Emeralds for his soul

(Somewhere in N.Y.C)

A strange silence had fallen upon New York that evening making it seem like the whole city had gone to sleep, leaving the streets peaceful but deserted like never before. Nothing was supposed to happen on a night like this, no cries and screams echoing from the dark alleys, no sound of breaking glass or any alarms going off, even the shadows that appeared upon the rooftops each and every night were nowhere to be seen today. However, on a capitol such as New York there was always something seething below the surface and the hooded silhouette resting on the rooftop of a building far out of sight, was a solid proof of how deceiving that peace was. Soon something was bound to happen…

"Everything is clear sir," the silhouette spoke upon an intercom "I will be on the move soon!"

The voice of the silhouette was quiet and soothing contrasting the threatening echo it left behind in the cloudy night sky but suiting the careless and elegant posture that dark figure could maintain. It stood unmoving, staring down at the lights of the city from an old shadowed building…waiting…

Its eyes moved quickly, calculating, as it stood hidden from the world below. People going on about their activities, youngsters coming out to enjoy the luxury of the night and seniors bidding each-other good byes ready to retreat for the night into the comfort of their homes and families. Such normalcy…If only they were aware of everything happening around them, if only they knew there was someone watching their every move just now…a stranger stealing a glimpse of those casual gestures.

"Do you have the objective in sight?" a mechanical voice asked through the intercom. It sounded impatient, quite different from the relaxed voice of the dark silhouette.

The dark figure didn't answer immediately, it seemed to wait for a sign…a movement. A dark van speeding down the street to the direction of the building the stranger was staying upon, that seemed to be its cue. The screeching of the tires giving the dark figure a sign to move forward. All the muscles below the clothes seemed to tense, and the silhouette made its way towards the very edge of the building, as if to gain a full view of the scene in front of her, careful to not be seen. Two more cars seemed to follow behind the van in the same pace, all of them bearing tinted windows making it impossible for the people around to tell the content they bore. The cars were drawing closer…and closer…

"The objective is entering the building…shall I proceed?" all of a sudden the voice turned urgent, its all body shifting in an offensive position.

"Do you have the objective in sight?" the mechanical voice spoke again seeming to anger the silhouette who bit its lip, continuing to stare down. It wasn't long before the people residing inside those cars made their way outside. The silhouette waited in a slight discomfort, while a couple of men made their way outside the vehicles. Immediately the driver and the man sitting beside him hurried to open the door of their passenger, from one of the two vehicles following the van, allowing for a man, probably somewhere on his forties to emerge from the car.

The man wore a white kimono style garment, almost making his white and pale complexion seem even fader, while his dark jet-black hair and eyes contrasted the whole features. In front of an untrained eye he would seem as ordinary as any other man driving down the street. Rich and powerful, with a taste for his old Japanese culture. But the silhouette of that night knew better than to be fooled by the masks of her enemy.

"We have a problem…" the silhouette finally spoke while it watched more and more people surround the Japanese man while he slowly approached the van. This last one not having stopped more than a couple of feet away from him.

"Speak!" the mechanical voice spoke from the earpiece commanded in a strong voice, to which the silhouette obliged.

"Oroku Saki is here…" the figure spoke in a tone full of loathe and hatred, only to be met with silence form the other side. The mechanical voice didn't speak, seemingly evaluating the information after this new piece of information had been presented to him.

"How many others are there?" a mechanical voice finally spoke. The silhouette looked down again, making sure Oroku Saki wasn't looking up this time, and carefully shifted its eyes between the many men in his side. Those eyes counted the ones they could see…the ones they couldn't see as well…

"There are six men currently by his side ,but I suspect they are guarding the cargo form inside as well sir!" the dark figure reported quietly while scanning the roof for a second time "There seems to be no security system but it can't be possible for them to be that careless!" the figure spoke again this time smirking slightly, knowing the nature of its enemy.

