Dear Diary,
So much things have happened in the last couple of days I haven't had much time to process everything. The wedding is two days and I'm freaking out, I'm trying not to think all the things that could go wrong. I'm having the girls from the New Directions over tomorrow evening and Carols friends for a Julia Roberts evening. Who'd have thought me and Carole are both secretly obsessed with her. I think Finn planned a football night with some guys at the garage for dad.
Karofsky has been getting worse and worse. No matter where I am in the school I never feel safe anymore. Even the slam of a locker door is enough to make me jump. It feels like he's always watching me now. And Finn hasn't been doing anything to stop it. The others in Glee have started noticing that I'm losing weight and Mercedes is trying to force feed me tater tots at lunch. I heard the other day that some of the guys got into a fight with him in the boys locker rooms. Sam came into rehearsals sporting a black eye. Finn won't even look at me anymore and to be honest I hate the thought of looking at him. He's supposed to be our leader and in two days he's gonna be my brother.
Blaine has been so brilliant through everything though, can honestly say I would be lost without him. We haven't actually hung out, just the two of us, since that day at the coffee in Lima Bean without it being solely focused on the wedding preparation. So much happened at the coffee house that day that I still haven't wrapped my head around it. Blaine and I never actually confirmed that us going to my Dads wedding was a date or not and after everything I heard about Blaine's ex- boyfriend I'm not sure he's even ready to have a relationship. So it was Sebastian who in the profile picture with Blaine. He looked so happy. It kills me to think anyone would do what Sebastian did but to do it to Blaine. Blaine was so innocent and kind. I mean I honestly think he would do anything for his friends. I hate to think that the spotlight would really do that to someone.
As for dad and Finn they've been spending more and more time together. I hate it. I'm his son, his only son. Sometimes I wonder if dad wishes I was straight so that he could take me to football games, talk about girls and eat junk food.
I wonder what mom would think about all this, with everything happening me and dad haven't talked properly about the wedding and I've sort of been avoiding him I'm hurt to even look at him. He had pulled me aside the day after he announced the news and asked if I was really okay with the engagement. And to be entirely honestly I am so happy for both my dad and Carol. They both deserve to be happy after everything they've been through. I know deep down that my mom would be happy for him. My dad is the best person I know, he was my everything growing up and I was his. On some level he was both my mom and dad which is why I can't understand why he would pick Finn over me.
Well on that note I have to go, Rachel and Blaine are coming over so I can tailor their wedding outfits.
-Kurt
Kurt shoved his diary back into its hiding spot and leaned back onto his bed, his suit was hung on the back of his bedroom door. It was pretty plain: black suit, white shirt and black tie and on the day there would be a red flower tucked into the lapel. Kurt had suggested having fully red lapels to match the bridesmaid dresses but Burt and Carol just insisted they wanted to keep things low key. Carols dress was coming tomorrow and he was going with her to make sure it was perfect. The Glee girls would be wearing simple and elegant red dresses which were short so they perform the choreography and the boys were wearing the same suit as him. He was curious to see what Blaine was wearing because he wasn't in the wedding party.
"Kurt?" A soft voice broke him from his thoughts. Finns head peered around the door.
"Yeah?"
"Can I talk to you for a minute?" He asked entering the room anyway. Kurt nodded and made room on the bed so that Finn could sit down.
"Look, I just wanna say sorry for the way I've been acting lately."
What with my dad or the fact you're ignoring the fact that I'm the school punching bag? Kurt thought darkly.
"I've been so focused on not letting Sam get Quarterback that I've let you get pushed around and that's not right. Look I promise that Dave Karofsky won't bother you any more Kurt. I'm sorry that I haven't said anything sooner." Finn continued. "It should be me who has the black eye not Sam. Hell in two days I'm gonna be your brother. I'm just- I'm sorry Kurt." Kurt didn't know what exactly to say in response. Should he thank Finn for finally catching on or should he be annoyed he didn't get the picture earlier, so Kurt merely nodded.
"Finn, the stuff with Karofsky- I don't want you to tell my Dad."
"What? Kurt, he needs to know what's going on." Finn said with raised eyebrows.
"No Finn, he couldn't take it not with his heart. Just, please, do this for me." Kurt said giving Finn a pointed look. Finn nodded in response.
"Kurt!" Carole's voice broke the awkward tension in the room. "Rachel and Blaine are here."
