Luke lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. He'd just been woken from sleep by his father's plea. He wanted to respond – wanted to tell Vader there was just no way he was going to cooperate – but something was tugging in the back of his mind, urging him to consider the offer.

Was it so wrong to want to go with his father?

Luke recalled the moment on Bespin when the thought had crossed his mind, and promptly pushed the memory away. He was a Jedi, Vader a Sith. Going with his father would mean Falling – giving up the Jedi for the horrors of the Sith. Luke would not allow himself to Fall.

His resolve strengthened, Luke reached out tentatively to answer his father's call. I can't come with you. I won't allow myself to become a Sith. Not even if it means you'll never know your father?

How had that thought come into his mind? Was it his, or had Vader planted it there as bait? Luke shook his head to clear it and waited for his father's reply.

And what objections do you have against the Sith? Vader questioned.

They're murderers, for one! Luke shot back.

How many lives do you think were on the Death Star which you destroyed? From your description of the Sith, my son, you yourself are one.

Luke groaned as he tried to clear his mind. His father was trying to confuse him! He couldn't respond – Vader would only use it to further his confusion.

Do you not wish to know me? Vader pressed onward, despite Luke's silence. I can teach you all you wish to know of the Force. Anything you wish, child, and it would be yours. After a brief moment of waiting, his father seemed to realize that Luke would no longer answer. Farewell, my son. Whenever you wish to talk, I shall be here.

Come with me, and we can rule the galaxy as father and son. Luke remembered his father's words well. As father and son…

Come with me…

And for a moment, he regretted not going.

As you can see, I decided to add another chapter featuring Luke.
