A/N: This was never meant to be about Seamus and Lavender, the characters were new, but they took to the story a little better. It wasn't even meant to be a Harry Potter FanFic! Enjoy!
He felt her body tense under his gentle touch, he turned her over and saw her darting wide eyed look, a stare that filled with an immeasurable amount of sadness. He'd saved her but only just. His hands stroked down her hair in an attempt to soothe her like a skittish stray, but it served only to agitate her further and she curled into a ball.
Blowing the air out of his lips, he didn't want to knock her out but while she was in that state she had no idea who he was, she'd never truly trust him.
"Sweetheart. Listen to me." He whispered as she stared back at him.
"Are you going to hurt me?" She whimpered right on back.
"Never." He promised.
Seamus stared at Lavender as the Carrows latest torture was marked over her arms and neck. She curled back up into a ball as his arms wrapped around her shaking frame.
"Oh sweetheart." He murmured into her hair. "We can't take you back like this you'll freak out." Seamus wandered down to the Black Lake, Lavender's arm locked around him, face buried into his neck, he laid her down under a willow tree and stroked her face.
The scouting mission for injured or missing students was a grim one, but Seamus was a firm believer in never leaving anyone behind. As such all scouts were equipped with distractions and medicine when magic wouldn't always work.
Seamus dragged the blanket over Lavender using his cloak as a pillow for the traumatised girl. He curled in the roots of the tree watching over her as she slept fitfully.
Please Review, tell me if you were thinking i should continue or not! I'm a little unsure of how far this should go
