Chapter 39: The Final Chapter! Team 7's Mission

It's been a week since Tsunade was appointed as the new Hokage of Konoha, everyone in the village welcomed her wholeheartedly, there was a slight problem with Konohamaru but Naruto helped him get over it.

Sasuke, Sakura, Naruto, and Shikamaru are standing in front of the Hokage, with the rest of the Rookie Nine standing behind them along with their sensei and a bunch of Chūnin and Jōnin.

"Nara Shikamaru of Team 10... Uchiha Sasuke of Team 7... Haruno Sakura of Team 7... Uzumaki Naruto of Team 7... For showing great skills and performing well in the Chūnin exams... As the Hokage of Konoha, I now promote you as Chūnin level Shinobi" Tsunade said with a proud smile on her face as she hand them their Flak Jacket.

The people cheer, their friends being the loudest.

Naruto punch his fist in the air with a huge grin on his face, "HELL YEAH! WE'RE CHŪNIN!"

Sakura laughs at his childishness before looking at Shikamaru's confuse face, "What's wrong with you?"

Shikamaru looks at her, "It's nothing, I'm just... Confuse... I can understand why you and your team got promoted, but... Why me?"

Sakura punches him lightly on the shoulder, "Because you're smart and a great tactician, you may not see it Shika, but you have the potential of becoming one of the greatest tactician Konoha has ever had... So just be proud that you're now a Chūnin."

Shikamaru gave her a lazy smile, "Thanks Sakura."

Sakura wink at him, "Don't mention it."

"Teme, look, look, I'm a Chūnin now" Naruto said bouncing in front of his annoyed best friend.

Sasuke gritted his teeth, "I can see that you moron."

Naruto pouted before turning his attention on his pink haired best friend, "Sakura-chan look I'm a-"

Sakura cut him off by punching him across the room, "BAKA!"

"Ne, Kakashi, I bet you're proud that all your students are now Chūnin" Asuma said grinning while lighting his cigarette.

Kakashi smile behind his mask, his visible eye shining with pride, "Hai, aren't you proud of your student?"

"Of course I am, couldn't be more proud" Asuma said staring at Shikamaru with a proud smile on his face.

"Why are we here?" Sasuke ask crossing his arms on his chest.

Tsuande's eye brow twitch at his lack of manner, "I have an A-rank mission for Team 7."

Sakura raise an eye brow, "What is it?"

"I want the three of you to assassinate Sound Four" Tsunade said leaning back on her chair, assessing the team's reaction.

"Shouldn't this be an S-rank mission?" Sakura ask, if she's feeling nervous or anything at all she didn't show it.

"I can't assign you three on an S-rank mission, since technically you're still a Chūnin, I'm not even suppose to send you on an A-rank mission, but I'm pretty sure the three of you can carry on this mission without a hitch or being detected by both side of the party" Tsunade said confidently.

Naruto blink in confusion, "I don't get it."

Sasuke sighed, "We're the only one who can kill them and not be detected by Konoha and Oto."

"Ohh, now I get it" Naruto said crossing his arms on his chest while nodding.

"When do we leave?" Sakura ask, her eyes sharpening like an ANBU's.

"You leave after you track them down" Tsunade said grabbing a sake bottle from under her table, "You're dismiss."

"Hai!" The three said before disappearing in black flames courtesy of Sasuke.

Sakura sat cross leg in the middle of her and Sasuke's bed, her eyes close as she concentrate on finding Sound Four's chakra,

"I have a question" Naruto said while staring at Sakura.

Sasuke raise an eye brow, "Nani?"

"How is she suppose to look for Sound Four's chakra since I'm pretty sure she never met them" Naruto said rubbing his chin thoughtfully.

"Her Kekkei Genkai... All she have to do is picture them in her mind, look for their Chakra and that's it" Sasuke said with a shrug.

Sakura's eyes shot open, "I found them" she stood up and walked to where Naruto and Sasuke are standing, "They're heading towards Konoha's direction."

"Why are they heading here?" Naruto ask his eyes widen.

Sakura shrug, "Probably to kill Sasuke-kun for killing their master."

"Hn, let's go" Sasuke said, his teammates nodded.

"Hurry up, fatso!" Tayuya yelled glaring angrily at Jirōbō.

Jirōbō gritted his teeth, he shot her a daggered look, "Stop calling me that, it's not my fault I'm hungry."

"YES IT IS!" Tayuya yelled stomping her foot on the ground angrily.

Sakon sighed irritably, "You two, shut it."

"Let them be, maybe they'll end up killing each other later" Kidōmaru said with an excited look on his face.

Before Tayuya can give them a piece of her mind, three figures walk towards them.

