SonicANIME2010 here, bringing in another chapter to Lyrical Record. Rather interesting turn of events here as I'm giving coverage to the type of magic that the Nanoha series includes in the way of options. Strike Arts, Summons, Golem creations, most of it for combat purposes. I dare anyone to find magic that'll top this. Here we go!

[Local time: 0845 appx]

It was an absolutely beautiful morning at the Training Field attachment of Hotel Alpine on the world of Carnaaji. The sun blessed the field with its early shine, very little breeze to speak of, but it was peaceful; and we find Vivio and Einhart staring down one another in battle stances, gathering up mana. Wait, what?

This was the first of what would've been many matches for training. 14 mages were separated into respective teams. Nanoha's blue team consisted of Sonic, Subaru, Vivio, Erio, Lutecia and Rio while Fate's red team had Einhart, Alicia, Nove, Corona, Teana and Caro. They were playing by the Life points system often used by the DSAA in their magic tournaments. At the moment, the only two who had taken any form of damage were Vivio and Einhart, both tied at 2600.

'I'll create an opening with rapid shots!' Vivio thought to herself as she readied out a set of spells to use against Einhart, "Sonic Shooter Assault Shift!"

"Kaiser Art.." Einhart softly declared, not really needing to set a mental plan up for herself as she readied her own technique in response, "Cyclonic Wave"

Meanwhile, Sonic and Alicia had broken off another clashing stalemate. Even though Sonic was holding back for obvious reasons against the young blonde, that did not mean he was going to be making things easy for her as she would still have to matchup with him; that also showed in their points. He didn't take any off of her that she didn't answer back and vice versa.

"Alright Alicia, here it is; my spindash attack." The blue hedgehog declared in a competitive fashion as he rolled into said attack and prepared to rush off against her, "Hit me if you can."

"Thanks for the invitation" Alicia grinned and readied herself.

And another point shift later, Corona and Rio had caused probably the biggest stir of the whole match so far as Corona had summoned up a huge golem while Rio had utilized a combination spell technique of her own to counteract it.

"Under the name of Corona and Brunzell.. I, your creator and her device command you!" Corona declared and ordered to her golem, "Suppress the opposition! Golem!"

'En Ryuu!" Rio declared, preparing her spells to counteract, "Rai Ryuu!"

Things were certainly heating up; whatever happens here? Let's face it, nobody knows.

There were 7 mages for each team, all of them had their respective rivals to contend with on the other side, which made for an excellent does of one-on-one matchup duels early. The Center Guards of each team, Nanoha and Teana, traded shooting spells with one another. Erio and Fate, the respective Guard Wings, had clashed with one another in an aerial melee duel.

With Subaru and Nove, they too had their own classic melee clash whilst riding their respective Wing Road and Air Liner. This was to little surprise as the duo of "sisters" have always had a bit of a competitive rivalry between the two. As far as their life points, they were tied with 2900 after trading shots for 100 points.

"Whoa!" Sein, dressed in her Saint Church uniform, watched the action in awe, probably wishing she had popcorn or something, "Everyone is so into this!"

"Indeed" Megane commented as she focused on the screen which displayed the life status of the teams.

"The Center Guards halted their advance." The cyborg commented as she read a screen with all of the formations and team members on display, "Formations on both sides are maintained. The Full Backs on both sides have also finished the support adjustments."

"Now all that's left is for us to see where the balance will shift between the front attackers" Megane noted, "This should be an interesting turn either way, however."

Speaking of front liners, Vivio and Einhart were well locked in to their matchup. Vivio had recently unleashed a volley of her Sonic Shooter rounds, hoping that Einahrt would take them head on, which she did, to the girl's satisfaction. Her intent was to rush in with the flow of her shots and then feint at the last minute to slip through the girl's block and hopefully catch her wide open.