Before any remark could come from the earpiece the door of the van opened, right after a swift command given by Oroku Saki himself. The silhouette's smirk grew wider, as it noticed the soft glow coming from inside the van…its eyes shining brighter then before in something else, that stranger could almost smell the victory, taste it in its buds.

"The objective is in sight!" the silhouette said standing straight and putting a hand upon the intercom, knowing this calm conversation was coming to the end.

"You may start, however proceed carefully. You are in and out, don't attract attention! Our only goal is the cargo, once they have secured it inside, they will lower their guard, that's when you get on the move. We will take care of the security system, should there be any!" the voice instructed, and the silhouette nodded to no one visible backing away towards the middle of the roof.

"Retrieve the Cargo and return to the base. For security reasons we cannot offer back up! Understood?" the mechanical voice asked in a commanding tone but that last remark didn't seem to bother the figure all that much

"Of course…" the silhouette spoke in a giggling voice raising its head "When have I ever disappointed you after all sir?"

A pair of fiery emerald eyes shone in that darkness dangerously sealing the words whispered over the phone. No response came from the mechanical voice this time but that was all the answer needed.

I thought so…" those were the silhouette's last words before the line went dead. The stranger kept the phone by the ear for some more with that dangerous smirk never leaving its lips. A strong wind that blew from the sky made the hood fall of the head on the stranger's back revealing a face of a shocking beauty and elegance.

"I am gonna crush them…" the silhouette spoke moving the phone of her ear "…one…by…one…"

With no warning the dim light of the road went off and the sole source of light on that ominous night became those two burning emerald eyes which shone in hatred and courage all the same.

(In the lair)

Leonardo knew he was in a dream, worse yet in a nightmare, the kind of nightmare where you breath remained stuck on your chest, your feet could not run fast enough and you had lost your voice to call out for any help. The Fearless leader recognized the same dream that had been haunting his sleep for the past nights, from the second a mischievous and yet soft giggle echoed on the air. Everything surrounding him was unfamiliar, hidden behind a dark shadow and covered in an ominous black veil. It was almost scary to stand there, in the middle of nowhere, not being able to recognise any of your surroundings so no one could blame Leo for wanting to run away.

Leonardo kept taking all sort of turns, run into every corner and still face a dead end. He was practically trapped in his own mind waiting for the end to come. As Leo stood in front of another blind edge the clash of the metal slashing the wall beside himself came right behind him letting him understand how near the edge he had come. She was there…he could not escape anymore. The air itself started to change, it felt tenser...thicker, he could choke on it, had he been able to take a breath on the first place. Leonardo spun around to meet his fate and there it was...Standing so near him, those lips...those eyes...

Like always she was silent, her silhouette moving with elegance and her hands carelessly waving on her sides as she giggled again. That soft and yet threatening giggle that sent shivers on Leo's body. How could such fragile and slim figure scare the life out of him, why did he go numb as she approached closely…Leonardo couldn't understand so he remained frozen in his place. He didn't twitch a muscle as she approached closely, his body didn't react even when she raised ,what he would always make out to be some sort of knife, up to his head threatening to take his life right in those moments. Only when the mysterious figure raised her head to take a last look at her desperate victim did Leo let shock wash over him. Her green piercing eyes seemed to strike Leo harder than her sword did and he moved. Walked forward right into her blade allowing himself to be devoured and…

"Leonardo!" she spoke for the first time in all those nights but only her lips were moving… her voice was not the one Leo had imagined. Surprisingly it sounded familiar, rough as if it was…

"Leo wake up!" the voice spoke again but Leonardo was certain this wasn't the girl's voice. All of sudden she started to evaporate in front of him letting Leo alone to bleed in that darkness. The voice rang on Leo's head again pulling him away from that illusion.

"C'mon man wake up, we're gonna hit da city for a patrol!" Raph called out to his brother shaking Leonardo awake "Ya' don't wanna sit dis one outta!'

