No need to hear your voice

Or see your face

To know that you are with me

Jazz sang softly, each broken word slipping from his vocalizer bringing back memories of his past. He would not give up these memories for anything. Jazz looked up at the bright stars, the night sky visible through the broken roof of Prowl's room. A single tear slipped from under his visor and trailed slowly down his faceplates, leaving behind a shimmering trail.

No need to kiss your lips

Or hold your hand

To know that you can feel me

I know that you can feel me

Jazz smiled sadly, still gazing at the stars that glittered above him. They were so beautiful, but none could compare to the radiance of Prowl's smile.

When I look to the stars

I know just where you are

You're looking down upon me

You're looking down upon me

When I look to the stars

I know just where you are

You're looking down upon me

You're looking down upon me

A soft breeze shook the leaves in the tree. A few tore away and twirled down to Jazz's pedes. They lay there until another breeze picked them up and whisked them away. Jazz watched them float away. They bobbed and twirled through the skylight and vanished.

No need to get locked up

Inside the past

I know that isn't changing

No need to let you go

Or say goodbye

I know that you'll be waiting

I know that you'll be waiting

The words comforted Jazz's broken spark, lifting some of the sadness and guilt from him. Another breeze blew through the leaves, but this one was warmer and comforting. Jazz gracefully leaped up into the branches of the tree, steadily climbing upward until he reached the top. Jazz looked out across the night city mournfully. He wished so badly that Prowl was here to enjoy the view with him. He wasn't.

When I look to the stars

I know just where you are

You're looking down upon me

You're looking down upon me

When I look to the stars

I know just where you are

You're looking down upon me

You're looking down upon me

Everyone else was deep in recharge. The base was silent now; just the way Prowl preferred it. Jazz leaned against the thick trunk of the tree and pulled his knees to his chest. He began to cry silently. His tears dripped from his faceplates onto the tree, shining in the light from the stars.

On the other side!

On the other side!

I've got to

Find a way

To keep my pain from burning

Down to the bone

I've got to

Find a way!

To keep my pain from burning!

Down to the bone!

Down to the bone!

The breeze blew across him again, stronger this time, as if willing Jazz to look up. The cyberninja slowly uncurled, the tears of loss still streaming down his faceplates. Something warm pressed up against his side. Jazz glanced down, surprised when he saw that nothing was there. The pressure was very real though, and it felt likeā€¦ Prowl. Jazz smiled, his visor brightening. Prowl used to press up against his side in exactly the same way. The warmth remained for a few more minutes before slowly fading away, but the soothing presence remained.

When I look to the stars

I know just where you are

You're looking down upon me

You're looking down upon me

When I look to the stars

I know just where you are

You're looking down upon me

You're looking down upon me

Jazz stared up, the back of his helm against the tree. Then he smiled warmly, beaming just like he used to.

"Love you, Prowler." Jazz began to slip into recharge, but he was awake enough to hear- and feel- the soft-spoken words that warmed his spark and chased away the agony.

"I love you too Jazz."