"Who the hell are you?" Tayuya ask glaring at them.

Naruto smirk while tightening the knot of his forehead protector, "We're no one."

Jirōbō placed his food on the ground before standing beside his team, "You three must be an idiot."

"Why is that?" Sakura ask raising an eye brow, a flicker of amusement showing in her eyes before it disappear, leaving her eyes void of emotion.

"For standing in front of us with the person we're going to murder" Sakon said staring at Sasuke.

Sasuke cross his arms on his chest with his usual Uchiha look, "Hn."

Naruto scoff, "Like hell you will."

Kidōmaru's eyes light with excitement and malice, "I'm going to enjoy toying with you people."

"I'll take her" Sakura said, her attention focus on Tayuya.

Tayuya smirk, "I'd like to see you try, bitch."

"I'll take the fat guy and the guy with six hands " Naruto said cracking his knuckles.

"Aa" Sasuke said staring blankly at Sakon.

Sakura pouted, "This is so unfair, how come the two of you gets to fight two opponents."

Sasuke turns his attention to her, "You can fight him when he arrive, will that make you happy?"

Sakura smiles brightly, "Hai."

"Alright! Let's get this party started" Naruto said while doing some hand seals, "Fūton: Tatsumaki no gōon " he breathes out a tornado blast heading towards Sound Four.

Sound Four scattered around the forest before the attack can reach them, Jirōbō ended up on the bottom of a cliff with Kidōmaru, Tayuya ended up in a huge clearing surrounded by grass, and Sakon ended up on top of a river. Their eyes widen in shock.

"How in the world..." Sakon trailed off as he watch Sasuke walk towards him, he glared at him, "What the fuck is going on, how did I end up here?"

Sakura smirk as she stare at Tayuya's disbelief look, "It's easy really, I sensed your team before you guys entered this forest..."

"... So Sakura-chan and Sasuke-teme created a Genjutsu surrounding the entire forest..." Naruto continue, watching his two opponent.

"... A powerful Genjutsu that allows me and Sakura to alternate your thoughts and to manipulate it..." Sasuke explain in a monotone.

"In other words, the second you entered the forest, you've been traveling with an illusion, allowing me and Sasuke-kun to lead you where we want to fight you..." Sakura said putting on her fingerless gloves.

"Teme thought that it would be better if we fight you guys separately to finish this mission quickly... My attack earlier was the trigger for the Genjutsu to disperse" Naruto said with a shrug of his shoulder.

"Enough talking... Let's get this show started" Sakura said her eyes turning red.

"Hai" Sasuke and Naruto said both their eyes turning red.

Sakura run towards Tayuya her fist filled with chakra, Tayuya place her flute on her mouth and started playing a melody, 3 demon-like creatures appear in front of her, shielding her from Sakura. Sakura punch the first demon who came in contact with her fist, sending it flying across the clearing and crashing through the trees, sending it back where it belong.

"1 monkey down, 2 more to go" Sakura said cracking her neck.

Sasuke raise an eye brow as he hear a huge crash somewhere in the forest, "Hn, looks like Sakura started her match..."

Sakon suddenly appear in front of him, "You should learn how to focus on your enemy" he said, Ukon's arms sprouting from one of his as they send a punch towards Sasuke, only to be send flying across the river after Sasuke sent his own fist before their fist can even reach him.

"You're the strongest and fastest member of Sound Four, right? Surpassed only by Kimimaro..." Sasuke said standing in front of him.

Sakon's eyes widen in shock, "How did you...?"

Sasuke shrug, "Doesn't matter, you're all going to die by the end of the day anyway."

Sakon started laughing, "You're way too confident..."

"Maybe" Sasuke said nonchalantly, Raikiri's lightning cracking in his hand.

"Doton: Doryō Dango" Jirōbō lifts up the very surface of the earth, hurling it towards Naruto.

"Fūton: Rasengan" Naruto said countering the ball of earth using his wind infused Rasengan, sending debris of rocks flying everywhere.

Kidōmaru jumps in the air, releasing a chakra imbued thread-like web, "Kumosōkai."

Naruto tried to avoid it only to still be captured by the web, "Fuck!" He said as he struggle to free himself.

"There's no point in struggling, that web is imbued with my chakra" Kidōmaru said standing beside Jirōbō, watching as Naruto try to break free from the web.

Naruto gritted his teeth, he close his eyes, letting Kurama's chakra surround his body, transforming into his 4-tailed form.

Kidōmaru and Jirōbō's eyes widen in shock.

"What the hell is he?" Kidōmaru ask staring at the beast in front of him in disbelief.

Tayuya gritted her teeth as she watch the last of her Doki disappear in a puff of smoke.

