Karmic Irony
"Thank you, for saving my son."
"Well, you know...most of him"
Hiccup laughed at the karmic irony when he finally woke up.
A leg for a wing. We were even.
Toothless gawked at the contraption where his leg once was, then nuzzled Hiccup's stomach remorsefully.
"Hey, it okay. I destroyed your wing and you pulled off my leg...now we're even," Hiccup chuckled, lightly stroking Toothless without blame. "Think of it this way, if you hadn't taken off my leg...I would be dead right now...so technically you saved my life." Hiccup murmured compassionately. Toothless stared at Hiccup's face to make sure he was being genuine. He must of found the answer, he nudged Hiccup outside and knelt waiting for Hiccup to get on.
The contraption in place of Hiccup's leg was brilliant, a real exceptional piece of machinery...but it had its flaws. It was excruciating, using it for hours was tiring and painful.
Toothless was Hiccup's way of getting anywhere, and Hiccup was Toothless's way of getting everywhere.
They were each other's missing puzzle piece. Literally.