The blue masked turtle practically jumped in his feet looking at his surroundings confused. The sheets entangled between his feet as if they were binding him on the bed, his body half out of the mattress falling down on the ground. She however was nowhere to be seen instead he was in his room, surrounded by his belongings, he was back in one piece and…damn…Raph was there. The last thing Leonardo wanted was for his brothers to start teasing him for those dreams, he might look like a child who was afraid to sleep in the dark.

Leo tried to regain his composture as he shoved the bed sheets away and stood sitting with a hand on top of his forehead, shaking away the images that haunted him.

"Uh…okay…I'll come down in a minute!" Leonardo said casually trying to cover up for his weird behavior just seconds ago.

Unfortunately he couldn't help it. These nightmares had been crawling on his sleep almost every single night for the past weeks, if not months. Leo couldn't remember the exact time when they started, same as he couldn't remember the last time he had a peaceful night's sleep. He wondered if there was something he was missing, a sign of some sort, his father would always tell him that dreams were a part of their consciousness trying to shield and protect their inner beings by sometimes giving hidden messages. He had never thought much of it...until now...

Raphael on the other hand frowned approaching his brother to put a hand on his shoulder.

"You okay bro?" he asked trying to get a better look on his older brother's face. However Leo avoided direct eye contact with him and simply nodded turning to fix his bed.

"Yeah of course, I said I'll come downstairs in a minute and then we can leave!" Leo explained quickly. Raph stood there looking at his back for awhile before shrugging and walking away.

"Don't take yer sweet time fearless! I've got stuff to do, ther' gotta be some punks outta there to introduce to my fist! " Raph exclaimed slamming the door of his room shut.

Left alone Leonardo finally sighed laying his head on the wall beside the bed. If things kept up to this pace he was not going to get any sleep anytime soon.

He didn't know how long he stayed like that, letting the coldness of the bricks cool him down but soon his brother's voices made him snap away from the thoughts and grab his swords to hurry up on that night's patrol. Maybe that evening the night breeze was going to clear his mind and blow those emerald eyes haunting his mind away.

"Ah, looks like it's gonna be a slow night...again!" Raph said taking a look at the clock of a random window on shop down the street. They had been going on with the normal night patrol for more than two hours now but still no trouble had caught their sight. It seemed that like rarely before New York city was enjoying a peacefull night even if for the turtles it meant no action for yet another day.

"Where da shell did all the punks hide, no city to terrorize anymore, nothin' to steal, no chic' to grab? Did ever'one suddenly just turn good or what?" Raph said in sarcasm hitting a nearby can. The red clad turtle had hoped for some action tonight, to blow off steam and get back out there. However it seemed like New York city had another plan for him

"We are going to check the full perimetre Raphael!" Leonardo ordered walking forward holding up a commading voice and an anxious look. As if he was hoping or waiting for something to happen.

"Whoa, slow down Fearless, will ya! I wer' just saying that I am gettin' bored. It's been like this for three days straight now!" Raph said in his defense making Leo frown.

He could understand very well what his hot headed brother wanted to say because he felt the same way too. Such silence gave him time to think over bothersome things like that dream or all the past trouble he had had with the foot clan. He too needed to blow of some steam for once.

"Yeah Leo, Raph is right! Woah I never thought I would say that sentence!" Mikey added then earning himself one deep growl from Raphael who narrowed his eyes at Michelangelo's direction. He smirked at his older brother before turning again to their leader.

"You have been such a grumpy cat lately." Mikey teased before smirking to Raph one more time "Even more than the hot headed Raphie over here!"

"Dat's it Mikey, com' here you little…" Raph said not loosing one second to jump on a run behind his younger brother who let out a shriek, running as fast as he could away from an anger fueled Raphael.

Leo didn't seem to react at the comparison and Raph's usual overreaction to Mikey's words but replied to his brother's childish statement with a simple shrug not sure if they were even hearing him anymore.

