Hey! It's only been a couple (cough6cough) of months this time! Woo, go me. Haha. Sorry, I just started college and it's been very busy. But, regardless, I apologize for how long it's taken me and I hope you enjoy!

I was restless. The baby was due and next week and I was ready for the baby to be born. I could barely move, let alone get up off the couch or bed by myself. Oliver loved it but I had different feelings about it. I hated being helpless. Besides just feeling uncomfortable, I had been getting Braxton Hicks contractions. People call them fake contractions, but there is nothing fake about that pain. Oliver nearly had a heart attack the first time I got them. Luckily, I haven't had any in a few days, so that was nice.

"Katie?"

"I'm in the living room!" I called back. A few seconds later Angelina walked in the room with a bag of food that smelled like Chinese.

"You're a saint," I said gratefully. Oliver was trying to get me to eat healthier, which I understood, but I just really wanted some takeout.

"I know. How've you been?" she asked as she pulled the containers out of the bag and set them on the coffee table.

"Peachy," I muttered as I grabbed a container and she handed me a pair of chopsticks.

"Really," she said doubtfully with an eyebrow raised.

"Well, I'm the size of a house, all I do is eat, I can't move, and my body is preparing to shove an eight pound human out of me. So yeah, I'm great!" I said sarcastically with a cheesy grin.

"Katie, you should talk about these things," she scolded gently while grabbing her own food. "First of all, you aren't the size of a house. In fact, you're a very adorable pregnant woman. And secondly, you're pregnant. You're allowed to eat all the time." She paused to take a bite. "And you'll be able to move in a few weeks, after the baby comes. And don't worry about the labor, we have great spells that numb everything up."

"Hmm. You've just made all of my fears seem very trivial and manageable. I like you, I'm going to keep you around," I decided, pointing my chopstick at her. She laughed.

"I'm so glad I made the cut."

"You should be. Lee did not, I told him he isn't allowed back in my house until the baby is in Hogwarts," I said solemnly.

"What did he do?" Angelina asked curiously.

"He made a joke about trying to figure out who the real father is and then asked when I was going to drop the baby weight," I said, frowning. "And I got angry and made him leave. Lila was mortified."

"That is awful, but you know he was just joking, right?" she asked.

"I know. After I calmed down, I knew it wasn't a big deal. But when it happened, it really bothered me. I'm just glad Oliver wasn't there. He would have been even angrier than me!"

"Yes, he would have," Angelina agreed. "And you can blame any outbursts you have on pregnancy hormones! Oliver cannot."

"So true," I said. We finished eating and talked until Oliver got home from practice. Angie stayed a little while to talk with both of us, but left after a bit.

"How was your day, love?" he asked as he warmed up the Chinese leftovers.

"Good. Boring," I answered. "How was yours?"

"Fine. We finally nailed that new play we've been practicing a while, so that was good. Sterling was happy," he said as he came and sat next to me.

"That's good. Luke isn't as whiney when Sterling is happy," I commented with a laugh. Oliver chuckled before agreeing.

"That is very true. Now, what happened with Lee? Lila showed up at practice and was really nervous about something, she said you banned him from the house until the baby goes to school?" he asked, his eyebrow cocked.

"About that… He might have made an inappropriate joke and I got upset and banned him from the house for the foreseeable future," I said with a shrug. "But I'm over it now. I just need to tell him that."

"What did he say to make you that upset?" he asked, looking at me intently.

"Nothing, I don't even really remember it…" I said softly.

"Katie, what did he say?" Oliver asked.

"Ollie, I'm a big girl. I took care of it, it isn't a big deal," I said firmly, looking at him. "Just because I'm pregnant does not mean I can't take care of myself." Oliver took in my set expression and realized I wasn't going to budge, so he sighed before smiling at me.

"I know that, I just want to protect you anyway," he said, dropping a kiss on the top of my head as he walked to the dining room with his food. I followed slowly, carrying my glass of water when a shoot of pain went through me. I gasped and closed my eyes, trying to breathe evenly. Oliver nearly dropped his food to turn around and grab my arm.

"What is it?" he asked anxiously.

"Just Braxton Hicks again," I assured him, taking another deep breath. "I'll just walk around a little like I usually do, go eat." But of course, Oliver wouldn't leave my side. We walked around the house for a little while. Usually the pain stopped after about ten minutes of walking around, but it still hurt twenty minutes later.

"Oliver, I don't think these are Braxton Hicks," I said slowly when I realized they weren't going away like normal.

"But the baby isn't due for another week!" Oliver said worriedly.