Kurt grabbed his sewing bag before him and Finn made their way down stairs.
"-I'm just saying you are sounding a little patchy, are you sure you've been rehearsing. Because I've been rehearsing Baby its Cold Outside and all the songs for the wedding and I sound just fine." Kurt could heard Rachel complaining to Blaine in the front room.
"Are you kidding me?" Blaine replied sounding truly offended. "I sounds fine and yes of course I've been practising."
"Maybe we should fit in another rehearsal slot, I can do Saturdays at dawn-"
"Oh Rachel, Blaine sounds perfect like always are you sure you're not just jealous." Kurt said entering the living room, Blaine and Rachel sat on opposite couches a bad slung across both their laps. Blaine thanked him with a small smile.
"Yeah Kurt said you are amazing at singing." Finn mumbled sitting down on the sofa and turning on the telly.
Kurt felt the heat flood to his face, Finn could be so stupid sometimes. Blaine looked over at him with a smug expression.
"So clothes?" Kurt said clapping his hands together. "Who wants to go first?"
"I will." Rachel stood up abruptly and hauled Kurt out of the room. "Kurt the zipper is completely faulty, it's ridiculous. Where did you get these dresses? I think we should ditch them and get new ones. My dads said they could get us some lovely green ones with fringe-"
"What- No, Rachel the wedding is in two days! We're not changing the dresses okay? Carol loves them and so does everybody else and that was like the only dress we could get in time to fit everybody-"Kurt insisted as Rachel pulled him up the stairs towards his bedroom.
"But-"
"No buts! Besides I bought you a brand new zip to go into your dress. It will be perfect and is you don't like feel free to tell Carol." Rachel didn't argue after that she only rambled about how Puck was still messing up his dance moves for the wedding and how she didn't feel was doing enough to make sure they were perfect. Kurt merely nodded and sowed the new zip into the dress. When he was finished he left her in his room to change and told her to come down and show him when she was ready.
"You play football?" Kurt could hear Finns surprised voice as he entered the living room.
"Yeah I do. I mean I don't play for Dalton or anything I play with the guys though." Blaine said seriously. "I love football-"
"I didn't know you played football." Kurt interrupted intrigued, Blaine honestly didn't strike him as someone who would play football. But he couldn't really say anything because there was a time with Kurt was on the football team.
"Maybe we could have a friendly game sometime. See how well a bunch of preppies play." Finn jeered and Blaine chuckled.
"Would you play with us, Kurt? You were on the football team, right?" Blaine asked and Finn broke out in hysterics.
"Finn!" Kurt snapped abruptly stopping Finns laugh before turning his attention back to Blaine. "Yeah, sounds good."
"Really? Kurt you hate football." Finn asked astonished.
"Hey, need I remind you that I was the one who won you that game." Finn lifted his hands in surrender just as Rachel entered the room.
The dress looked perfect on her now that she wasn't constantly holding to the back of the dress together with her hand.
"Well how's that feel, better?" Kurt asked.
"Yeah is it. Thank you."
"You look great." Finn said going over and taking hold on Rachel's hand. Kurt rolled his eyes.
"Okay you next." Kurt said gingerly taking Blaine's hand and trying not to blush too much. "And Finn if you want to try on your suit one more time to make I don't need to stitch up anything." Kurt gave Finn a knowing look. The other day Finn decided to practice his dance in his suit and raised his hand too quickly and ripped the underside of the arm.
Kurt dragged Blaine up to his room.
"I can't believe you didn't tell me you played football." Kurt whined as Blaine flopped down on the bed. "What other secrets don't I know about you?" Blaine flinched but Kurt was too pre-occupied with taking Blaine's suit out of the bag to notice.
"Wow, nice suit, very dapper." Kurt smirked.
"Oh? And what's wrong with dapper?" Blaine quirked an eyebrow.
"Nothing, nothing." Kurt laughed. "I've come to realise that dapper is something I really really like."
Kurt blushed after realised what he'd said and refused to meet Blaine's eyes by busying himself fiddling with his sewing machine.
"So what exactly is wrong with your suit Mr. Anderson?" Kurt said pretending to be serious.
"Well because I'm tiny the legs are too long. Could you take them up for me please?"
Kurt barked out a laugh as he held out the leg of the trousers. "Of course these won't fit you, you're pint size and these are huge! Who owns these?"