"I just want us to be sure everything's okay out here!" Leo answered opening up a small piece of his mind to his brothers. It was not a complete lie but it wasn't the whole truth either.

"I sense something bad is coming our way!" Leonardo finally said looking out at the night's sky, as if waiting for it to give him a sign.

"Leo, you always sense something bad coming!" Donatello told his brother joining the three of them on the rooftop of a building, after having done a complete scan of the security system they had put in that area, just in case something came up when they weren't on their usual patrol. The purple clad turtle approached his brother and put a hand on his shoulder giving him an encouraging smile.

"Everything seems alright this far, the cameras haven't even been moved the slightest!" Donatello explained showing his brother his tech tab where they could view all the footage of the cameras Donnie had installed.

Leo sighed with an emotionless face. He jumped on the other roof and his brothers followed him without words understanding that there was something wrong with their "Fearless Leader".

"Maybe you are right…" Leonardo finally gave in feeling the past sleepless night starting to take him down "Let's call it a night!"

The cheers he earned after that statement from his two younger brothers were no surprise at all. As he suspected all of them couldn't wait to hit the bed for a good night sleep, a luxury he himself couldn't afford. Those fiery green eyes kept bothering his mind. Whom did they belong to? Could they be…

Leo knew only one person whose eyes shone that brightly and it wasn't exactly one that he'd wish to be followed by in dreams. Having her track him and his brothers in reality was consuming enough.

He desperately tried to shove those thoughts far away, in a corner of his mind where they wouldn't bug him while in the presence of his brothers. Leonardo had no desire to give explanations when they kept asking what was up with him lately, for he himself had no idea what the right explanation would be. Was there even any…?

How could there be any accountable explanation for him being tortured by a woman, bearing a pair of fiery emerald eyes, every night in his dreams. He didn't know her but at the same time she felt so familiar, he had never seen her face and yet somehow, he knew what she looked like. He willingly walked towards her every night wishing to find out who she was, only to be met with the sharp end of her knife, the moment she would push it deep through his chest.

That's when he would wake up, breathing heavy, covered in sweat and she…she would disappear simply because she had never been there in the first place. She was nothing more than a product of his imagination, those emerald eyes were no more than a mere hallucination his brain chose to torture him with.

Lost in his thoughts Leo almost didn't hear the alarms of a building sounding at a distance. He almost missed the sight of the shadows making their way through the roof around them, until he heard the voice of his brother calling out to him.

"Leo!" Don's alarmed voice pulled Leonardo back to earth and he jerked around immediately with his guard up. His hand instinctively going to his swords, ready to unsheathe his problems at whoever came their way.

"What is it?" the blue masked turtle asked quickly jumping near his brother who pointed down at a dimly lit alley. From where he was standing Leonardo could very faintly see some figures running from a distance towards their direction. The loud sound of the alarm still sounding at a distance piercing their ears almost painfully. Where the hell did this nauseating sound come from?!

"It's da' Foot!" Raph said standing hidden beside his brothers as he saw about 5 foot ninjas waiting in the shadow at the near entrance of the alley as if they were waiting for someone from the other group to come their way "Looks like we gonna have some action after all...come to daddy yo' little…"

"Raph hold it!" Leonardo said crunching down on his knees as if to examine their surroundings better. He noticed the Foot soldiers staying hidden on the shadow of a building, they were unmoving, almost as if they were waiting for something.

"Leo...isn't that..." Donatello asked pointing at yet more cars approaching at the same place and a familiar face emerging from one of the vehicles. Inhumanly big, there stood a blonde man giving orders to the rest of the people emerging from the cars to block any exit from this alley and stay on guard.

"Hun…and his Purple Dragons! What are they doing all together?" Leo said almost in a whisper. It had been months since they had last seen a single trace of the street gang and the lethal clan, but here they were, on what appeared to have begun as a quiet night…apparently it was no longer so. They were running towards something…but what? It was impossible even for his trained eyes to tell from this distance.

