Okay guys, I get that you're annoyed with me for taking so long to update, but please don't message me/review the story to bitch at me that I haven't updated. Like, reviewing or messaging me and asking me to update is okay. But don't send me snippy messages like "I hate when pple don't finish things tht they start". Like, I have a life, guys. I don't have the time to sit on my ass writing 24/7 or all of my stories on here would be complete. When you message me like that, it makes me want to not update the story, 'cause it's annoying. So please stop it.

"So, do they treat you alright in here?" Brian asked as they took a seat at one of the many tables in the room

Stewie shrugged his shoulders, a soft sigh escaping his lips as he looked away, gaze briefly taking in the room before he replied

"As much as they possibly can. Nobody but Amanda goes out of their way to be nice, and she truly is a dear" he offered a smile, and the dog returned it

"I'm glad you had someone here, Stewie" he admitted, tail wagging slightly

Stewie chuckled

"I would've rather had you" he hinted

Brian sighed heavily, passing a paw over his face and scratching his nose before shaking his head

"I know, kid" he sighed "I'm sorry" his gaze met the child's and he shrugged helplessly "I just… Was lost… You know? And it took me a while to come back" he tilted his head "I'm sorry I wasn't here for you, Stewie"

Stewie was quiet for a moment before placing his hand over the dogs paw.

"It's okay" he responded after a moment "Because you're here now"

Brian smiled warmly and after a moment he sighed

"So, you said you had some things to tell me?"

"Heat of the moment, I suppose. It hardly seems important"

"Well it is. To me, anyways"

Stewie was quiet for a moment, before launching into stories of his miserable time here. He hid no detail, making no attempt to hide from the dog just how much he'd missed him, and how much being abandoned by him had hurt. They sat there for what felt like hours, Brian's ears attentively perked as the child spoke, occasionally taking a pause to collect himself, and the dogs attention never wavered.

"I'm sorry" Brian said once more when the child finally finished his story, one of Stewie's hands held tenderly in his paw "I wish I could help"

"You can, Brian. I have a plan. And all you have to do is visit me every day"

Brian couldn't help but smirk, joy bubbling in his chest at the familiar devious tone in the child's voice.

"I think I can do that" he agreed

BOOMBABY

Days passed quickly for Stewie when he had his furry companion with him, and the doctors were impressed by Stewie's rate of recovery, and like he had hoped they were attributing it to Brian and his visits.

It took months –six of them to be exact- for the doctors to call Brian in. when the dog entered the room and spotted Stewie in a chair as well as a few of the doctors, he feared the worst. However, at the child's eager and warm smile he relaxed, hopping into a seat and taking the child's hand in his paw.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Griffin" the first doctor –a blonde woman with green eyes, freckles dusting her cheeks and chest, clad in a purple blouse and white pants- greeted him warmly "I trust you are well?"

"Very. And yourself?" he asked

"Very well" she nodded in thanks "I am Doctor Hieber. This is my partner, Doctor Taylor" she gestured to a woman next to her with bubblegum pink hair, vibrant blue eyes, freckles lightly dusting her chest, and was clad in a bright green blouse and black jeans

"Nice to meet you" he nodded

"And you" she smiled

"We called you in here today, to discuss Stewart" she turned her gaze upon the child for a moment before returning it to the dog "We have been watching, and noticed the child's improvement seems to factor on your presence. Since you began visiting, he has steadily improved, and we believe, if he continues on this path, we could release him back into society"

"And?" the dog prompted, tail wagging slightly

"We would like to release him under your care" Dr. Taylor spoke this time

"What?" he gasped

"Stewart always regressed whenever his family visited, and so we do not think it is a wise idea to release him back into the care of his family. As a government facility we are fully within our rights in granting custody of this child to you, and already have legal backup should you agree to take him in" Dr. Hieber explained

"You don't have to answer right now, understand, but-" Dr. Taylor began, but he cut her off

"I'll do it"

"You understand you would no longer be able to remain a resident of Spooner street with the Griffin family, correct?" Dr. Taylor asked

Brian swallowed thickly and nodded

"I understand. And I'll do it"

Stewie was visibly relieved, and the doctors both smiled in approval and nodded

"Very well. If Stewart continues on his path of improvement he will be released into your care within four months" she nodded to herself "After that time you will have one month to gather your belongings and vacate your Spooner street home. If it is brought to our attention that you have disobeyed these rules and, after the month is up, you are still a resident of Spooner street with the Griffins, Stewart will be immediately taken from your custody and placed in a foster home. Do you understand?"

Brian nodded firmly

"I understand"

"Very well" she nodded "We will call you when the time comes. There will be a few papers to sign"

"Alright. Thank you" he nodded

"Thank you" she replied, and he knew he had been dismissed

He released Stewie's hand, offering a warm smile –which the child returned- before hopping up and leaving the room.
