It had been nearly two days since Kanda had burst through the thicket to rescue me from Skinn Bolic. Tiedoll and Marie were certainly taking their sweet time losing the child like akuma. The first night Kanda and I had camped out he couldn't look at me without blushing. It made me wonder if that was his first kiss. He refused any sort of conversation, so I had made a point to fill the silence with nonsense stories of my own creation. He clearly wasn't amused by my ramblings and left to stake out the area for akuma. I had fallen asleep by the fire, and when I woke up it was out, but a certain exorcist's jacket was covering me.

I had blushed at the gesture. It smelled like him. This little crush of mine was getting out of hand. Kanda was an asshole, so of course I fell for him. It's the same thing I liked about Aiden. Always jeering me to enter drinking contests with him, that smug smirk he got whenever I blushed at the thought of sneaking out with him, they way he would pretend to lean in for a kiss and laugh when I closed my eyes and leaned in as well. I had pushed him off the fence for that one. Kanda wasn't charmingly mischievous though. He was just Kanda.

"I think it suites me." I declared, spinning out of reach as Kanda once again attempted to get his jacket back.

"Of course it doesn't, you're a finder." He growled, lunging again.

"The why give it to me? You can't take back a gift after you give it to someone, that's just impolite." I mocked a pout at the frustrated exorcist.

"It wasn't a gift, stupid. Tiedoll would kill me if I let you get sick from sleeping in the cold." He explained, lunging again. This time he grabbed it, but he ended up pulling the current wearer of the jacket as well.

"Come on, just let me play dress up for the day." I gave him my most charming smile, leaning closer towards him. He blushed. Without knowing it I think because he was still scowling. I could see his fists tightening and almost hear his teeth grinding. I cocked an eyebrow at him.

"Whatever." He walked away. He never gave up on our little quarrels. Especially when it meant I would win. My nose wrinkled up and I stuck my tongue out at his retreating figure. I had butterflies in my stomach. I didn't like those being associated with Kanda.

I ended up lounging on the grassy bank of a brook, chewing some clover, and watching the clouds float by lazily. I had taken my boots off and let my feet dangle in the stream. The water was numbingly cold, but I knew my feet wouldn't feel so travel worn afterwards. Occasionally a bee would buzz by to inspect the clover hanging out of my mouth. I sighed. The sky reminded me of a clear day back home. Suddenly I missed my sheep watching days, it wasn't often working for the Order allowed the luxury of cloud watching. I felt myself doze off.

When I woke up the sun had worked itself closer to the horizon. I turned to see Kanda sitting a few feet away, watching the brook. My eyebrows scrunched together in confusion, and opened my mouth to say something but he cut me off.

"You're not bad company when you shut your mouth." He explained.

"Asshole." I muttered back with a roll of my eyes.

"Like I said, its better when you're quiet. Bitch." He sent me a sharp glare.

"Same goes for you. BaKanda." I turned my eyes back to the lazy clouds. I could feel his anger emanate off of him. He really needed to work on that temper of his.

"What did you just call me?" He growled.

"Ba-Kan-Da. Did you not hear me or are you just stupid?" I poked back at him. I had missed our quarreling.

"Bitch, you're the one that taught that to the moyashi!" He exclaimed at this realization and stood up. I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah, well you're a drama queen too. Maybe we should reevaluate who deserves the bitch status." I sent him a smug grin at that one; pleased with the shade of purple his face was turning.

"That's it. Give me back my jacket." He demanded, looming over me.

"No." I deadpanned.

"I said, give me my fucking jacket, finder."

"No." Kanda didn't like that answer, because he then proceeded to pull me off the ground by the jacket. I of course fought back and gave him a good elbow in the side.

"Didn't anyone teach you not to rip clothes off a lady?" I growled as I struggled.

"Shut up! This is my jacket and you aren't a lady!" He growled back. At some point in the struggle he pulled, and the jacket came off, but his momentum carried him into the brook we were fighting by.

"Pfft." I attempted to contain my laughter as Kanda slowly propped himself up in the stream. I failed at containing my laughter.

"You fucking bitch." He growled in a voice I'm not sure I've heard before. His hair fell in his face, but his piercing glare still cut through me.

"Please, Kanda I didn't mean to." I began to half-heartedly beg while trying to control my giggle fit. He slowly picked himself up, both himself and his jacket he wanted so desperately were soaked. His hair clung to his face and body in dark streams. A psychotic grin erupted across his face and he looked at me with a mix a rage and pure crazy. "Come on Kanda, don't look at me like that." I scolded, slowly backing away. "It's your own fault you're soaked." He stepped up onto the bank, I tried giving him another half hearted smile. "Kanda, no-eep!" I squealed as he pulled me in. He sat on top of me to force my whole body underwater. The cold water forced the air out of my lungs and I came up sputtering.

He was laughing, or should I say barking as he kneeled over me. My wet curtain of red, now half curled hair covered my face as I attempted to catch my breath in the chilly stream. I shoved him off of me and back into the water, feeling that he should have to suffer in the cold water with me. He came back to the surface sputtering as I had been with his hair like a curtain over his face. Now it was my turn to laugh.

He lunged back toward me and shoved my head under the water. I didn't lose the air in my lungs as quickly this time, but my effort to shove Kanda off of me wasn't working as well. Eventually he let my head come back up to the surface. I was going to chew him out for holding me under, but he wasn't paying attention to me, he was looking towards he bank.

I slowly turned my head to see a very amused looking Tiedoll and a very confused Marie. Tiedoll cocked an eyebrow and let out a low hum. "Young love." He sighed and turned to walk away, Marie following close behind to ask what had happened.

Kanda was still crouching over me, watching his master's retreating form, clearly in shock, a small blush moving across his face. "Did he think we were-?" He was cut off though as I shoved him off of me and back into the stream. I promptly scrambled up onto the bank and chased after the General before Kanda could see I was blushing too.