"Hey! I may be small but I'm not pint size! According to a certain somebody this small guy has an amazing voice." Blaine smirked and Kurt shook his head. "It was my brothers but I loved it so much he let me have."
"Cooper, right? What's your brother like?"
"Cooper is an annoying asshole but I love him so much, I'd be lost without him." Blaine leaned back on the bed and rested his head on his arms. "He loves himself and if you ever meet him you'll learn that there's nothing more he loves then talking about himself. He an actor and he thinks he's the best there is. He's a firm believer that you shouldn't change for anybody you should be yourself and if someone doesn't like you for you then they really don't matter. He's the first person I came out too."
"I hope I get to meet him sometime." Kurt smiled taking in Blaine's form stretched out on the bed.
"I do too."
"And you've a sister too, right?"
"Yeah Beth, she's hilarious. I've been told she looks exactly like me but I don't see it other than the hair. Although our mom is making her straighten it now. She's 16 but she acts like she's so much older. I think you'd really like her."
"I'm so jealous, you're family sounds amazing." Kurt pondered out loud.
"Don't say that Kurt. Your family is amazing. I wish my parents were as understanding as yours seem..." Blaine trailed off. Kurt could tell Blaine didn't want to talk about it and didn't push it any further.
"So! You're going to have to put these on for me so I know how much I need to take them up." Kurt said breaking the short silence that fell over them.
"Okay no problem." Blaine said getting up off the bed and wandering over to Kurt to take the trousers out of his hand. He looked over at Kurt expectantly when he didn't budge.
"Umm do you wanna stay here while I get changed?" Blaine asked.
"What? Uhh- No, I'll just wait outside- "Kurt stammered embarrassed. He stumbled over his feet as he rushed for the door. Closing it behind him, Kurt leaned against. Thoughts zooming through his head. Blaine was undressing in his room now. Blaine was semi-naked behind this door. Oh my god!
"You can come back in now!" Blaine called effectively startling Kurt. Blaine stood in the middle of the room dressed in a beautiful navy three piece suit with a dark tie. The bottoms of the trousers puddled around his feet but other than that he looked amazing, more mature somehow.
"Whoa, your brother has great taste." Kurt said as Blaine took himself in the mirror.
"And longer legs."
"Don't worry that can be fixed." Kurt bent down and carefully pinned up the trousers. When he was finished he stepped outside again so Blaine could change bottoms.
"You know the wedding will be perfect Kurt." Blaine said as Kurt starting sewing up the bottoms. It was if he could almost sense the stress that was coming off Kurt.
"With my luck, the dresses will rip or the food will be burned or worse." Kurt mumbled focusing on the needle.
"Kurt it will be fine. You planned it and from what I've seen Carol and your dad will love it, who couldn't. "
"Thank you, as much as it stings me that I'm not the best man I want my dad to be happy. He deserves that."
"Have you talked to him about it?" Blaine getting up off the bed and wondering over to a bookshelf which had dozen of frames on it.
"No I haven't had the chance and even if I did what am I supposed to say? The weddings in two days!"
"You could tell him that you wanna be-" Blaine started.
"No, Blaine because he clearly prefers Finn now. He's finally got the son he's always wanted." Kurt eyes slowly filled with tears.
"Kurt, you can't honestly mean that. You're dad idolizes you, if you could only see the way he looks at you-" Blaine walked over and leaned against the wall beside Kurt.
"Well I can't Blaine because I'm too busy looking at the way he looks at Finn." Kurt snapped. Blaine stayed quiet unsure of what to say next.
"I'm sorry. I just- I'm frustrated and tired and I shouldn't take it out on you." Kurt whispered.
"Kurt, it's okay. I want to listen and help you. After you listened to me with Sebastian it's the least I can do." Blaine said placing a comforting hand on Kurt's shoulder. "But I still think you should talk to him."
"Okay, I will. When I can." Kurt said genuinely. "But for now can you please put these back on so I can make sure they fit. I'll be downstairs."
Blaine was right, he really should talk to his dad about how he was feeling. Except he didn't know how, what would he say and how would he say it.
"Whoa, would you look at the two of you." Kurt could hear Carole before he was even down the stairs. "Rachel that colour really suits you."
Kurt the room to find that his Dad and Carol had joined Rachel and Finn, who was now wearing his suit.
