"Mama." Santana looked up and smiled as Joey jumped in her lap. "What's for dinner?"
"I think Mommy is making spaghetti." Santana said, pressing a kiss to her son's head. Joey cheered. "How was school?"
"It was okay. Somebody was mean to me though." Santana frowned.
"What happened buddy?" she asked, watching her son get angry.
"He said you aren't really my mama." Santana took a deep breath. "You are, right?"
"Of course, baby." Santana whispered, resting her chin on his shoulder. Joey nodded happily. "Why don't you go wash up?"
"Okay." Joey said, jumping off of her lap and running toward the bathroom. Biting her lip, Santana stood up and walked into the kitchen.
"Hey gorgeous." Rachel looked up and saw the frown on her wife's face.
"What's wrong? Are you okay?" she asked, setting down the spoon in her hand and taking Santana's hands in her own.
"Some kids in Joey's class told him that I'm not really his mom." Rachel kissed her wife softly.
"You're his mom, San."
"I never formally adopted him, you never adopted Josh. We were going to do it after the wedding, but we never did." Santana said, getting more upset by the second.
"Okay, okay. Hey." Santana met Rachel's eyes. "We'll take care of it. I'll take care of it, I promise. Don't get upset, love." Rachel said, cupping the side of Santana's face and wiping her tears.
"I don't want Joey to go to your dads or Roberts parents if something happens to you. I want him to stay with me and I don't want Josh to go to my parents. I want him to stay with you. I just... I want to be your son's legal parent." Rachel smiled.
"He's not my son. He's ours. We'll make it official, I promise." Santana nodded. "You okay?"
"Yeah. I'm okay. Thank you, babe." Rachel smiled and kissed her wife. "I love you."
"I love you too." Rachel whispered.
"Joe, bedtime." Joey looked up from his Legos and pouted slightly, knowing that was Santana's weakness. "Five more-"
"No. Joseph Oliver, we talked about using that pout against Mama." Santana scoffed. "Bedtime."
"Okay." After they got the boy tucked into bed and walked out of the room, Rachel wrapped her arms around her wife's waist.
"It's not fair. That pout gets me every time. He got it from you." Rachel laughed.
"So I'm guess you'll be carrying our child?" Santana froze.
"Ch-child?" Rachel frowned. "Um... I have to go help Josh with his homework."
"Santana." Rachel bit her lip when her wife continued walking.
"I'll make the call first thing in the morning." Santana smiled softly as Rachel crawled into their bed.
"I want to make the call together." she said, moving to wrap her arms around Rachel only to frown when she was pushed away. "Babe.."
"You freaked out when I mentioned a child. I'm allowed a little space." Santana sighed.
"You caught me off guard, babe, that's all."
"We've been married for almost a year, Santana. It shouldn't really be a surprise that I've been thinking about having a baby with you." Rachel said, glaring.
"I want a baby with you, babe, I just wasn't expecting to have that conversation on the same night we discussed adopting each other's kids." Rachel shrugged. "Why wouldn't I want a baby with you?"
"Because I'm kind of crazy."
"Yes, but I still married you." Rachel hit her wife gently. "I'm only kidding."
"I know." Rachel whispered, leaning into Santana.
"Yeah, but you aren't carrying the baby. I can't risk another person in this family having that pout." Rachel laughed softly, kissing her wife softly. "
Santana poked her head out of her office and smiled as she saw Rachel hanging up the phone. "Come here. We have a couple of phone calls to make."
"Now? Santana, we're at work." Rachel said, walking into her wife's office.
"You said you were calling first thing." Santana pointed out.
"Well when you said you wanted to make the call together, I assumed we'd be doing it at home." Santana smirked. "Don't ruin this moment with a dirty joke."
"You're no fun." Rachel kissed her wife softly. "I'm so excited."
"So am I. Let's do this." Santana grinned and started dialing.
"It's official! You are legally Joey's mom and I am legally Josh's." Santana grinned and kissed her wife.
"And... We're trying. We're trying to have a baby."
"Yeah." Rachel whispered, hugging Santana. "This way isn't as fun though."
"I mean... We could try the fun way. Just in case." Rachel rolled her eyes. "We'll never know unless we try."
"We've tried many times." Santana laughed. "Our sons are-"
"Fast asleep." Santana whispered, kissing Rachel as she rolled on top of her. Rachel grinned and nodded. "That a yes?"
"Like I was going to say no." Rachel whispered.
A/N: I know nothing about either of these processes, so I'm sorry if I got anything wrong!
