Disclaimer- I don't own the amazing characters.

Snape lay on the floor of the Shrieking Shack as the Nagini followed Voldemort out of the door. Blood was everywhere; pain was piercing every part of his body, it was like someone was stabbing him in the same spot again and again. And as he lay solitary on the ground, with end so close to him, an even more painful truth stabbed him- he'd die alone, like a lost man, with no one in the world who cared for him, no one to mourn his absence, no one to even grieve on his death...

And then he saw the last person on the earth he'd thought of being there approaching him- Harry Potter. Harry came and knelt down beside him, and for the first time in his life, Snape didn't see Harry as the son of James Potter, but he saw him as the son of Lily Potter. And at that moment Snape knew that Harry had to know the truth. The truth, that the boy he had been protecting all along wasn't meant to live.

The first thought that came to Snape's mind was the Pensive. Yes, it was perfect. He made the Memory Clouds, and he gave them out.

'Take... it... take... it...' he told Harry in a rasping voice. Harry looked puzzled for a moment, but then he understood. Hermione thrust a glass flask into his hand and he collected the memories into it. Just as the flask filled up to the brim, Snape could feel the end very near.

'Look... at... me...' he pleadingly whispered to Harry.

For a brief moment, his eyes met Harry's, and he looked into the beautiful green eyes, the eyes that he had fallen in love with, the eyes which he had been in love with all his life, the eyes for which he had sacrificed his whole life- her eyes. And then he took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and let go off life.

The moment he closed his eyes, all the pain seemed to have vanished. The blood, too, was gone, and he wasn't lying on the ground anymore. Her was upright, standing on the floor of the Shack, but what he saw above him was a beautiful white space. He looked at his back, and to his horror, he saw his very own body, all covered in blood, and Harry kneeling beside it.

'Severus,' a tender voice called behind him. A voice so hauntingly familiar.

He turned around. The same pretty red hair, the same stunning green eyes, the same gorgeous smile, the same beautiful Lily he had known 16 years ago stood right in front of him. She looked unhurt, untouched by a curse, and smiling at him.

'Lily?' he said, spellbound.

'Yes, Sev,' Lily said softly. 'C'mon, now, we haven't got much to do here.'

'B-but, are we friends again?' asked Snape.

'Again?' said Lily, startled. 'We always were friends, Sev. Let's go now, its a long way ahead.'

Snape looked back at his body again, and then looked at Lily.

'Lily, I'm dead, right?' Snape asked quietly. Lily didn't reply for a while.

'Hold my hand,' she finally said, as softly as ever, and spread out her arm towards him. 'And come with me.'

Snape held her soft hand gently, a touch he had been carving for a lifetime, and they walked together towards the white space ahead of them, and to what was left of time.

Well, I know this wasn't exceptionally great but I do hope you liked it.

Thanks.