Whether Einhart was aware of the blonde's plan or not, she did not let it come to pass as hoped. While she did take on the shots, she also caught them all. To even further that surprise, the energy from the shots were not dissipating. Things went from bad to worse for Vivio as she noticed Einhart in a particular stance of the Kaiser Arts.

In no shortage of time, Einhart utilized her Cyclonic Wave and literally threw the shots right back at Vivio. Although the latter girl's block mitigated the damage somewhat, she still took a heavy dose of damage, approximated at 800 life and she was also pushed back a good deal. Einahrt was not finished there; she then took advantage of Vivio's wide open condition and hit her hard with a solid left hook strike to her side and sent Vivio down to a harsh impact with the ground. No doubt that one would be felt in the morning, but for Vivio, the main issue now was that her life points were down to 800.

"Was that a shot reflection?!" Sein asked in complete shock as she observed the powerful technique.

"Iie.. it's not a reflection, absorb-and-emit, or anything similar to those" Megane shook her head and corrected the cyborg, "Rather, she literally and forcefully stopped Vivio's shots short and threw them back."

"Is that actually possible?" Sein still had trouble believing it, "Even things like this…"

"We are talking about a true Ancient Belkan practitioner here. It is possible in theory" Megane calmly informed, though she held a serious expression in doing so, 'However, to bring such a technique into manifestation in her tender age… even if she wields the Ancient Belkan… Just what kind of cruelity did she put herself through? even if it is for training…"

"Huh? Megane-san, she's acting a bit strange now." Sein pointed out the view screen as it showed Einhart favoring her right shoulder with a -300 deduction to put her life at 2300, "Eh? How in the world?"

"You didn't see it? That was a counterattack Vivio made before Einhart got the last blow in." Megane rewinded the view screen footage a bit to show Vivio getting a left hook in on Einhart's right shoulder beforehand, "Had her attack been timed better, things would've been drastically different."

'To be able to make a counter attack of that much strength in that situation..' Einhart thought in some admiration as she stretched out that right shoulder and slowly made her way towards Vivio again to engage her, 'Vivio-san, you are definitely…'

"Einhart! STOP!" Teana's sudden call to the girl stopped her in her tracks, "Judging from the impact, Vivio's already weakened enough to not be an issue. Use this opportunity to break through into the heart of their formation. Your new target is the Center Guard, Nanoha Takamachi"

"I…" if Einhart was going to make a retort, the silence she got following Teana's communicated order gave her little room to argue, "Got it!"

Meanwhile, from Vivio's standpoint, she managed to seat herself up from Einhart's latest attack. She was nothing short of being fired up from it too. She couldn't help but be amazed from seeing the abilities that Einhart had shown in their most recent spar and she wanted more. However, as this was also a team match, a concept that had momentarily eluded Vivio, it did not elude Lutecia. The summon-mage and fullback did not approve of the reckless action of attempting to assault with the Life points down to 3 digits.

"Vivio, stop!" the girl ordered via communication, "I want you to heal up for a bit, so come back here first."

"Ehh?!" Vivio blinked and halted, "B-but.."

"Things will get very sticky if one of our three main attackers get shot down right from the get go." Lutecia's tone shifted to one of the more serious ones that, while it may not hold a candle up to Nanoha's or Fate's, it certainly was by no means one to argue with, "So come back here now!"

"~Hai!" Vivio gave out a rather defeated answer and complied by the order. She may currently have the body of a fit busty teen that others would probably be jealous of, but she still was a ten year old girl at heart.

Meanwhile, Corona and her Golem were squaring off with Rio. It was a powerful matchup for the two to square off in trading blows. Rio's magic-enhanced attacks were able to keep the large construct at bay, but she was also held somewhat in check as she couldn't do much to get to Corona with that Golem facing her.

As for Corona, she found out the hard and embarrassing way how seating herself on the shoulder of her construct might not have been the ideal of vantage points. Her construct flailed its arms wildly but effectively so as one of its haymaker shots caught Rio and smacked her into a building.

