Chapter Eleven; A Meeting of Ancestors.

Hey guys, Merry Christmas. I know I have not updated this in a while, and a random reviewer has been asking about this on several of my other stories…but I manage to get this back on. I came up with this idea of an arc after watching the secret ending of the Sly 4 game. So to anyone who never found this or played the game before…spoilers. But is that really needed anyways? That game has been out for years and saying warning for spoilers is like the same for an old game everyone loves like Ocarina of Time. But whatever…hope you all enjoy.

This was a challenge given to me by Wolfpackersson09 and I loved the idea. He is also helping me write this chapter and maybe some other chapters as well. We are also working on several stories together. If interested check them out, they are on his profile.

(Naruto's musing)

So we got to the tower even if we had to drag the teme with us to do so. But after a day or two waiting in the tower the exams ended and we were all before the old man and our jounin sensei. It turns out that not only did our team and Sakura's team pass but also Hinata's team and Tenten's team. Gaara's team also made it as did Kabuto's team. I was surprise to see the sound team actually made it although they still looked a bit roughed up. They spent most of the time waiting glaring at me, so cute thinking they can scare me.

The old man gave a big speech for the real reason for the chunin exams and I have to say I was impress with how far our world has gone. But before the third exam could start we were told we had to do a preliminary exam. It turns out there were too many fighters for the third exam and they thought the test was too easy. Pfft, more like my gang stopped taking scrolls for our game but whatever lets them sleep at night. After Kabuto quits before the matches started we were put at random for our fights. Some were not that interesting like Shino fighting that Zaku guy and Sasuke fighting some dude that drained charka; anyways Shino crippled the punk it was all good. Even if the teme won his fight.

Shika fought the sound girl and tricked her with his shadow to knock herself out. Choji fought the last sound ninja and while a tough fight the big guy was able to take the win even if he felt bad from the fight. I fought Kiba and while I felt bad hurting Akamaru I was able to take the win. Idiot thought that a smoke screen would affect me and all he had was his nose. It was funny seeing the look on his face after hitting him inside the smoke.

Sakura fought Ino which tied and Tenten's fight surprised me. Who knew her ancestor knew mine? The most brutal fights was Neji verse Hinata and the man took way too much on his cousin. There were some deep issues with him and I plan on getting some payback for Hinata. The last brutal match was Gaara and a guy named Rock Lee. It was the best match hands down but the guy lost when his sensei jumped in to save his life and even then the guy would not give out. It takes a lot of guts to stand up crippled to fight on even when out cold. If he ever recovered, I would love to have a guy with that amount of guts and will on my team.

Now we all have a mouth to get ready for the finals and I am up against Neji himself. I am going to enjoy this way more than I should. Now all I need to do is find a good sensei. But first I think Anko is missing me too much.

In the forest outside of the village a figured laid in a grassy clearing. He groaned and open his eyes. Once he did he realized something was wrong and sat up. He looked around and saw his cane laying down next to him. He got up after picking it up a looked around. "Okay where am I?" he asked aloud, "Or is it when am I?"

He started to walk through the forest amazed at how tall the trees were around him. "Okay think Sly, you were fighting La' Paradox and the rat took your paraglider from you before you saw that time hole and…did I end up somewhere in the past?"

He kept walking till he saw a dirt road to the side. He followed it and stared in awe at the large gate and stone wall surrounding what looked like a city. He figured this was the best place as any to find some answer so Sly Cooper started off towards the village.

Sly Cooper, the original Sly anyways, was looking through the village, but noticed that everything was different. The few individuals that he noticed were not like him…period.

'Okay, what's with the lack of fur, or tails?' Sly thought as he noticed how different they were from him. He was definitely in need of a good disguise, but it was near impossible since he was an anthropomorphic raccoon. This raccoon that earned the Theivius Raccoonus looked around as he then noticed something else. Someone dressed similarly to him and this got him interested.

"This seems like something fun to check out." Sly said as he went to investigate.

(Scene Break)

Naruto, dressed as Sly, just pulled off another theft/prank on resident Special Jounin Anko. This time he stole something that she bought right under her nose, but it wasn't a pair of panties. It was a valuable snake skin that came from a rare snake that wasn't part of her natural summons or collection. And she was hot on his pursuit of the masked thief.