Sakura smirk as she stare at Tayuya's angry eyes, "What are you going to do now that you're puppets are gone?"

The sound Kunoichi glared at her with malice, she started playing her flute, her body transforming into the second level of her cursed seal.

Sakon tries to stand with shaking legs, only for Sasuke to appear in front of him, kicking him with so much force that send him crashing through the trees on the other side of the river. Sakon heard a cracking sound behind him before he could react, the Raikiri hit him yet again on his already bruised stomach.

"Aren't you suppose to be the fastest and strongest member of Sound Four?" Sasuke said tauntingly, his face blank while he watch in hidden satisfaction as Sakon separate himself from Ukon.

"You're dead now Uchiha" Sakon and Ukon said, their body transforming into the second level of their cursed seal.

Jirōbō and Kidōmaru lay on the ground, their bodies covered in bruises.

"Is that the best you could do?" Naruto/Kurama ask standing a feet away from them.

Kidōmaru glared at him as he pick himself up, his body along with Jirōbō transforming into the second level of their cursed seal.

"The real fight starts now" Tayuya said running towards Sakura in full speed.

Sakura cross her arms in front of her to block Tayuya's attacks, she gritted her teeth ducking her body, pumping her fist with chakra and punching Tayuya on the stomach causing her to stumble back and lose her focus.

Sakura started doing some hand seals, "Raiton: Aka Raiu" the peaceful white clouds turned into a storm cloud with red lightning emitting from it.

"I'm ending this" Sakura said controlling the lightning to hit Tayuya.

Tayuya uses her flute to block the lightning, her eyes widen when her flute break into half, she jump away to avoid the next hit of lighting, she continue to jump to avoid the lightnings, failing to notice that Sakura's no longer where she last saw her.

While Tayuya was busy avoiding the lightnings, a blue sphere-like ball of fire appear on Sakura's hand, inside the sphere was a small tornado, unlike the time she used it on Sasuke, the fire of the sphere is much darker, the small tornado inside it is rotating much faster than before and a hint of green chakra is emitting from it.

"Saizekyū!"

Tayuya's eyes widen, screaming in agony as her whole body lit up with blue flames, the inside of her body rotating like a tornado is inside it. Sakura watch with emotionless eyes as Tayuya's body turn into ashes, a seal appearing on the place where Tayuya's ashes were located before it disappear along with the ashes.

Sakura close her eyes not bothering to address the person standing a couple of feet behind her, "Took you long enough to get here."

"You have been waiting for me. All this time, you were fighting Tayuya out of boredom, am I correct?" Kimimaro ask walking towards her.

Sakura narrow her emotionless eyes, feeling Kimimaro standing behind her, "Not quite... I was fighting her because I was given a mission to kill her, I could have done it without much effort..."

"But you prolonged it because I was not here yet" Kimimaro said in a matter of fact.

Sakura smirk, "Aa."

Jirōbō run towards Naruto with his fist raise, one of the nine tails of Kurama caught his fist before he could even reach Naruto and threw him across the boulder. Kurama roared, pulling out the golden arrow-like spider web Kidōmaru shot at him, the wound left by the arrow started to heal despite it hitting him an inch beside his heart.

"He's here" Naruto thought sensing Kimimaro's chakra near Sakura's.

"Then let's finish this, switch with me" Kurama said with a huge sadistic grin on his face. Naruto sighed switching with him.

"You're nightmare begins now" Kurama said grinning manically, catching the arrow heading towards him, he threw it back to Kidōmaru twice as fast, he grab Jirōbō by the neck before he can even reach him, "You're weak."

Jirōbō gritted his teeth using all his strength to remove Naruto/Kurama's hand gripping his neck, he tried to absorb his chakra to no vail, Kidōmaru keeps on shooting arrows towards Kurama but it keeps bouncing off.

"F-fuck Y-You..." Jirōbō breathed out while glaring at Naruto/Kurama before losing consciousness and dying.

"Che" Kurama scoff letting Jirōbō's body hit the ground, "What a waste of my time."

Naruto shook his head, "You're way too brutal."

Kurama smirk, "Trust me boy, you haven't seen brutal yet."

Naruto sighed, "I wish I haven't..."

Kurama turns around, "You're next Spider-Man" he said while walking towards Kidōmaru.

Kidōmaru gritted his teeth, shooting his arrows faster than before, none of it manage to hit Kurama, his eyes widen in shock as a breeze blew past him.

"Hello" Kurama said standing behind him, before he can even react his neck snap into two.

Naruto wince, switching back with Kurama, he burned Jirōbō and Kidōmaru's corpses and place a seal on their wake.