"You scrub up well." Burt said slinging an arm over Finns shoulders.
"You both look amazing. Finn, I've never seen you look so smart." Carole gushed reaching over to fix Finns tie.
"Yeah thanks to Kurt or else this thing would be in shreds by now." Finn said shooting Kurt a small smile.
"Kurt was always good with a needle and thread-" Burt said fondly. It stung Kurt to see his dad standing there proud as punch with another boy. He couldn't help but feel jealous as though it should be him standing in Finns place.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Kurt snapped crossing his arms.
"What? Nothing I was just saying you've always been brilliant with clothes-" Burt started.
"Oh right do you think that's all I'm good at?" Kurt interrupted.
"Kurt I never said that." Burt said confusion spreading across his face.
"You didn't need too." Blaine entered the room and stopped short when he sensed the atmosphere.
"Kurt, what's gotten into you?" Burt asked moving towards Kurt. Everyone in the stood frozen unsure of what to do. Carole met Blaine's and in a silent agreement they ushered Rachel and Finn out of the room.
"You've been acting strange all month and don't think I haven't noticed." Burt continued but Kurt remained silent.
"Do you not want me to get married, is that it?" Burt asked sadly coming up to put a hand on Kurt's crossed arms.
"No of course I want you to get married." Kurt whispered moving away from his father to sit on the opposite couch.
"Then what is it?"
"Why'd you pick him, Dad?" Kurt asked looking up with watery eyes. "Why does he get to be your best man when I'm your son?"
Burt sighed heavily. "Kurt-"
"I'm I too girly? Am I not manly enough?"
"What?! No of course not. Kurt, you are perfect exactly the way you are and I wouldn't have you any different." Burt said frowning at Kurt from across the room.
"They, why? Do you like him more than me because you can watch games with him and actually talk to him?" He could feel tears on his cheeks now.
"Kurt I picked Finn because I didn't think you'd wanna be the best man I didn't think you'd be interested in planning a football night for me and the guys from the garage when you could be planning an evening for you, Carole and the girls to watch Julia Roberts movies. I thought you would be in your element helping and planning the wedding with Carole rather than have to put up with your old man who doesn't know the difference between daisies and sunflowers. Who doesn't understand why red and purple can't go together. Who thinks all napkins look the exact same. I thought you would prefer spending time with Carol who actually knows a little about this stuff than have to explain it all to me. God, can you imagine Finn trying to put together a wedding and sort bridesmaid dresses?" Kurt smiled faintly. "I figured me and him could stay out of way."
"Kurt I love you much, more than anything in this world. You're my best friend and my son. Carole and Finn might be coming into our lives and things might be changing now. But nothing will ever change how I feel about you Kurt, you're my little boy. We're a team you and me." Burt slowly made his way over and sat beside Kurt.
"I never meant to hurt you Kurt. I thought I was doing something you'd be happy with." Burt wrapped an arm around Kurt shoulders and pulled him in for a hug.
"And Kurt just because we don't watch games together doesn't mean we don't talk. I love cooking with you Kurt and talking to you about your day. Hell after your mom passed you were the only person I ever talked too. Sure it's nice hanging with Finn and watching the game together but that doesn't mean that I like what we do any less." Kurt rubbed his cheeks with the back of his hand and a silence fell over the two as Kurt processed everything his father had said to him.
It was stupid to think that his own father would pick Finn over Kurt because he didn't he was only doing what he thought Kurt would like best.
"Really?" Kurt murmured looking up at his Dad.
"Of course. Kurt you already are my best man. I'm sorry if you were upset I really thought you'd prefer it this way. I can go and talk to Finn, I'm sure he understand-" Burt pulling Kurt in closer.
"No" Kurt said abruptly. "Don't."
"What? But I thought that you wanted-"
"I was being stupid and jealous. I thought you were picking Finn over me and I felt like you were happier because you got the son you always wanted. But you weren't picking him over me. You were doing what you thought I would be happy with. To be entirely honest I would a have hated having to hang with you and the guys for the garage and watch football for the night and watch Finn try to make decisions on things he really had no clue about." Kurt smiled faintly at his Dad.
"Kurt you are the son I've always wanted. I wouldn't change you for the world." Burt said seriously. "Even if you did almost burn down the house when you were six." Kurt chuckled.
"Are you okay now, with everything?" Burt asked.