"COOPER, TODAY I'LL FINALLY CATCH YOU!" Anko screamed and the name really got Sly's attention. He had been time traveling recently, so running into a Cooper wasn't that unlikely as he ran up to the kid.

"Not bad kid, but I wonder what you did to get in trouble with the law." Sly came up and that got Naruto and Anko stopping in mid-step to look at the newcomer.

Anko looked at Naruto with a scowl, "so you decide to be summons into this now huh? I don't know where you got the raccoon contract but dressing him up like you was kinda stupid."

Sly raised a brow at her, "like I'm supposed to take fashion from you. Do they not even pay you enough that you can't even buy shirts?"

Naruto could not help but laugh, "Man that's what I asked her when I first meet her."

Sly smirked at Naruto, "Well great minds think alike."

Anko growled at not only the fact both of them were pissing her off about her wardrobe but the fact they reminded her of that night in which Sly (the Naruto one) made a fool out of her and took the panties right off of her. The fact they seemed so much alike made it even worst. "Cooper! You and the animal clone of yours are so dead!"

Both jumped away as she launched several snakes after them. Both Coopers jumped off the roof and ran down two different tight ropes before Sly swung off a sign and Naruto did a spire jump to a different point before they landed on a different roof. Anko was behind them screaming out death threats when she caught them. Naruto just looked at the being next to him as they ran and said, "She so wants me."

"Oh totally," Sly agreed seeing how this Cooper act with this 'cop' like how he does Carmelita. "We still need to lose her."

Naruto grinned "I got it covered, keep up old man."

"Old man?!" Sly cried as Naruto ran ahead.

Anko was catching up as they turned a corner. She jumped around as saw them jumping ahead. Anko went after them leaving the area deserted or so it seemed. When the woman left Sly jumped out of the small barrel he was hiding in and Naruto released the shadow power he was using to hide. Naruto turned to Sly and gave him a good look over, "So who are you? You got to be a Cooper with the move you made and the fact you have a cane like mine and our family seal there."

Sly looked at the blue raccoon head on his belt buckle much like Naruto's own. Before back to the kid. He was amazed at how the kid younger, or at least seemed younger than him was able to keep up with him and pull off those real copies and made one look just like him. That and he knew the Shadow Power showed he was skilled for being so young. "Look this might be hard to believe but I'm a Cooper too. The name's Sly Cooper."

Naruto gave him a look with a raised brow before Sly said, "Look it's a long story and we can't really have it here while watching our backs in case the lady comes back. So you got a safe house we can talk in?"

Naruto thought it over. He had a feeling the animal was telling the truth with too many things to make it seem like he was lying. "Alright follow me. We will meet my gang there."

Sly chuckled hearing this Cooper having a gang of his own. 'Wonder how much this gang is like my own,' "Sure kid lead the way."

Naruto frowned at the kid before he started off, "Don't fall behind old man!"

"Hey! I ain't old!" Sly cried as he took off after him but he still could not keep the grin off his face.

(Scene Break)

"And when did you get the Raccoon contract back?" Shikamaru 'Bentley' asked as he noticed the large anthropomorphic raccoon that was in their hideout.

"I didn't yet. I was going to learn HOW to do the summon contract before stealing that back from the Hokage. That's the promise between me and old man Hokage." Naruto said as he wiped off the make up that covered his whisker marks and took his hat off. Mask too.

"Huh, it's a nice place for a hideout." Sly said as he pulled up a chair with Choji munching on a bag of chips, still in his Murray Persona.

"You know Sly, I don't trust this guy. Not until he gives me some proof."

"That hurts my feelings that you're telling me this right to my face." Sly commented on Choji's comment, but Naruto just smirked.

"He was talking to me old man, and you need to give us an explanation. First off, how come you're a furry?" Naruto asked as he looked over said furry over.

"My question is how come you're not? Last time I checked I was fighting Paradox and wound up going through some sort of time portal. Next thing I know, here I am in the past. If you don't believe me, then check out my book." Sly said with confidence, and Naruto completely scrutinized the book. It was accurate except for the missing pages and entries that led up to his mother.

