Cowboy Dreams
Spike- Once a member of the Syndicate, a mafia-like underground organization, Spike is now a bounty hunter, chasing down criminals and former companions to pay the rent. His partners include the ex-cop Jet, the gambling beauty Faye, the six year old computer hacker Ed, and a Welsh Corgi, Ein. Spike reflects back on his past life, and thinks back on how someone once told him how everything is like a dream...
Spike- It's kinda funny how Life turns out. Your friends end up becoming your enemies, and the next thing you know, you're sitting down sharing a plate of burgers with the guy who was shooting at you last week. Loyalties change as quickly as fashion, and today's hot shots are tomorrow's nobodies. Everything fades away eventually, passing from spotlight to spotlight as though in a dream. Julia once said everything's just a dream- but some memories are better left alone, and some dreams are best forgotten.
Yeah, Life's full of quirks. Who would've thought I'd end up a bounty hunter? Just goes to show you, the hunted can become the hunter. Jet's been in this line before; who would've thought I'd be working with a cop- let alone one renowned for bringing in Syndicate members? An ex-cop, a amnesiac gambler, a crazy six year old brat and a noisy, smelly mutt. The guys would've cracked up to see me now; they knew how much I hate kids, animals, and women with attitudes. If there were any of the boys left, that is. So the Syndicate is hard on deserters- Life hasn't been easy for anyone, and we've all got our own skeletons in the closet. Maybe that's why we all get along. Or maybe it's all just a bad dream...
