Arrow–Mindedness
"CAREFUL!"
But it was too late. The arrow flew straight in the air and into the lower body of a rabbit, which tried to run but had not been able to go farther. Shame it's not even what I was aiming at.
I looked at Katniss who was staring at me quizzically. I raised my eyebrows. "What? I've hit it," I said complacently.
"Uh. Let's just get to the poor thing," Katniss shrugged.
She and I approached the unfortunate creature that was already in the throes of death. We stood with the animal at our feet like members of the mafia watching their victims.
"What a brutal way to die. It's like it volunteered without knowing," Katniss muttered.
"Take it out of its misery then," I said indifferently but my insides wanted to take a stroll.
I stepped back as Katniss aimed between the rabbit's eyes. And, poof, my victim bit the dust.
"Why don't we just play the piano?" Katniss asked.
"Great idea," I said, rolling my eyes.
It might be a long time before I lay hands with an arrow again.
