Author's Note: For some reason I had just realized that I haven't informed anyone of just when I'm going to be posting the next chapter of this story. Now I am here with this preview chapter to inform you that Chapter 3 of Maelstrom of the Dead will be posted on the 25th of this month, as a Christmas present from me to you guys. I've put off working on my other fics to try and get this one updated, so once I update it I hope you all will enjoy it. Here is the preview, which will be replaced with the true chapter on the 25th.

"About earlier, did we do the right thing?"

"Unfortunately, Shizuka-chan…I wouldn't say it was the right thing to do."

"It was necessary, yes definitely…But the right thing? No."

Turning his attention to the group as a whole, he allowed himself to slip into his "Commander" persona. Naruto disregarded the shock that all of them (excluding Shizuka) were showing towards his sudden change in demeanor. With the situation was it was they were going to have to get used to it.

Not that he could blame them for their shock though.

For all this time, they've only known him as the happy-go-lucky guidance counselor, who acted more like one of them than an adult most of the time.

So this sudden shift in his attitude was probably startling to most of them.

"You may not like me or my decisions, but if you want to live then I suggest that you shut up and get with the program! The world as we know it is gone, and if we are going to survive then you need to realize that this is now reality!"

Takashi didn't know how to feel about this side of the friendly guidance counselor. It made him question every moment that he had spent with the man, and if everything before this day had been a lie.

Which side of was real?

Was it the man who once held his arms open to anyone who needed help?

Or was it this man who could so easily make the decision to take another human life?

Hopefully that will be able to tide your over at least until the 25th! I am actually really excited to see how you all take this chapter, as I'm almost towards the end and should be done with it by this weekend before sending it to my beta.
