"Spicer, mind telling me what this is…?"

Jack turned to face the warlord from his recent creation and he blushed straight away at the object Chase was holding.

It was a tattered teddy bear, its brown fur slightly matted and some fur had even come off, leaving the base fabric underneath showing. Its left ear was gone and was sown to stop the stuffing from coming out, the dark brown thread showing this. Its eyes were brown although one was missing, the same brown thread in a cross to prevent the same fate as its ear. Its black nose looked chewed but was still intact to the bear's snout. Its body was still plump and its limbs were still attached, still strong that the bear would not lose any. The patches on the bear's feet were either gone or loosely hanging off. The bear was obviously ready to be thrown.

"Chase…please don't…"

Chase looked at his grease covered lover, the look of utter embarrassment and fear was written upon his face. Chase raised an eyebrow at him and looked closely at the bear. It looked to be well used and by the look on Jack's face explained that the bear was of sentimental value.

"Jack you are no longer a child, why do you have this tattered old thing? It looks like it's ready to be thrown."

Jack dropped all of his tools and rushed to the warlord's side and went to snatch the bear from Chase's grip only for Jack to be out of reach; Chase having lifted the bear above his head. Chase still denied the boy access to the toy, Jack jumping to try and reach it.

"Jack I want you to answer me."

"Chase just give me the bear, please." Jack pleaded again. Chase lowered his arm slightly and Jack snatching the bear. Jack cradled the bear to his chest.

"Jack." Chase's voice heeded a warning but not of violent or of malicious intent.

"My Nana gave me this bear before she got Alzheimer's. Happy?" Jack looked away; obviously protecting the bear from Chase's eyes.

"Jack, I knew it was of obvious sentimental value, I merely wanted to know why and what, if it were legitimate I would have probably allowed you to keep it, although to me it looks like it should be thrown out. It looks close to death."

Jack's shoulders began to shake and Chase was at Jack's side. Jack let loose a sob; refusing to look up at his lover.

"Jack… Love…"

"I don't care what you say, I love this bear and I'm not getting rid of it. End of conversation!"

Chase smiled at the albino, ever so slightly.

"I don't think Gwendolyn Spicer would appreciate me taking away her grandson's bear would she? After all I'm meant to be loving him."

Jack smiled and kissed the warlord of the cheek.

"Thanks Chase."