"How can this be the past if I have the Theivius Raccoonus, including the mentioning of Rioichi Cooper, Tennessee 'Kid' Cooper, and so on? There's also a Sly Cooper who earned the Theivius Raccoonus." Naruto mentioned, since these were ancient obscure names. Sly just looked at Naruto like he grew a second head, but checked Naruto's copy of the Theivius, and sure enough he saw his name, the name of other Coopers and the most recent entry for a Kushina Cooper Uzumaki. It was a lot more along including the use of Chakra manipulation to break open seals and safes, even a lightning element technique that would magnetize the locks on a safe for easier access, so long as the safe was made of magnetic metals.

Sly looked up at the trio as he understood, "there's only one explanation. I'm not in the past as I thought I would be but the future. There is more entries in the Theivius Raccoonus then I recall and there is even my own." He looked down wanting to see what he wrote but resisted. He didn't need to know what he discovered, what he added to his family history. "The problem now is I have no way to get back to my own time. If I don't get back to my own time, there can be damage in this one."

"What do you mean?" Choji asked confused.

Shikamaru sighed, "If he is to be believed then him being here means he does not continue his family line which means Naruto would never have been born which means we would never have been friends with him meaning we would never have become the gang."

Choji dropped his bag of chips while Naruto was quite. He knew Shikamaru was right as always but to imagine his family line destroyed without him being able to do anything. Sly looked worried, he did not want his family line to be gone. He knew he needed a way back home, if only Bentley was here. Sly then asked "I'm guessing it would be too much to ask if you know anyone that can travel through time."

They all shook their head. "The fourth Hokage has a space jutsu of some kind that allowed him to travel faster than light to certain locations. But otherwise no one has a Jutsu like that."

Naruto hummed as he had a thought, "We might not have anyone who can travel through time but we have someone smart enough to give us a lead."

They all looked at him, "And who is that Naruto?"

Naruto grinned, "The old man himself."

(Scene change)

It took a while but Naruto was able to get Sly into his apartment before he sent a message to Sarutobi who meet the gang and the original Sly Cooper. 'This better not be another one of your pranks Naruto.' Hiruzen thought as he entered the apartment and say Naruto, Choji, and Shikamaru relaxing but then noticed the anthropomorphic raccoon in blue and grey just lounging about with a cane.

"Naruto, did you manage to steal the Summoning Scroll for the Raccoons?" Sarutobi asked looking at Sly, who just waved him off.

"No, I was going to learn how to actually use the summoning jutsu before stealing back the Raccoon Summon Contract. It's like I told you earlier, that's the original Sly Cooper." Naruto said as the original Sly just stood up.

"So, this the guy that's supposed to help us out?" Sly said as he looked over the old man. He seemed strict, but pleasant enough.

"Yes, and I have known about Naruto's side job as a thief, even hired him as a thief for stealing certain documents that will not be mentioned as they're secrets of state. So, what is it that you need of me?"

The trio then explained about how Sly suddenly appeared, and that he had proven he was a Cooper with his copy of the Theivius Raccoonus, and that he was going to help Naruto hone the thieving skills for the finals. Hiruzen was a man that was open-minded, albeit a bit skeptical in some cases, but it was hard to believe that someone from the past came so far in the future. Of course he knew that Naruto was pretty skilled in wordplay that he could tell lies as if they were truths, usually in the form of half-truths, but he wasn't the type to tell lies or blow secrets, willingly unless needed. Then there was the fact that if Naruto wanted to lie, he would've come up with something more believable. "...And that's the story so far. We think that the Yondaime's signature technique might be able to send Sly back to his own time." Naruto concluded the story and theory. Hiruzen had to admit it was a fairly sound theory...if they could find a method for actual time travel.

"I do admit it has some merit, and that you could come up with something more believable then time travel. Yet, those eyes show honesty. Sadly, I myself do not know much about the technique, but there is someone that was close to the Yondaime enough to actually know something about: my former student Jiraiya."

Shikamaru nodded, "he was the one who thought the fourth Hokage so it would make sense he would be our best chance to get this to work."

Sly was even more hopeful before he asked, "So where is he?"

Sarutobi smirked, "right now he is most likely outside the hot springs. If you check there you should find him."

Naruto nodded before Sly paused, "how will we know it is him?"

