When Blue said what she said about...you know what...I became intrigued about HOW powerful. And while this may not explain it well...it is an explanation
To my best friend in Boston, I love you.

When the final history of the world is written, it will be noted that the last truly good day occurred on October 11, 1983.
Maybe there could have been a hint of what was to come that day when the last hand-cranked phone went out of service. When that history is written, it may also be noted as ironic that it happened in Maine. Or even more ironic, the first cell-phones went into service two days later in Chicago.
Maybe then we could have noticed the change.
Maybe we should have known a month later when the federal government shut down that maybe we were starting to run out of supply. That point being the one where civility seemed to start dying. 10 days later, they ran a movie called "The Day After." If the supply was plentiful it wouldn't even think about a nuclear holocaust. Or maybe, just a month later, terrorists would not have the bright idea to bomb a department store and kill six people.
"Fairy dust is the most precious substance in all the land. It's magic is what powers the world."
And from that day on it seemed that the world was headed farther and farther into insanity. Maybe John Lennon knew...in March he released a single called "Borrowed Time." he is senselessly killed months later.
A soccer match turns into a riot at Heysel Stadium, killing hundreds. The Challenger explodes. Pan Am 103. Earthquakes that nearly destroy San Francisco and Los Angeles. Quakes in the midwest and northeast. Riots. AIDS. It seemed like a tail spin. But still there was a minute supply, still managing to keep things together.
It took all of 10 years for it to run out.

On the day it ran out two 18 year old girls were just passing through. Both were blond and pretty. Both taking in the sights. One was running from her life, the other running towards it. They were taking pictures in Herald Square when they ran into the local Burger King across from the large WTC building. They heard the explosion as they walked out, each holding a bag with Croissandwiches. They looked up and were aghast when the plane hit and there was a second explosion. Them both young women, who had never met before, were running together towards God knows where when one of the buildings came falling down towards them and the rest of New York. They were both shoved against a wall by a couple of firemen who shielded the women with their own bodies.
The strain was too great for one of the young girls who went into coronary arrest. The other wanted to help but the firefighters said no and besides pandemonium was rampant at that moment. She did get the the other girls name was Holly. The other blond gave her a piece of paper where she scribbled her name, Emma, and a phone number. She also knew two things...thousands of people were dead from this, two were not.

The globe's supply was gone and the globe was in a tailspin. Terrorism had become extreme. Leaders stopped leading. Disrespect was in the air. Hatred reached new levels. The world wondered how to stop it all. And they wondered what happened to get it that way.
Maybe because we ran out of it.