"I say we go and bust them, right here, right now!" Raphael insisted immediately putting a hand on his Sai twirling it in the air.

"Um…guys…"Mikey said standing behind his brothers looking at the streets leading to the other corners of the neighborhood, noticing something his brothers seemed to have neglected.

"Let's wait and see firstly!" Leonardo ordered the others. He wanted nothing more than to get in the middle of that mess and beat whoever came his way, unleash the anxiety that was trapping him from inside, but he was the leader in between his brothers. He had to be responsible and watch over things carefully on such situation.

"You kiddin'?" Raph said standing up "I waited months to get some piece of those…"

"Raph keep it down…" Don started to say but was interrupted.

"Okay…guys I think you need to check out…" Mikey continued jumping in his place and pointing somewhere behind them.

"Shut da' hole Mikey!" Raph told his little brother before turning to Leo who had his attention on the street below "It's not like there is many of 'em, we can take 'em down!" he insisted.

"Raphael stay pu…" Leonardo wanted to insist but seeing as he had been ignored yet again Michelangelo decided he wouldn't take much more.

"Guys they are all over the place!" Mikey finally shout whispered pointing at more cars blocking any exit from that neighborhood and fire escapes being occupied with foot soldiers, who tried to skillfully hide themselves in the darkness only to be spotted if only all the other defenses fell and they were extremely needed.

"What the…It's like they sent out the whole clan!" Don said immediately trying to sneak a look without being noticed. Leonardo frowned shadowing himself at the edge of the building they were standing.

"Looks like tonight they're in for a common enemy!" Leonardo said looking around.

"Aren't we their common enemy?" Mikey asked blinking.

"Or for a common price…as in our shells!" Donatello reasoned trying to think of the best way to escape alive.

"It's not like we've neva' been outnumbered before! We can handle this shit!" Raph still went on with his idea but Leo had his attention elsewhere.

"I don't think we have to worry about being outnumbered Donny! This time we're not their catch…look!" he said pointing down at a silhouette moving quickly through the alley towards their direction, he could clearly notice men being at its feet not far behind shooting at the dark figure with anything that could come handy. It was impossible to tell who was actually down there as the stranger was wearing a hooded jacket, and was moving pretty fast. The figure was running straight into a trap without even noticing it.

"That guy's gonna be trapped!" Raph said pulling out both his sais "We gotta help him out!"

"Wait Raph we have no idea who that guy is!" Leonardo said placing a hand on Raph's shoulder " For all we know it can be Shredder himself hiding down there!"

"Leo…I am with Raph in this bro, aren't we out on a patrol. We have to save somebody man, we're the good guys!" Mikey said making Leo growl under his breath. If only his brothers und stand down and listen for once.

He looked down at the figure that had now stopped in the middle of the alley understanding the position enemies had placed him into. It looked at all the directions, apparently trying to find an opening. Something shined from behind that hooded form and Leonardo narrowed his eyes trying to make out the shape and the consistency of the light source.

"Oh his hand…look!" Leonardo said leading his brothers to watch over a silver suitcase with a couple of weird shapes and writing on top of it, that they couldn't make out from such distance. The hooded figure was hiding it behind himself as if shielding it from the enemies that nor cornered him on that alley, pouring unexpected from every direction.

Leonardo kept looking down at the dark figure now trapped on that alle. He could tell the stranger was scanning every corner, every escape route trying to make a decision as fast as possible, find a route in the mids of that mess that might lead him to safety. The figure didn't seem scared but rather distressed about getting away, it kept moving his head as if he were counting the troops standing in front of him.

"He isn't thinking about taking on a whole army of foot and PDs by himself, is he?" Michelangelo asked blinking towards the direction of the commotion.