"Kuchiyose: Rashōmon" a menacing gate emerge from the ground, shielding Sakon and Ukon from Sasuke.

Sasuke stared blankly at the gate, he unsealed Taito, infusing it with his lightning chakra and running towards the gate. The twins' eyes widen in shock as their ultimate defense crumble into the ground.

"It's over" Sasuke said standing behind them, in a blink of an eye, he thrust his Taito into Sakon's heart, his Chidori spear thrust into Ukon's.

Sasuke pulled back his sword, turning around and walking away with Amaterasu's flames engulfing the twins fallen bodies.

Naruto has been leaning on a huge rock outside of Otogakure while waiting for Sasuke to finish his match, "Took you long enough, Teme."

"Hn... Let's go, we still have a village to destroy" Sasuke said jumping on top of the rock to get a better view of the village he used to live in.

"Have you ever thought of this place as your home?" Naruto ask standing beside him.

Sasuke shook his head, "Never..."

"Thought so..." Naruto said with a hint of smile on his face.

Sasuke looks at him from the corner of his onyx eyes, "Let's get this mission over with."

Naruto nodded in agreement, "Hai."

Sakura back flip to avoid being stab by the bone blades that emerged from Kimimaro's body, "This is trickier than I thought it would be."

Kimimaro stares at her with mild confusion, "I have no reason to kill you, the only person I want to kill is the person who killed Orochimaru-sama, Uchiha Sasuke... Why are you so intent on fighting me?"

"You may not have a reason to kill me, but I do have a reason to kill you..." Sakura said activating her Omegan.

Kimimaro raise an eye brow in confusion, "Nani?"

"You just said you want to kill my boyfriend" Sakura said in a blink of an eye she disappear.

Kimimaro tried to sense her chakra to no vail, he tripled his guard making sure not to make any sudden movement. An attack came out of nowhere, several bones pop out all at once from his body, blocking all the attacks heading towards him.

Sakura smirk watching as Kimimaro dance around the field, "Looks like my plan worked, now for the final part" she thought while doing some hand seals, "Saize-" she stop mid-Jutsu when she saw Kimimaro changing form.

"This is not good" Sakura said biting her lower lip, "And here I thought this battle would be quick..." She sighed releasing the Genjutsu.

Kimimaro stares at her in surprise, "That was a Genjutsu?"

"Hai... And it was also part of my trump card" Sakura said in an irritated tone, "You transformed into your second-level cursed seal... Which means I'm going to start fighting a monster... And in order to win the fight, I'm gonna have to transform into a monster myself... Troublesome..."

"What are you talking about? A person like you can never transform into a monster" Kimimaro said glaring at her.

Sakura raise an eye brow, "You have no idea what I'm capable of" she said the white part of her eyes turning red, her emerald eyes changing into a pupil-less black, green chakra emitting and cloaking her entire body much like Naruto when he uses his Kyūby mode.

Kimimaro's eyes widen in shock before he can even say or do anything, he was sent flying across the field, Sakura appears above him, landing a deadly punch on his stomach. She did a couple of back flips away from him while doing some hand seals before slamming her palm on the ground, "Kuchiyose: Genso Raion" 5 Lions appear beside her, each of it representing the 5 chakra nature.

"Hime" the Lions said simultaneously while bowing their head.

"Aa... Kill him" Sakura commanded, her eyes glowing.

"Hai" the Lions said, running towards Kimimaro as fast as lightning.

Sasuke and Naruto stare at the ruined village in front of them, bodies lay on the ground with flames engulfing their bodies.

"That was easier than I thought it would be" Naruto said rubbing the back of his neck.

"We already took care of the elite Shinobi, It would have been troublesome if they were still alive" Sasuke said shrugging his shoulder, "Hey, you're back."

Sakura appear beside him, "Hai... Mission get rid of Sound Four is done."

"And our personal mission, destroy Otogakure and get Orochimaru's summoning contract is done" Naruto added with a grin on his face.

Sasuke raise an eye brow, "Get Orochimaru's summoning contract?"

Naruto shrug, "We know that it's your mission but since you're a member of team 7, it's our mission too."

Sasuke scoff, "Whatever."

Sakura elbow him playfully, "You're flattered."

Sasuke glared at his girlfriend, "I am not."

Sakura shook her head while rolling her eyes, "By the way, did you guys see Kabuto?"

"No actually we didn't" Naruto said looking at Sasuke for confirmation.

Sasuke nodded, "Aa."

"Oh well, it's not like he's a threat or anything" Sakura said, disregarding it.

Naruto yawns while stretching his arms, "Let's go home."

"Hai" Sasuke and Sakura said.

The three of them walk away leaving the destroyed village behind them.