This time the aged kage chuckled as he started to leave as he was no longer needed, "Trust me, you will know it is him. You should leave soon though. While your normal looks can easily move in the village your friend however can't move so easily. Right now I think Anko will be in my office with her report of what you did today and what she wants to do regarding your capture."

Naruto chuckled as Sarutobi left, "Told you she wants me."

"I believe you," Sly replied chuckling as well.

Shikamaru rolled his eyes as they gather their things to move again. 'Now there is no doubt those two are related. They are too much alike. It is so much troublesome.'

(Scene change)

It took a bit of time as Sly had to stick to the shadows and hiding places but they stood in front of the hot springs. They found only one person was outside the springs. He was crouching near the wall and giggled every now and again. Naruto eyebrow twitched slightly before he snuck behind man and started to pick the man's pockets. Once they were empty Naruto charged charka into his cane and shouted, "Hey Ladies!"

He then pushed the cane into the man's back and knocked him into the wall. The man was stunned at the attack, the shout and the fact he was taken by surprise. Naruto quickly hide as did the rest of the gang as Jiraiya stood up rubbing his head. He heard the sound of many feet moving and he turned to see many different women dressed his towels and robes carrying blunt objects and looking very angry. The toad sage chuckled nervously before they pounced on him.

The gang plus one could not help but wince as the man took the blunt of womanly fury. They would have felt sorry for him but he did bring this upon himself. Once the beat down was over Naruto jump out of his hiding spot into the air before he flipped and landed right onto the elder man's stomach, causing him to cry out in pain. He glared up at the smirking Naruto, "Damn it brat! Why do you always cause me trouble?"

"Why do you have to be a pervert?" Naruto asked before Jiraiya pushed the boy off.

"I'm not a pervert," Jiraiya said as if he was offended.

'Wait for it,' Naruto thought before Jiraiya finished with a big grin, "I'm a super pervert!"

"And now you went down a notch in my book, putting you on notch negative ten."

Jiraiya scowled, "So what do you want brat?"

Naruto looked offended now, "What? I can't say hi to my favorite godfather?"

"I'm your only godfather," the sage replied but his scowl turned into a small smile, "Still it's nice to see you again. Been training in your clan's techniques?"

Naruto nodded before he said, "Actually that is one of the reasons I went to find you."

Jiraiya shook his head, "Sorry brat but I can't help you there. Only those with cooper blood is able to use those moves with ease. I could copy a move or two but they can do them at lot better than me."

"Not that," Naruto stated waving his hand. "We have a problem and you might be the only one that can help."

Jiraiya grinned, "I got it. You need help with a lady." He closed his eyes and cupped his chin with his index finger and thumb thinking of the answer "You kids grow up so fast. Well as a master of women in general I am happy to-AHH!" he was force to stop his speech as Naruto swung his cane upwards and caught the man below the belt.

"Not like that Pervy Sage!" Naruto shouted pointing at the man who fell to his knees in pain. "And I don't need help from a virgin!"

"Virgin!" Jiraiya shouted now really insulted, "I'll have you know I am a master at seduction and is known for pleasing the ladies."

Naruto rolled his eyes. "Yeah right. Here's the important question; how many of the woman did you have to pay?"

"Are you suggesting I can only sleep with women after paying them?"

"It make sense seeing as no woman would ever admit to sleeping with a pervert like you."

"I only pay some women because they are entertaining! I can have any other woman by playing my charm."

"You peek on them and write porn with no redeeming value to it. No lady wants a man like that."

"Oh those are fighting words! No one insults my masterpieces!"

Sly could not help but sweat drop seeing the two in action, "Is this guy for real?"

Shikamaru nodded as he watches the two argue which range from 'Not respecting a piece of art!' to 'pointless smut with no plot or actually good storytelling!' "He is I'm afraid. This is so troublesome."

The argument then stopped when Jiraiya wanted to know what was it that his godson said he needed help with. "Well, since you asked for my help, what is it you need help with exactly."

Naruto nodded at Jiraiya's question and started explaining as best he could about what happened, and even had Sly come out to verify the story.

"...And that's what happened. We figure that one of the old man's jutsu might be able to do something to send him back to his proper time, or else I'm not a Cooper anymore, which would royally suck." Naruto finished as Jiraiya was definitely surprised by the anthropomorphic raccoon in blue that was in front of him.