Leo clenched his fists tightly not knowing what to do, while he saw that human being in the hands of fate, with danger creeping closer with every passing second. Mikey was right they were supposed to help the ones in distress but there was something about the situation he was facing now that made Leo stand back and not rush to play the hero. Fortunately Donny's next word made his decision easier.

"Let's wait and hear what's going on!" Don said calmly "Then we can rush in if it's needed!"

Even thought that idea received various protests from Raph the turtles decided to stay put and see what was really happening down there, maybe at least they could figure out why the thugs had been gone all these months only to make a grand appearance on that day. It was not long after that when one decided to speak.

"No one taught you not to steal from kids in the playground kid?" Hun's voice came while he slowly made his way in between his troops coming to stand in the middle of a semi-circle gathered around what appeared to be a thief.

"Stealing is bad…" Hun said moving his neck from side to side leaving an uncomfortable cracking noise echo in the alley "…it is also punishable!" he told the silhouette who didn't move one muscle at the words of her opponent. The stranger was either too scared or too proud to accept defeat.

There were no words coming from the silhouette however from the hooded figure escaped a soft giggle that made Leonardo go numb. Immediately he kneeled on his place to get a better look at the view below. That voice crashed with the night sky and made its way to his ears like a thunderstorm, hitting hard and unexpected. That voice…

"Leo sit back, you'll blow our cover!" Don complained but their leader only made a sign with his hand them all to stay silent and kept looking intensely at the scene. The hooded figure now pushed against the wall was staying in front of the Foot and the PDs, tilting its head slightly to the side and looking directly at Hun.

"What can I say…I always enjoyed dirty, risky games!" the voice came calm and collected from the middle of that circle, while the dark figure made its way towards their blonde leader looking up at him. The strange seemed so small and breakable in comparison with Hun's monster-like body. Its voice…it was not the tone one would have expected to hear. It was calm and quiet, it had a softness meant to caress the ears of the one listening to it. Even though they were barely able to hear it, the turtles were shocked by the realization that hit them right after they listened to the stranger's words. The Purple Dragons however didn't seem all that much affected as they put up their guns at the figure as soon as it moved. Not seconds after Hun gave a signal for them to stop the fire.

"Don't shoot ya idiots!" he shouted at them before turning his attention to the figure in front of him. His eyes never leaving the beloved price hiding itself behind the dark figure, that harmless silver suitcase shining under the dim moonlight.

"Give that suitcase to us and you'll escape with no harm!" Hun said telling one of his biggest lies ever "The Foot has no intention on harming you!"

If the hooded figure was simply giggling moments ago after Hun's words it turned into a loud laugh that took awhile to die down even as the mysterious silhouette started talking.

"Oh so you guys wanna play?" the silhouette asked in a taunting manner, pushing its body forward in an offensive position "But just to let you know…" the figure started before jumping forward and landing a kick right on Hun's jaw sending the man stumbling back a few steps despite his size.

"I play dirty!" the silhouette finished smirking from the place it was standing.

Raph turned to look at each of his brothers not having expected what he found out. His eyes fixated on the moves of the small figure who started moving fast…almost to fast.

"It's a…" he said looking once at the hooded figure down the alley and then back at his brothers before his eyes passed at the figure again. The figure leapt in the air and used the suitcase to kick two of Hun's little associates.

"Come back here you little…" Hun cursed following the stranger to grab the suitcase before it was far away from its reach.