"P-probably.. not at good idea for me to be up there while the Golem's attacking like that.." the dizziness evident in her face and expression, Corona stated her feelings as she touched down to the ground.

"I think so too." Her device chimed, almost dryly as if to say "duh". To both of their surprise, Rio stepped out from where she was sent to, calmly and impressed.

'Not bad, Corona' Rio thought in complimentary fashion. She did not get out of that mess unscathed as she took a huge hit of 1100 to her Life, leaving her with 1700, 'Agile manipulation to thise extent, of a complex creation, definitely not possible with an average person.'

"Her damage is less than the expectation" Brunzell, developing a penchant for pointing out the obvious, informed.

"Rio-san's also quite talented in her defensive maneuvers" Corona added in comment.

'Must be the fruit of extensive researches and practices.' Rio, once again, began to settle into a stance, 'But in terms of the amount of practice poured in behind the scenes, and in terms of the resolution to achieve victory.. I am the same in every aspect!'

Once again she rushed up towards Corona and the huge golem. Magical energy coursing through her body, enhancing it greatly with the elemental affinities of fire and lightning, she took a big leap up and readied herself to unleash a huge attack.

"Ready… and TAKE THIS!" Rio unleashed a powerful downward kick that, combined with her flame and lightning magic affinity, made her Rumbling Thunder Cannon very effective in driving the huge golem into the ground.

Meanwhile, the wonders of pre-teen adorable youth that were Vivio Takamachi were easily enjoyed by Lutecia as the support mage utilized her healing magic to heal Vivio's wounds and restore LIFE points. She was watching the exchange between Corona and Rio and couldn't help but feel impressed for Rio's strength.

"Ugh, Lulu!" Vivio, so adorably cute no matter if she's in her child form or "adult" form; displayed some of her 10 year old impatience, "Healing! Hurry! Hurry! I want back in!"

"No need to be hasty" Lutecia calmly declined her from doing so, noting that her healing had only restored 500 of Vivio's life, totaling it to 1200, but going up, "Wait until you're fully recovered. Besides, our teammates won't be going down so easily."

With the Guard Wings, the clashing of Erio and Fate made for a familiar matchup of pupil and teacher. From Fate's perspective, Erio had definitely grown stronger. She stopped holding back a little while ago but she still wasn't able to get in for a clean hit on the young boy. Her life points sat at a solid 2500 after a 300 deduction.

"Erio! Lutecia here" Erio paused between his clash to listen to what the girl had to say, "I need a little bit more time to give Vivio some healing. Could you keep Fate-san busy?"

"I can do that." The boy answered and readied his device, Strada, for another go at Fate. His Life points were at a solid 2600 following a small 200 cut.

"All members of Team Blue.. Repeat! Lutecia to all members of Team Blue" Lutecia declared out to her teammates, "After Vivio's recovery, we will initiate the operation as we have planned. So please be ready for action at any second when I'm done."

"Okay!" Sonic, Nanoha, Subaru, Nove, Rio and Erio acknowledged in simultaneous fashion.

Meanwhile on the Red Team's side, Teana was busy spreading her Crossfire Shoot around to counteract with the rounds which Nanoha would answer back with in turn, but it was merely for show as none of the rounds even came close to anyone yet as they were negated.

"TIA-SAN!" Caro almost yelled the gun-mage's ears off with her transmission, "Lu-chan seems to be scheming something!"

"Not if I have anything to say about it…" No pressure, none at all for Teana, who remained calm, "Whatever her plan is."

Einhart, uncontested, made her way towards the Blue Team's Center Guard, looking to engage her. As Teana had ordered her, she was to keep Nanoha busy with whatever she could use against the woman.

"Vivio-san's mother!" Einhart called out to the woman, "I shall look forward to this exchange"

"Hai" Nanoha calmly smiled and held Raising Heart in her hands, "I will be honored."
