I handed Megan the picture. "Look."

She grabbed it gently from my hand and glanced down at it. "I don't understand. It's the wolf you rode out of here on like the ass you are. So, what?"

"Megan, I met that wolf today. In the woods. Just now. I met him. Look on the back of the photo." I grabbed the picture and flipped it over, showing her the backside. "Look."

Megan studied the backside of the photograph closely before her eyes slid upward to meet my own, confusion painting her features. "What does this mean? Explain."

I was frustrated. How could she not understand?! "Megan, this means everything. They live here. They know what is going on around here. They are an endless wealth of information, and I know that they are trustworthy—"

"How?" Megan interrupted.

I glared at her. "Because. When I met the wolf. I talked to him, His eyes, I could tell he was answering, and he chose not to attack me. I just know, Megan, trust me." I wasn't sure exactly how I knew, but I knew; I just knew. I couldn't put this trust into words, so I left it as it was, saying nothing more on the subject.

But Megan wasn't listening anyway. Her eyes were focused behind me. "Bella, ready yourself."

Immediately, I pulled out a photograph, my eyes menacing and my mouth parted in a snarl as anger coursed through me. I did what Megan said, readying myself. Who would dare to come to my home like this?! The demon teacher? An attacker for sure, but who? I spun quickly, light as a feather, to face my foe. I will admit, I was surprised at who I saw standing there. It was the bronze haired vampire. Edward, I think his name was. I could feel the wind around me pick up as I prepared to bring my photo to life. I had no idea what creature I even held in my hand, and yet, I knew I would win in a battle against this man…or creature. I had no doubt of it actually. For some reason, he seemed very resigned. Maybe he actually didn't come here to fight at all. Honestly, he didn't seem very powerful at anyway.

I didn't let go of the photo, my fingers still tightly grasping it, but I let the wind die down some. Not all the way, but some. "What do you want?" My words came out as a whisper almost, but the threat was incredibly clear. It was a deadly whisper, words that just barely had to make a physical sound to seem dangerous. If he came any closer to me or my "sister," I would not hesitate to attack.

"What are you?"

Shock crossed my features. How could he not know? How could anyone not know? Was he joking? Everyone knew, or that's what I thought at least. The Agency of Supernatural Detectives and the spies that ran it were truly the police of the supernatural world. How could one not be aware of them? I glanced back at Megan, and she seemed equally surprised. "Don't pretend you don't know. We don't play stupid you know."

Edward stared back at me, honesty in his eyes. Strangely enough, his expression made me believe him. If he was manipulating me, I wouldn't know, because he already had my trust. There was just something about this man that made me trust him completely. I just couldn't pinpoint what it was... Maybe I was simply being too trusting lately. First the wolf, and now this vampire. "I swear I don't know."

But then, my bracelet began vibrating violently, and for a second, I thought it would break. I hissed savagely, my eyes glowing with fierce fury. This bastard was trying to read my mind! NOT HAPPENING. I gripped my photo tighter, the wind picking up violently. "I swear I will kill you if you get in our way, dammit. STOP!" My voice held complete conviction. My tongue pressed against my front teeth, and I crouched a bit lower. And then…my bracelet broke.

A growl ripped out of my throat, and I curled my fingers into claws. The wind picked up violently, and I used my arm to push Megan behind me. I heard her hit the ground, and the wind picked up even more so, my anger fueling it to almost a torrential level. Edward stood, unmoved, though shocked. The winds took shape in front of me, and another wolf appeared, this one a light brown color with glowing yellow eyes. The butterfly on its shoulder seemed out of place for a moment, but the wind quickly picked it up and took it away. The wind died down completely, and there was a strange calm. The calm before the storm would be the perfect, yet cliché, way of describing it.

No one moved. I could hear Megan breathing heavily behind me. She never did well in combat. She was honestly much too close for her own safety. These types of vampires were nothing to mess with. I knew I could win, but at what I cost? Would Megan be injured…or even worse? What would vampire venom even do to one of us? I had no idea. I wish I had asked before I left for this mission. It had been a mistake to not ask more questions while I had the chance.

The wolf shuffled slightly, unsure what to do. It let out a whine and glanced back at me. I loved my power. My capability. SO much perfection. I hated to be conceited, but I was truly the only one to have such a unique ability let alone master it. I had not had an issue controlling a single conjured creature in years. They always waited patiently, obeying my orders. Even "dying" for me. Though it is hard to die when you never truly were alive.

"Sit." With a thump the wolf's bottom hit the ground. I approached the wolf, reaching out and tangling my fingers in its fur. "Do not leave yet. I may need you."

I turned to Edward. "Do I even need to speak out loud to communicate with you?"

"No."

"Well then, you already know what I want. If you do not do what I wish, I'll have no choice but to kill you, so I suggest you leave." I would not hesitate as well. The wolf caught onto my frustration and anger and began growling. I scowled. "Hush." It immediately quieted.

"I just wish to talk," Edward claimed, holding his hands up in a defensive position.

"You lost any right to speak to me when you assaulted me," I snapped. "Now leave."

"Bella?" I glanced back. Megan was standing now. "Maybe we should talk to him…"

I hissed at her. "Not now, Megan." I spotted where my bracelet lay on the ground, completely destroyed. I approached it, stopping and picking it up. I twirled the pieces in my finger for a moment, thinking. They were sharp. I tossed them back onto the ground. No need to cut myself and bleed in front of this vampire. I doubted he would or even could control himself if that were to happen. "Not now, Megan. Not now." I clenched my fist. How the hell was I going to get a new bracelet? I obviously couldn't go to school or even into public without it. How irritating.

"Leave, Edward. Maybe I will allow you to speak to me some other time." I didn't turn around to look back at him. I would hear him leave if he did as I asked. Turned out he was smarter than I originally thought, because he did leave, and quickly at that. Within seconds he was gone.

I looked at the wolf and waved my hand. "I don't need you any longer." I dropped the photo then, and the wolf disappeared into the air. That was probably my strongest weakness. I couldn't fight with both hands. I needed to hold onto the photograph at all times for my power to work.

"You're being cold, Bella," Mean said. "You don't usually treat your creatures you conjure like that. You don't even usually treat your enemies how you just treated Edward, and he isn't even for sure an enemy…"

I just stared at her. Was I being cold? Yes actually, she was right. I was being uncharacteristically cold. Why? Had Edward really upset me that much? My eyebrows drew together as I thought it over. No, I didn't think so, and if he really did make me so upset that my character completely changed, then there was a larger issue at hand.

Megan was staring. I didn't appreciate that at all. I walked passed her casually, not even glancing back at her. Something…maybe something was wrong with me. I entered the house slowly, and I could hear Megan treading behind me. She stayed quiet, which was probably a smart decision on her part.

I climbed the stairs and immediately entered the bathroom, gently closing the door behind me. I looked into the mirror, and for the first time in years, I saw myself without my bracelet. I looked pretty much the same except for a few small, yet extremely important and noticeable differences. My eyes were no longer brown, they were blue. My entire eye though. My entire eye was blue, no white. Under each eye on my cheek were two matching blue stripes. It was something I could possibly fix with contacts and make up, but I honestly didn't feel like trying. I would simply skip school until I could get a replacement bracelet. Megan would have to go without me. However, that was somewhat dangerous, and I did recognize that. I could go with her and stay in the woods though. That way she was never truly alone. I would always be within a close enough distance to come to her rescue. And as I got into the shower, that is what I decided to do.