The figure reached out for a fire escape using its leader to pull the body up and kicking the two Foot ninjas reaching to grab the ladder, using their shoulders as a jumping base. Doing a nice jump upward in the air the figure stopped at one of the balconies on the building near there. However such hard executed jump had its affects. The sudden movement caused for the hood to fall off the stranger's head letting the face of this mysterious person visible under the dim light of the night, like a secret of the darkness meant to be unleashed below the shine of the moon

Everyone had to blink their eyes more than once when they came face to face with the person in front of them but the one who received the greatest shock was Leonardo who unconsciously jumped on his feet right where he was standing. His eyes remained focused on the view in front of him like he was observing a ghost instead of a living human. For a moment the whole world disappeared, the time seemed to go slower until it stopped completely and he breathed in taking in every detail of what he was witnessing, unconsciously feeling the need to hang strongly by the edge of the roof to avoid a possible 7 stories fall. He was shocked….mesmerized…

With the hood gone a pair of long dark brown hairs fell freely on the silhouette's back and the face of this mysterious figure that in one night had gathered the most dangerous people of New York City in a single place was revealed. She had delicate and sharp features, but nothing in that elegant face with rosy cheeks and full lips caught attention more than the emerald green eyes that shone fearless. The one who had ruined the peace of the city on that night was none other than a normal looking girl with the unbelievable courage to stay emotionless and collected in front of people who aimed to kill her.

"You gotta be kiddin' me!" Raph said looking at the scene from their hiding spot "It's really a woman, what the hell does that crazy chic' think she's doing?! They're gonna bust her head open!"

"Leo I think it is better if we sit this one out!" Donatello suggested "This is apparently an inner job, she has stolen something from them and apparently has inner ties to the PDs, she recognizes Hun!" Donnie spoke trying to make a sense out of all this mess.

"Then shouldn't we find out what the shell she's stolen?" Raph reasoned attempting to stay calm while looking at Donatello not bearing to run away from the action like a coward.

"And how exactly do you think to do that smart guy?" Don asked in sarcasm receiving a glare from Raph.

"C'mon guys, don't fight now!" Mikey said like always wanting to calm things down, before things escalated in this roof as well.

"Look at me and Leo, we are both peacefully enjoying the show, right bro?" Mikey asked turning to Leonardo but their leader wasn't paying any attention to his brothers, in fact Leonardo wasn't paying much attention to anything.

The blue masked turtle was still looking at the fiery eyes that had haunted his dreams in pure shock. He was sure about it, the person who killed him every night in his nightmares was none other than this girl with fiery emerald eyes, this stranger that was laughing to her enemies in the same way she'd laugh in his mind.

Leonardo stood on top of that roof numb looking at how the girl leaped from balcony to balcony escaping the claws of the enemies that were still tailing her.

"You have nowhere to go stupid woman, you're trapped!" Hun yelled making a sign for the ninjas hiding on the rooftop to come to light.

Once again surrounded the brown haired girl held the suitcase tightly on her hands before letting go of it. Hun who had climbed the ladder and was now standing right behind her smirked thinking that with nowhere else to go she finally gave in.

"Smart move girlie…there is nowhere up to go this time! Now hand it over to me!" he said walking to her slowly, almost as if he was on a hunt and afraid to scare off his prey . Unfortunately the girl's next move left him confused in his place and frowning.

She unzipped her hood and turned to him smirking before letting the hood fall of her shoulders to the ground revealing a well trained body underneath that clothe, as well as a few extra surprises. Staying now only on a pair of dark military pants and a sleeveless blouse everyone could see her well trained muscles through the thin material of the shirt, however that was not the only thing she was hiding. Right on her waist rested a belt carrying two guns, as well as enough ammo to blow this roof in fireworks. However the girl didn't seem to go her weapons as she sent her hand to the back of her belt where a unsheathed combat knife stood. The girl pulled the knife out and looked at Hun straight in the eye, with a devious smirk on her face.

"Maybe you misunderstood me earlier!" she spoke silently making a sign with her hand for Hun to come her way and carelessly letting her knife slash the edge of the roof as she walked straight to Hun.

"You are getting nothing from me you bundle of useless muscles!" she said before putting the suitcase on one corner of the rooftop and rushing to Hun kicking him on the head and trying to slash his neck.

