Chapter 19

The next day was much improved. The knowledge of their child began to buoy them both. Amanda had decided that it wasn't good to be sad, or even afraid for any longer than necessary. She had jumped head first into a lot of things lately and the pattern seemed to be doing her well.

Darcy was ecstatic. He was over the moon. He wanted to tell everyone. But his quiet sensibilities and social reserve caused him to be subdued until she gave him the ok, and then his adorable proud father enthusiasm would rein full fledged upon their friends.

They first told Piranha and Amos of course. She was all screams and he was congratulatory as well. Then, finally making an appearance in their lives once again, dear sweet Elizabeth came round to say hello and Darcy, thinking she was a suitable person, being like a sister to his bride, offered the happy news almost before Amanda could extend pleasantries. Elizabeth offered her congratulations formally and then was a bit subdued.

Amanda asked her what was troubling her for she seemed quite disturbed by something. Elizabeth sighed gently and began, "Well to be honest I'm a bit lonely. I can't seem to make a decision. I've come to realize that I have an important one to make." She turned stern, resigned to something. Amanda asked her what she had to decide.

"I might want to go home. You know, home, home. But I also may have found a reason to stay. I think I'm in love Amanda."
