Twelve Years Old Again

She woke up with a large yawn and rubbed her eyes slightly as she looked around the room, her bedroom. Another normal day, or at least that's what she thought. Still half asleep she picked out some clothes from her closet, being so out of it she didn't even notice that they were pre-teen sized. She made her way to the bathroom and brushed her teeth with her eyes closed and still asleep, she rinsed her mouth. She took a quick shower, her mind slightly wondering why the shower head was so far away. It wasn't until she was done washing her hair and had looked down at her undeveloped chest with the soap at hand that she noticed why that day was not a normal day. She dropped the soap at the sight of her lack of breasts and let out a piercing scream that could be heard all through out Konohagakure.

At that very moment in another part of the village, Naruto was about to wash down his breakfast with a glass of milk, but the sudden scream caused all the milk he had just chugged to spray out of his mouth. "What the hell?" Naruto questioned coughing up the remaining milk, he glanced down at the milk carton placed on his table. "Expired!" Naruto shouted after reading the label on the carton. "Good thing I didn't drink that", he mumbled as he cleaned the milk off his kitchen floor, feeling slightly grateful to whoever belted out that sudden scream.

"No way, this can't be happening!" The pink hair girl had run out of the bathroom dressed in only a towel, to view herself in the full sized mirror in her bedroom. She almost passed out when she meet her long haired twelve year old reflection in the mirror. She fell to her knees, and allowed her right hand to touch her young face and gently comb her long hair. "I'm twelve years old!" She was practically having a panic attack, but she quickly pulled her self together. Calm down, Sakura. She told herself gently and allowed her eyes to wonder along the features of her reflection. Just think about the last thing you remember… She squeezed her eyes shut in order to help her concentrate. She couldn't remember anything, all her most recent memories came up black, however she did remember that she was an eighteen year old jounin and the disciple of the legendary Tsunade, who was also the fifth homage. But what faced her when she opened her eyes was the reflection of her twelve year old self. Time travel? She couldn't believe it, it was impossible. What day is it anyway? She walked over to her calendar. Good thing I always put an X on the day after it passes, so today is January 7th? Her eyes widen when she realized it was the same day she was assigned to Team 7 with Naruto and Sasuke. "No way…" She turned her head to glance at the numbers on her alarm clock. "8:30! I'm late for class!", She quickly threw on her clothes and did a quick jutsu to dry her hair. By 8:32 she was out the door.

Everyone stared at the girl who walked in nearly thirty minutes late, even Iruka was shocked because Sakura was always punctual if not early. She bowed and said her apologies to her sensei, who just warned her not to be late again. She looked over to the center seat where she would have sat if she had not been late only to find Ino sitting there between Naruto and Sasuke. Sakura could see the blonde partially drooling over the Uchiha as she moved to the back of the room to sit near a bored looking Shikamaru. She could help but wonder if she missed Sasuke and Naruto's kiss, she didn't see any of the girls shooting Naruto any mean glares so she figured it never happen. She sighed at the thought, if she was really in the past she would have at least wanted to see that scene again. Shikamaru noticed Sakura sigh, but didn't say anything about it because he figured she was just depressed about not being able to sit next to Sasuke Uchiha, the class idol.

"Starting today, all of you are real shinobi… but you are still genin… the hard journey that lies ahead has just started." Iruka spoke to the class and Sakura agreed wholeheartedly. It was just the beginning, she and her teammates would have to overcome a lot of obstacles on their journey. Maybe I should use this second chance to fix my mistakes, maybe I could get Sasuke to stay. She glanced at the dark haired boy, but then again I don't want some things to change. At that thought she turned her glaze to Naruto, he had become so wise and strong because to the obstacles he had to overcome. Sakura didn't know what to do. "Ok.. Next is team 7", Iruka spoke and Sakura's head shoot up at his words. Shikamaru was surprised by the girl's sudden reaction, What is seven her lucky number? He wondered than his eyes widened when Iruka finished his sentence. "Haruno Sakura…" Iruka spoke. How did she know? Shikamaru stared dumbfounded at the girl and he noticed she was smiling. Sakura couldn't help but smile at her name, after all she was reliving one of her favorite memories. Then she whispered the names of her other two teammates in perfect synchronization with her teacher. "Uzimaki Naruto… and Uchiha Sasuke", Iruka finished and Shikamaru was even more in awe at the girl who had guessed her teammates perfectly. Sakura Haruno, I guess I'll keep an eye on her… Shikamaru thought as he stared at the beautiful pink haired shinobi next to him.

"Ok, This afternoon we'll introduce your jounin sensei's. Until then, take a break." Iruka stated and then left the room. Sakura knew exactly where she would go during her break, the same place she went last time, the bench she alway sat at in the park near the academy. It was still one of her favorite places even after Sasuke broke her heart there. She sat back looking and the sky, when she felt someone watching her. Right on time, there he is, Sasuke-kun or should I say Naruto-kun, She smirked at the boy who was staring at her. She watched him as he walked over toward her, when he was standing in front of her he spoke, "You sure have a large charming forehead… makes me want to kiss it." She giggled at the dorking pick up line, I can't believe I ever wanted Sasuke to say that to me. "Haha, sounds like something Naruto would say." He said quickly. "Yeah, it sure does," She countered and grinned a him. He sat on the bench to her right, "What do you think of Naruto?" She knew what her previous answer was and she always regretted it, now she has the opportunity to correct that mistake, she smiled to herself. "Well, he's an idiot and a dope" She could she his eyes getting discouraged, "But I also think that he is strong and determined, and I admire him for those qualities". She saw her words put the spark back in the boy's eyes.

Naruto couldn't believe what he was hearing. Sakura just called him strong and determined, and he could feel his face flush with color. "R-Really?" He stuttered, she nodded and replied with a "Un". "Um, Sakura…" He gazed at her while leaning closer to her face. "But why are you asking me about Naruto, Sasuke-kun? Shouldn't you be asking me about how I feel about you?" She cut him off and was wondering, Why isn't he running off to the bathroom yet? "Oh, yeah… right… um, what do you think about Sas- I mean um me?" His face turned red like a tomato. I guess he doesn't have an upset stomach this time, she wonder and was about to answer when she was cut off, "Well, I-". "Naruto! What do you think you're doing?" The real Sasuke interrupted them, and Naruto looked like a deer caught in the headlights. "Um, Sakura I-" the fake Sasuke panicked, but stopped when the pink haired girl next to him placed her hand softly on his shoulder. "It's okay Naruto, I knew it was you the whole time," She stated trying to calm the boy. "No way, you did? Then wait… what you said then… was a lie?" The fake Sasuke looked like Sakura had just killed his puppy. Sakura's eyes soften at the boy who had misunderstood her, "No, Naruto what I told you was the truth, I really do admire you". Before the fake Sasuke could say a word, she leaned forward and gave him a light peck on the cheek. Both Sasukes were taken completely by surprise at the girl's action, Naruto was so surprised that he broke his concentration and his jutsu disappeared making him plain old Naruto Uzimaki again. With out another word to each of the boy, Sakura promptly stood up and walked back to the academy. When she met a baffled Sasuke she lightly punched him in the shoulder and winked at him. "See you later boys", She laughed and walked off leaving her two teammates stunned and staring