Wanting to avoid him the guy almost fell off the rooftop giving a sign to his ninjas to attack as well. It was amazing how easily she handled the whole group of foot ninjas single handed but unfortunately the great opponent number started to get the best of her.

There was no denying it, for a girl, apparently no ninja whatsoever, this stranger was an amazing fighter but in the end she was only human.

From the shadows Leonardo could see how her breathing started to accelerate and her movements began to grow slower and couldn't bear to stay on the side anymore. He wanted to learn who this person was, what had she done to awake the range in between both the Gangs and the Foot clan but most importantly…why did she keep haunting his dreams every night? Hell, Leo wondered if she even knew how she crept on his nightmares day after day.

"We have to go and help her!" Leonardo finally said placing a hand on his katana only to be stopped by Donatello who was able to reason more clearly. The purple clad turtle came beside his brother putting his hand on the other's arm.

"She seems to be doing fine on her own! We don't have to middle in this!" Don said frowning but Leonardo threw a look worried at the scene right in front of him, shaking Donnie's words out of his brain. He was feeling anxious, a fear he didn't know of creeping in his body…the fear of the unknown. He couldn't stay in the dark for much longer.

"Leo I know you mean well, but we can find out what she's up to once this is over!" Don said moving his hand on his brother's shoulder. Their Fearless leader wanted justice for the ones in distress, Don knew that, he understood that, but he couldn't afford to let his older brother run straight into this trap, not knowing if they had the means to get out alive. Not even knowing if the whole thing was orchestrated or not.

Leonardo was still looking at the scene in front of him undecided, however what happened next made his ideas clear and his decision much easier.

"Guys look, someone else is approaching!" Mikey said pointing at some buildings further away where the shadows of approximately five people cleared their way towards the combat place.

Even though his brother wasn't not able to put a name and a face to thei current visitors Leonardo was able to perfectly define the faceless figure hurrying towards the scene. Her short hairs and quick moves were all too familiar to him…Karai…she was here and wherever Karai was present it meant trouble, bigger trouble than what a single handed thief could handle.

Caught in the arrival of one of his sworn enemies Leonardo was unable to see the object of his attention fall on the ground wounded. She had been hit…more than once. Blood was running from her lip and there were fresh bruises coloring her arms and face. Leo had been right…this was just to much for one person to bear.

"Let's finish you now!" Hun said approaching the girl on the ground before one of the ninjas stopped him, giving a signal from afar.

"Master Hun…" the guy said approaching "…lady Karai is here!"

As much as Hun would have wanted to end his opponent he knew that he could not rise above Shredder's daughter in her presence.

"Great…" Hun said looking down at the girl who was trying to stand on her feet "…let's let Shredder's little puppet to finish this job! If she fails it will be her fault!" Hun said turning with an evil smirk in his face as the dark haired woman approached.

"Glad to see you made it…Karai!" Hun breathed out in some shape of disgust and hate towards the young kunoichi. The black haired woman seemed to ignore his words and avoid his stare completely focusing her attention only to the girl who was making her way back to her feet, having recovered rather quick from her fall.

The brown haired woman brushed the blood off her lips and looked at the two figures with a trace of disgust.

"She's all yours Karai!" Hun said in irony stepping back while Karai kept an emotionless and steady look towards her enemy.

In that moment being able to hear Hun's statement Leonardo couldn't just stay without doing anything.

"Sorry guys…" he said closing his eyes and letting out a shaky sight "…but I can't let this happen!"

"…not without finding out who she is!" Leo added in his mind before leaving their hiding spot and running to help this strange fighter. When he opened his eyes again, once on the run, everything Leonardo felt and thought was reflected on those deep blue irises of his.

"Leo don't…" Don was saying but their brother was already gone.

Taking advantage of the situation Raph stood up too getting his sais ready.

"Finally we can get to kick someone's ass tonight!" he said smirking running after Leo.

Left without any other choice Mikey and Donn joined their two older brothers not sure where this night would be taking them.
