Normally I don't write sad stories, but what would have happened, if Gemma and Gem wouldn't have been saved by Dr.K?

What if erasing them would have been permanent, unchangeable?

And how would the rangers have felt, especially Flynn?

I don't own the characters or the show. I just own the idea for this story ;)

Why you?

He could feel the cool wind, but didn't care.

Clouds were moving in front of the sun, but he ignored the shadow caused by them.

He felt the soft breeze, changing into a cold wind.

On his skin he felt the coldness, coldness that represented his inner feelings.

He was sure it wouldn't take long until it started to rain.

But it didn't matter to him.

He still couldn't walk away. He couldn't walk away and leave her alone.

So he would stay here, guarding her, though nothing could cause her harm anymore. Not anymore.

….

Suddenly he felt a hand on his shoulder and looked up.

"It's time, Flynn." Scott told him with a heavy voice. He also grieved about the loss, but it seemed that Flynn had been the one

who was hurt the most. Followed by Dr. K.

"I can't…" Flynn started to whisper back, and Scott nodded knowing.

"I know, we all know. But there isn't anything that we can do anymore." He told him in a soft voice.

"Just a moment," Flynn told him and Scott nodded while walking back to the others.

Summer was standing there, hand in hand with Dillon, leaning on his shoulder and tears in her eyes.

Dr. K. was standing next to Ziggy and hadn't made him remove his comforting arm around her shoulders so far. She hadn't cried in

front of them, but Scott could see the pain glittering in her eyes.

And Scott took his place next to Tenaya, who had finally been saved by Dr. K.'s serum. At first unsure to attend the funeral, they

had convinced her, that it hadn't been her fault that they were gone.

…..

Why them, why her? Flynn asked himself and remembered the first time, as she and her brother had saved them.

They had always put the others first and jumped into fight, to save the rest of them.

And in the end it had been them to save him.

They hadn't thought a second about themselves while saving himself, Scott and Summer.

They had done what they were always doing. Jumping in, taking the shot and facing consequences.

Though earlier times, they hadn't thought about consequences – that was until they had joined their team and had learnt, that

they should always think of the consequences before taking action.

And now, during their big fight against Venjix, they had very well known what they did.

That had impressed him even more. They had saved them, knowing that it would cost them their lives in return.

"Why, Gemma?" He asked, tears running down his cheek.

"Why you and not me?" He had never been able to tell her the one thing that had slowly developed. He had never been able to

tell her, that he had fallen in love with her. "I love you, you know? It shouldn't have been you." Flynn whispered.

"She knows," a soft voice next to him whispered and he saw Summer standing next to him. Flynn couldn't say anything and just

looked at her. Maybe she was right. But he would never find out.

Slowly Summer took his hand and guided him back to the others.

Arriving at the place where his friends stood, he turned one more time and looked back, before following his friends to their cars.

…..

What he couldn't see were the two persons, standing near the grave. They were pure energy and watched him and his friends

with tears in their eyes.

"I'll always watch over you," she whispered, her eyes following Flynn and then she took her brothers hand who guided her to the

light that shone a few meters away and then they slowly disappeared.
