Natsu leaned over her shoulder and kissed her cheek, a sandwich in the hand that he wrapped around her chest in an over-the-back-of-the-couch hug.

"You leaving for a job?" Lucy asked. Natsu was still taking random jobs around the town, saving up some traveling money for their stay here, since not doing much around the house had been driving him crazy and Stella refused to take any money.

"Yup," he said, taking a generous bite of the sandwich. With a full mouth, he continued curiously, "What's that you're doing now?"

After holding the heavy dragon book up while working on an especially tricky translation for almost two hours, her hands had started to cramp up, so she'd written down the hard part on the paper to puzzle over. It was in a strange tense, and she was having troubles making any sense of it.

Lucy opened her mouth to explain what she'd done, when Natsu said, "It will be on the festival night that the seal will be formed by the holder."

She froze.

"What?"

"Isn't that what you wrote there in your notes?" Natsu's brow wrinkled at her odd, almost strangled-sounding tone.

"Natsu," she breathed, shocked to the core.

"What?"

Hurriedly pulling out another sheet, she held it up to him and asked, "What did I write here?"

Shooting her a mystified glance, he leaned towards the paper and read, "A large number of dragons gathered. There were about 4 hundred total. The humans worried and started gathering their forces."

She felt faint. Holy crap, she was going to faint. Dizzily, she grabbed the back of the couch and let out a weak, surprised laugh.

"What? You knew I could read, didn't you?" Natsu asked, looking a little hurt at her reaction.

"No, Natsu," she shook her head, "That writing was in the dragon language."

It was his turn to be shocked.

"W-what?"

"You can read the dragon language!" Lucy shouted, excitement finally shoving away the shock and taking over. She grabbed his shoulders and shook him, "Why didn't you tell me you could read the dragon language!? How could you not know you could read it!?"

"I don't know," Natsu answered, dazed. "I told you all that Igneel taught me how to read…it must have been in the dragon language…but we spoke in our language…we…I don't get it."

"I can't believe this," Lucy shook her head. "I seriously can't believe this. This is great!"

"Yeah," Natsu said, the excitement not having set in for him yet.

"We can get on the move again!"

Lucy leaned forward and kissed him, pressing hard against him with passion, trying to speak to him in the way he always spoke to her. Natsu's own language of action that she was slowly becoming fluent in. She tried to channel her happiness and relief into the kiss. The promise of, finally, movement and action. Of going forward instead of struggling for hours on end over foreign sentences. He returned her fervor, pulling her over the back of the couch and then pressing her against it as he returned the kiss and left her breathless, telling her that he reflected these feelings.

#64 I'm Off & #65 Language

(Yay plot-ty stuff! Thanks everyone for the kind reviews! You guys are always so sweet! But, please don't complain about the length of the chapters, since I have already addressed this. The chapters vary in length because it depends on what the theme of the kiss is. If I feel like the theme only needs a few paragraphs, that's all I'm going to include. Because, not all of themes have to be so wordy and I don't like to feel pressured to stretch them out - I feel like this would just make me add a lot of redundant or unnecessary things. Remember, there are a ton of chapters, so I think the size thing can be compromised. This is the first story that I split up by themes instead of 'good chapter stopping points', but that's kinda the way this does have to be split up. I know it can be disappointing when they're smaller, but it's been this way from the very first chapter. I know it's hard to tell in text, but I'm not upset or anything, I'm just kindly asking you to stop. Thank you!)