"Well, that is something. I wouldn't have believed you brat if you didn't have proof. Then again, the Coopers are oddly honest for a clan of thieves. I can't imagine how many times I got my pockets picked by them, and Naruto you better give me back my cash." Jiraiya caught them on it, but Naruto just looked innocent at that remark.

"I have no clue what you're talking about."

"Look, before we do anything more, can you get me back home or not?" Sly asked interrupting the two as Jiraiya thought about it.

"Well, it's certainly possible. Just difficult," he stated getting the two Coopers curious.

"What do you need?" Sly asked.

"Well I will need a high amount of charka," Jiraiya stated. "I know how to send things back in time but the farther we go the more charka we need. With our friend here we will need a lot and lot of charka. I can handle some but Naruto will need to help and I might need the two elders of the toad summoning clan. But there so another problem with how far we are going."

"What's the problem?" Shikamaru asked.

"Well the farther we go the smaller the portal sends up being" Jiraiya explained "this method was supposed to be a last resort in case the village was going to be destroyed or already destroyed. In case of the worst outcome someone would go to the past and help save the village or at least make sure it can survive. However, those that tried were only able to go back about ten seconds and that was a portal the size of a man can walk through. Going back a day makes it slightly smaller but as the farther back we go the smaller the portal is so only a message might be able to slip through.

"Having more charka can help make the hole larger but with as far back as we are going even with the amount of chakra we will be barely big enough to send a kunai with a message attached. From what I can understand this is into the lost era of history with the only record of anything is your family's tome and a few other clan tomes that manage to survive."

"So we have a hell of a long shot that others would say is impossible," Sly summed up.

At Jiraiya's nodded Naruto looked at his ancestor and they both grinned. Naruto looked back at Jiraiya and gave him the thumbs up, "Let's do it."

Jiraiya laughed, "Alright. Give me a day at most to arrange a few things and I will get you guys. Try and not get yourselves in trouble before hand."

Naruto held a hand over his heart, "I am insulted you would think otherwise. How can you say that?"

Jiraiya gave him a deadpan look, "Because I know you, brat." And with that he body flickered off leaving a scowling Naruto and his chuckling teammates and ancestor.

"He has you pegged buddy." Choji said as they turned to head back to the safe house.

"No one asked you," Naruto mumbled.

Sly could not help but grin, happy to see his family member has gotten himself a trustworthy gang by his side. However, before they could take five steps Jiraiya appeared again. "Oh, and I better take this back. Best not let you kids have the temptation or evidence." Jiraiya swiped back the stuff that Naruto pickpocketed from the old sage and then quickly took off again.

"Dammit, I was so close. One of these days I'll be able to get him." Naruto stated as Sly just shook his descendant with a smile. He knew what it was like when his parents were alive and he was trying to pull a fast one against his old man.

"Well, I guess we have nothing to do until tomorrow. So what do we do?" Sly asked as Shikamaru and Choji didn't have any real ideas.

"We could get some barbecue." The large kid suggested, but that just started a bit of an argument that would be problematic for a short while.

(Scene change)

The next day the gang plus one was waiting at the meeting place where Jiraiya asked them to meet with a message he left at the safe house, much to the annoyance of Naruto for the fact his godfather found it. They had others ready to be set up in case they lose some but it was the principle of the matter for Naruto. Yesterday went by almost like normal; Choji manage to convince them to get some barbecue with Sly having to coat with a straw hat to hide his face. Luckily no one they knew were there at the time so no one asked who was with them. after eating and going separate ways Sly went with Naruto to his private training ground to see how skill his descendent was. To say he was surprised at how skilled Naruto was since he was older than Naruto when he learned several of the moves he does now. Still Sly help fine tune his skills with someone to work against him as a measuring tool. When night fell Sly and Naruto decided to have some fun Cooper style. Sly really had fun with Naruto when it came to Anko and he could not help but be reminded of how Carmelita acts with him around. He missed her and hoped she was alright. "Where is he?" Naruto muttered tapping his foot annoyingly. "He asked us to be here and he's late."

"Does he always deal with things by the hot springs?" Sly asked the gang as they waited on one of the paths in the spring near the steaming river where Naruto learned to water walk a few weeks before hand.

"Most of the time," Naruto muttered crossing his arms now. "The pervert is always doing something here be it peeking or something stupid."