"I don't think our baby is going to be terribly punctual," I said. "Go get the bag please, I'll owl Angelina." We had had the plan in place for a while, I would owl Angelina and she would round our family and friends up for us. She would also get Adeline to meet us at St. Mungo's.

We flooed to St. Mungo's and were quickly ushered to a room. After that, everything went dreadfully slowly. Adeline came after a while and Oliver went out to inform everyone that it would take a while. Adeline had told me before that first babies liked to take their time, sometimes taking almost a day to come. I really didn't want that to happen. I remembered screaming in pain as a bad contraction hit and suddenly Oliver was at my side, letting me squeeze his hand tightly. He didn't complain though, just brushed my hair out of my face and murmured encouragements.

"We are never having sex again," I threatened him in between contractions. He didn't seem too worried though, just let me squeeze his hand tighter through the next contraction.

"It's a girl!" Adeline cried as she held the baby up for us to see, it's loud cries already filling the room. Another person handed her a towel and they cleaned the baby up quickly before handing her to me. I cradled her close to my chest and peered down at her little face.

"Oliver, look," I said softly as I stroked a finger over her cheek. I was rewarded with a little puff of air coming from the baby's mouth and she nuzzled closer to my finger. "She's perfect."

"Of course she is, she's your daughter," he said and kissed my head softly. I didn't even berate him for being unreasonably mushy. I didn't quite agree, she was perfect because she was our daughter.

They took her away for a little bit, to weigh and measure her, and then she was safely back in my arms.

"What do you think for her name?" I asked.

"I like what we picked out, if you still do," Oliver said. I nodded firmly in response.

"Hello, Lucia Cameron Wood," I crooned to our daughter. "You have the best daddy in the whole world, and a huge family who is going to love you so much." Speaking of our family, the hospital made an exception and let all of our friends and family in at once for just a few minutes to see the baby. Both Oliver's and my mom were crying as they carefully held Lucia.

"She's beautiful," my mom said softly. Angelina and Alicia were next, both in awe of her. Alicia was already casting looks at George as she handed the baby to Lila. George sighed dramatically.

"I suppose it'll be our turn next. Thanks a lot, mate," he said, grinning at Oliver. Lila was showing the baby to Lee, who was uncharacteristically quiet as he gazed down at her.

"I'm sorry about my joke. Please don't ban me until she goes to school," he said, looking at me earnestly. I laughed.

"You are officially unbanned," I declared and he smiled at me. Melanie and Christopher were next, Luke nowhere to be found.

At my inquiring gaze, Melanie explained, "We got a sitter because we weren't sure how long it would take." That was all she said before cradling the baby close and staring at her before almost cooing. "She's so adorable."

"George won't be the only one with a new baby," Christopher sighed before wincing where Melanie stepped on his foot without jostling the baby.

"I need to learn all of your skills," I said with a smile.

"You will," she replied.

"Okay, we need to let Katie get some rest," Oliver announced. Everyone made their goodbyes and promises to come back before heading out. I slumped against my pillows, exhausted. Oliver had Lucia in his arms and carefully put her in the bassinet the room had. "Go to sleep, I'll stay right here," he promised.

"Okay," I agreed, already letting my eyes slip shut.

I walked up the sidewalk to the house, holding Lucia carefully in my arms. Oliver was walking in front of me and held the door open for me.

"Thank you," I said as I ducked inside the house. It was nice to be home, I'd stayed at the hospital for two days after Lucia was born. I had never lacked for visitors, but it was always nice to be home alone with just Oliver and now the newest addition to our family.

"This is your home, Lucy," I cooed to her, tilting my arms to show her the living room.

"She can't see it, Kates," Oliver chuckled.

"I know, it's the principle of things," I said, shrugging slightly. I took her around the house, showing her everything. We came to the nursery to finish the little tour up and I blinked. We had finished setting it up a while before she had been born, but someone had come and added a mural to the wall across from her crib. It was a moving mural, of all kinds of animals. It was really amazing.

"Lee and George came and did it while we were at the hospital," Oliver said from behind me.

"I can't believe how pretty it is," I breathed. I beamed at Oliver before walking across the room to set Lucia down in her crib. She had already drifted off to sleep, so I gently placed her in it and brushed my hand over her head. "I love you, sweetheart." Oliver waved his wand and turned on the magical baby monitor and I closed the door softly behind us.

"I love you, Kates," he said as I leaned up to kiss him.

"I love you too," I replied before hugging him tightly. I didn't need anything more than what I already had.

That is it for this story! I hope you enjoyed it, even though it took forever! Please leave a review, it would mean a lot to me!
