THIS IS IMPORTANT!

This is going to be my last chapter for Unheroic Deeds. Sorry, guys. I just don't have many laughable situations left that could be applied to PJO. And I hate having this hanging over my head, knowing people are waiting for me to update. So enjoy this while you can!

Chapter 10: Paul, Percy & Co.

Between BotL and TLO

Since dating Sally Jackson, Paul had had some pretty strange experiences- flying water bottles, missing frying pans, random trips to the "store", late-night rendezvous's with a strange goth kid- which Paul had termed "Percy Problems". But this trumped all by tenfold.

The day had begun normally; Paul sitting at the kitchen table nursing a cup of coffee, Sally making pancakes for Percy (who had come home at three in the morning last night with a loud crash and a few explicit words). Percy himself shuffled into the kitchen, looking like he'd gotten into a fight with a sleep monster. His hair was tousled, and there were dark bags under his eyes like he hadn't gotten any sleep. He slumped down at the kitchen table and began picking at his pancakes.

Then the doorbell rang.

Percy looked up like a deer caught in the headlights of a car. He shared a glance with his mother, then Sally walked over to the door and opened it.

"Hello?" she asked. There were two teenage boys standing there. They were identical, save for the fact that one was taller than the other. "Are you looking for Percy?"

Percy looked over at the door and his mouth dropped open. "Connor? Travis? What are you two doing here?"

The two boys walked in, grinning mischievously. "Well, Percy-" one began.

"-after you sorta ditched us last night-" the second added.

"-we decided to pay you a visit-" the was the first one again.

"-and make sure you were okay." the second one finished.

Percy raised an eyebrow. "Clearly, I'm alive. Now can you leave? I don't want you around any more pointy objects than necessary."

Their grins slightly faded. "Well, Percy, um... we were kinda worried when you never came back..."

"So we may have possibly hypothetically told Annabeth."

Percy's eyes widened and he looked like he was about to explode.

"WHAT?"

There was silence, and sure enough, the faint sound of stomps came down the hallway. Connor and Travis squeaked and darted out of the kitchen, farther into the apartment. Five seconds later, the door flew open to reveal Annabeth in all her blond-haired, gray-eyed glory.

"Perseus Jackson," she began, glaring at the fifteen-year-old boy still sitting at the kitchen table. Percy raised his hand in a little half-wave.

"Hi," he said.

Annabeth took a breath and began her monologue. "Why in Hades did you not report back? Do you know how worried we've been!? You could have been lying in a ditch somewhere, dying-"

"Actually, I couldn't have. Maybe lying in a ditch sleeping," Percy tried to head off the furious girl. That just seemed to make Annabeth angrier. "Um, I kinda have to go take a shower now..." Percy slowly got up and promptly ran to the bathroom. There were a couple of grunts, and Connor and Travis were kicked out of the bathroom, where they had taken refuge.

The two boys slowly entered the kitchen, watching Annabeth guardedly. From the bathroom, there came a shout of surprise then a yell,

"WHY IN HADES' UNDERPANTS ARE THERE FISH IN THE BATHTUB?!" Everyone in the kitchen was silent as they listened to the thumps and grunts and the occasional shout of pain. Everyone turned to look at the two boys, who grinned nervously.

Five minutes later, Percy emerged from the bathroom looking renewed. He promptly threw a bag full of goldfish at Connor's head.

Annabeth prepared to continue her lecture, but before she could, the front door opened yet again, to reveal a girl in punk clothes and a silver tiara.

"Yo, Jackson," she called out. "Did you give the Barbies permission to decorate my cabin?"

Percy looked confused. "No," he said slowly. He turned to the two lookalikes. "Did you?"

Travis snorted. "Of course not. Don't be ridiculous."

Thalia, Annabeth, and Percy shared a glance. "Denial," they said at the same time.

Then, what seemed like the hundredth time that morning, the door opened to reveal a pretty girl in fashionable pink clothes.

"Silena?" Percy asked incredulously.

"Percy!" she gasped. "I swear it wasn't us. Don't let Thalia kill us!"

Thalia rolled her eyes. "Well, who else would have covered the cabin in roses?"

"Maybe Nico? To commemorate the whole "kissed by a rose on a grave" thing?" Connor suggested.

Thalia looked furious. "Are you implying that one of us broke the oath?"

"Or joining the Hunters is going to your grave," Travis suggested.

Before Thalia could explode, Nico walked in from Percy's bedroom. "What I want to know," he said, glaring, "is why Blackjack was prancing around outside my cabin like a demented My Little Pony!"

"He didn't deny it," Travis pointed out. Within three seconds, the entire room was in chaos. But it wasn't normal chaos. This was real chaos. People were arguing while the electrical sockets sparked, Paul's glass of water got knocked over by some unknown force, and the fish in the plastic bag began swimming around in a frenzy. Paul looked at Sally with wide eyes. She shrugged, like this was normal.

"Percy!" she shouted over the din. Everybody got quiet. "Maybe you could take this outside?"

Just then, for the final time, the door opened. A large, bulky girl was in the doorway, glaring at the crowd. "Where's Prissy?" she yelled. "He is in so much trouble for ditching us last night."

Annabeth turned around to face Percy. "See?" she said.

Percy swallowed and looked at all the people ready to kill him. "Let's take this outside," he decided. They all piled out of the apartment, leaving Paul and Sally alone in strange quietness.

"Well that was different."