"Hey I do nothing but my research," Jiraiya stated as he appeared behind them, causing the group to jump. Sly was surprise that someone was able to sneak up behind him like that.

Naruto huffed, "You say research, everyone else says peeping. Now you got everything done?"

Jiraiya nodded, "Everything is all set on my end. I will take you guys to the location where we will perform the jutsu."

"Where are we going?" Shikamaru asked with a raised brow. "I can only assume it is somewhere secret since this is not jutsu we can show out in the open."

"I got that covered," Jiraiya said with a smirk. "Just hold on to me."

The group looked at one another before they all reached out and held onto the sage's out stretched hand. One they did Jiraiya nodded wait. Sly blinked, "So how will they get us-"

Poof!

The group vanished in a large cloud of smoke and when it cleared they were gone.

(scene change)

Poof!

"-get there?" Sly finished but was surprised with the smoke and as it cleared they were somewhere else, "What the hell?"

"Thanks Gema," Jiraiya said to a large orange toad with blue designs on it.

Naruto looked around, "Where are we? How did we get here?"

"Welcome to Mt. Myoboku," Jiraiya stated, "The home of the summoning Toad clan."

"Wow," Sly said looking around. He could see several plants, many larger than himself, as well as a few toads of many different sizes but most were as big if not bigger than him. And that doesn't count the ones that were giants. "How did we get here?"

"That is the power of summoning," Jiraiya explained with a grin, "The Summoning Jutsu is a jutsu that transport a creature from a different location. In this case those that signed the toad contract is able to summon toads to their side for many different things but most summoning are fighters to help in battle. What I did was called reverse summoning. It is when one of the toads call me and bring me to their location. And since I was holding all of you means I was able to bring you along for the ride."

"Makes sense," Shika muttered, "Still so troublesome."

Choji looked around wondering if there was any kind of new food he might be able to try. However, he had a bigger question, "How will we be going back?"

Jiraiya waved him off as he walked ahead and motion for them to follow, "I left a toad in the Hokage's office. Sensei already knows what I am doing and after we are done and rested from this little problem I will have him summon us back."

"Well at least we won't be stranded," Sly said looking around. Ever since he got to this time period he hasn't seeing anyone like him, basically a full animal that can walk and talk. Here he can see many toads talking to themselves and would not seem out of place in his time if it wasn't for the sizes.

Naruto glanced at Jiraiya, "Hey Pervy Sage? Since you know the summoning jutsu, think you can show me how to do it?"

Jiraiya's eye twitch at the nickname but glanced at his godson, "that I can teach you but are you willing to be with the toad contract?"

Naruto shook his head, "Sorry, no disrespect to them but my family already has a contract I plan on signing. I just need to learn how to do it first before I will even try and steal the contract."

"Someone took it?" Sly asked. He didn't know about this contract but he was willing to help steal something from his family to help out.

Naruto shook his head, "No it is more of a test for myself. Old man Hokage has it and I plan on stealing it back later to improve my skills."

Sly nodded, "Makes sense. Something to show you are ready for the next level. I might have to try that with my kids…if I ever get back home that is."

Jiraiya looked at the raccoon man for a moment, "You're married?"

"Not yet. I have a girl, but I'm working on marriage. Carmelita and I've got a history of playing cops and robbers." Sly said, and Naruto then thought of something. He knew the name Carmelita was familiar, but it was still just out of his mental reach. The only thing that started close to it was the fact that his mother was wearing a choker necklace with the Uzumaki spiral on her neck.

'Maybe she's the one that started the tradition of Cooper women wearing those choker necklaces when engaged or married?' Naruto thought before Jiraiya pulled him out of the thoughts.

"Well, let's get started on the jutsu." Was the statement as he got ready to use the time traveling jutsu.

They stopped on a stop section of what looked like a temple. There they found several toads, two were slightly larger than a normal toad wearing cloaks and had a big of hair on their heads. The third was a massive toad wearing a coat smoking a pipe and held a sheath tanto in his belt. In the middle of them was a massive scroll with a complicated seal circle in the middle. Jiraiya turned to the group, "Guys, these is the Two Great Sage Toads Fukasaku and Shima. The big guy is Gamabunta, the chief toad or toad boss."

