clean boots."

Goku cried in pain.

"You need medical treatment," I stated unnecessarily. "And fast."

"Yeah, but how?" mused Gohan as Goku assured us he was fine.

Vegeta laughed. "You know destroying you weaklings would be like shooting fish in a barrel?"

"Do you ever shut up?" I shot back, glaring at him.

"No, he won't hurt Krillin," argued Goku. "Not if he wants to get his wish from the Dragon Balls."

"You know me too well, Kakarrot," responded Vegeta. "Besides, I may need your Super Saiyan powers to help me take out Frieza who's probably already on his way here. Follow me."

"Where are we going?" demanded Krillin.

"We're going to the spaceship," Vegeta informed us. "And bring Kakarrot with you. Well, what's taking so long?"

"Can't you see how badly Goku is hurt?" Krillin reminded him.

"Well, if you three would step on it and get him into the ship, we could change that," revealed Vegeta.

"Yeah, how?" I asked but Vegeta flew inside. "Someday you won't be able to ignore me."

"What should we do?" murmured Gohan.

"Trust him," replied Goku. "Think about it, right now we aren't Vegeta's enemy, Frieza is."

We looked at each other, nodded, and got Goku inside.

"Come on, hurry up!" barked Vegeta as we walked past dead soldiers and stopped before a door. "In here."

"You first," said Krillin. Vegeta opened the door and we stepped inside to see a variety of machines.

"By tapping into the system, we should have Kakarrot up to speed in no time," Vegeta told us as he cleared off a table, causing needles to land on the floor in front of Goku.

"A needle?!" he exclaimed as he tried to make a break for it. "No, no! I hate needles! Get me out of here! Please, I'd rather be sick!"

"Would you shut up already?" demanded Vegeta. "I'm not even giving you a needle, idiot!"

"Oh, never mind then," murmured Goku and we put him in the pod.

"So, what's this machine for, Vegeta?" asked Krillin.

"It's called an isolation chamber," explained Vegeta. "Kakarrot will get his strength back in no time. The liquid in the capsule is synthetic Saiyan DNA. It will penetrate his every pore, making him good as new."

"Amazing," I breathed. "My mom would love to see this."

"This chamber's one of the older models," continued Vegeta. "It shouldn't take too long until Kakarrot's back to normal."

"Older model?" repeated Gohan. "You don't have a newer one?"

"I broke it," responded Vegeta. "Don't worry, this one will work just fine. Everything seems to be operating properly. As for you three, I think a little armor might help you out."

Vegeta then got us Saiyan battle uniforms and I went off to change by myself before returning to find only Gohan. "Where's Vegeta?"

"Taking a nap," he replied.

"And Krillin?" I inquired.

"Went to Guru's to get the password," said Gohan.

"Makes sense," I mused. "Though I still don't like him going off by himself with Frieza out there."

"Me neither," Gohan agreed.

"Oh well, what else can we do?" I sighed as we sat together and waited while I continued to ponder what Vegeta had meant when he said Super Saiyan.