Fukasku chuckled, "just call us Pa and Ma. We welcome you to our home."

The group bowed to them. Sly straightens up, "I thank you all for helping me find a way home."

"Well it is a bit more complicated than that," Ma stated, "Jiraiya boy told us of what problem and we manage to find a way to make the jutsu work. But there are a few catches."

"I figured," Sly muttered expecting this.

Pa nodded, "From what we manage to tell to even get to the same range of your time period we will need to go back at least one to ten thousand years. Even then we will need something to be a focus in order to at least get a smaller gap to find the correct timeline for the portal."

"I can give you anything you need," Sly said, "Everything I own is from my time period."

"the more items the better," Ma added, "And the newer the item the better we can use to pin point a time more accurately."

Pa went on "The second is even if we do find the right time we will need a lot of charka. One reason we have Jiraiya boy helping us as well as Gamabunta. Jiraiya also says that you will be helping Naruto."

Naruto nodded, "Yeah I've been told plenty of times that I have a ton of charka so I will give as much as I can."

"even with the amount we have and using the portal will not be big," Pan continued "The portal will be only big enough for a small message to go through. In order to assure it manages to get through we will tie it to a kunai and throw it into the portal. The window to make all of this happen will be brief."

"I still don't see why we need to do this," Gamabunta rumbled for the first time.

"Because if we don't the effects will be great," Jiraiya said. "He is going to be the one that keeps a clan alive. They become great allies to the village when it first started. Not only that but that clan will be the one where my godson and his mother is born from. If he does not go back, then they and all of the rest of that clan will never be born. I won't let that happen."

"But it will only be a message," Gamabunta pointed out, "Even if this works there is still no way he can get back to his time."

Sly smirked, "don't worry big guy, a message will be all that I need. As long as the kunai that goes through is from this time period then my friends can get to me."

"Do you have a message all set?" Jiraiya asked.

Sly nodded pulling a small scroll out, "I made it the night before."

Jiraiya nodded, "No more stalling. Naruto follow me. Sly, put the items in the center of the seal and don't disturb the seal."

Naruto followed Jiraiya as the sage hand him in position and his hands on top of one part of the seal. The others took their place. Sly placed his cane in the center along with his mask, pouch and his new Binocucom that Bentley made for him. He figured they are the newest items he can use for the time he needed. Sly moved softly back to the others as Jiraiya went through a series of hand signs as he instructed the others to pump charka into the seal.

Sly watched as Jiraiya finished and slammed his hands down on the seal as the others sweat as they added massive amount of charka. Sly handed his message to Shikamaru as he tied the message to his kunai and waited for the throw. The seal glowed as did the items Sly had in the center. A spark formed over the items before they became more frequented before they lit up forcing them to close their eyes for a second. They open then to see a small portal, smaller than a portside window with a swirl of color inside. They noticed the portal was getting smaller and smaller as the group, even large Gamabunta was sweating. Naruto was struggling and adding more chakra. No one notice that his eyes flashed red a few times as he also taps into smalls unnoticed amount of his second charka source. "Guys now!" Sly cried as he saw the portal getting smaller. Shikamaru threw the kunai and it manage to go through the portal before it became too small and then finally closed.

The group stopped as the fell or sat back catching their breath to recover from their ordeal. Sly slowly walked closer towards them, "Did it work?"

Jiraiya pants slightly before he said, "only time will tell."

(Scene change)

Thousands of years into the past Bentley looked over his math and work before he scribbled over it and sighed. He had been working and going over all sorts of clue for a way to find Sly. He missed his friends and he knew he was out there somewhere. He was not the only one waiting as the rest of the gang as well as Inspector Fox also waited for answers and were waiting mostly on him. But he had no leads and he feared he may not be able to find it. Bentley stopped when a light appeared behind him. He quickly turned his chair around to see a small portal in the middle of the room. Bentley rolled closer fixing his glasses inspecting the portal. It was not big and was getting smaller. Then he was force to duck when something came flying out. He turned to see a strange knife in the wall before he saw the portal had closed. Bentley rolled over and pulled the knife out with his expected robotic arm from his chair "Now what are you?" he asked aloud before he saw there was a message. He gasped seeing a seal on the note shaped like a familiar calling card he knew.