"Yeah I am. " Kurt nodded. "Thanks Dad." Burt pressed a small kiss into Kurt's hair before getting up and walking over to the door.
"I love ya kiddo."
"I love you too, Dad." Burt disappeared leaving Kurt alone in the sitting room. It wasn't long before the door opened again and Blaine appeared. Dressed in his normal clothes again suit safely back in a bag draped over his arm.
"You okay?" Blaine asked apprehensively. Kurt smiled and nodded.
"Yeah, I am." Kurt responded genuinely. Kurt spent the next few minutes telling Blaine about the conversation with his father while Blaine sat in silence.
"So you're okay with being 'man of honour'?" Blaine asked finally after Kurt had finished.
"You know what? I actually am."
Kurt felt like he almost couldn't breathe, the wedding day was finally here. He'd arrived at the church extra early to make sure everything was perfect. It was a small little church not far from where they lived. It was beautiful, with small lights hanging from the ceiling and plants dotted in various places around the walls, he had decorated it with flowers red-orange flowers that he and Carole picked. It was simple just how Burt and Carole wanted. Kurt carefully went around the church making everything was in its proper place.
"It looks great y'know." Blaine whispered from behind Kurt, successfully making him jump. Kurt had asked Blaine to come early and give him an opinion of the layout.
"Thank you."
"You look really nice by the way." Blaine smiled. "Although something tells me this is not very Kurt."
Kurt laughed. "You know me so well. I suggested something a little more extravagant but got voted down. Although in saying that I guess this is better then what Rachel wanted."
"Oh God, what?" Blaine asked his eyes flashing in horror.
"All I'm to say is emerald green and fringe."
"Yeah this is way better." Blaine chuckled.
"You look good too, by the way." Kurt said a little too quickly. "That's a nice colour on you." It was Blaine's turn to blush.
"Kurt?" A voice called from somewhere behind Blaine, Kurt looked up to see Rachel marching towards them, dressed in her bridesmaid outfit.
"There you are! Mr. Schue wants to talk to us before the wedding starts." Rachel informed him.
"Rachel its fine, we've got loads of time." Kurt rolled his eyes.
"Kurt the weddings in a half an hour." Rachel said giving Kurt a look.
"What?!" Kurt checked his watch which only confirmed what Rachel had said, he'd completely lost track of time.
"Sorry I have to go, I've see you after the wedding okay?" Kurt said giving Blaine an apologetic look. It was only then that he noticed people were starting to arrive at the church. Kurt followed Rachel into a small side room where and the others were waiting. Kurt made his way over to Finn while starting giving another one of his famous pep talks.
"Okay we've been practising this number for almost a month now. It's time to go out there and show everyone what we can do. Today isn't just about performing though, we are here to help made a very important day special. Over the last month we've all gotten to know Burt and Carole really well. Let's go out there and make them proud. Alright show circle." Mr. Schue announced sticking his hand out. Kurt glanced around the room taking in all the faces. If someone told him this time last year that the likes of Puck, Santana and even Finn would be here singing at his father's wedding he would have laughed in their face. I guess it goes to show you that people can really change.
It wasn't go long before the New Directions were queued outside the church doors. He was secretly freaking out, terrified that everything would go wrong. What if Finn ripped his suit jacket again? Or Burt or Carole missed their ques. Thoughts streamed through his head as the church doors open and Finn started singing.
The glee club were doing they own version of the JK Wedding Entrance but to song Marry You by Bruno Mars. Kurt wasn't sold on the idea at first but when Burt found out he was so excited that Kurt couldn't say no.
It wasn't too long before Rachel walked out and Kurt could hear everyone clapping along with the music. Mercedes wrapped her hand around his as Sam and Quinn danced down the aisle.
"Ready?" Mercedes whispered.
"Definitely." Kurt said as he pulled Mercedes out and down the aisle. He caught eyes as danced up the aisle, he looked so proud. Kurt almost stopped singing when he saw Blaine, he was sitting in the middle of the church looking as dapper as ever. He was wearing the biggest smile ever and when he met Kurt's eyes it only seemed to get bigger. Kurt was so busy trying to remember the moves and sing he didn't notice Finn take his place with the girls on Carole's side of the alter, leaving Kurt to stand with the guys on other. Kurt met Finn gaze they both smiled at each other for a split second before turning to watch Burt awkwardly dance up the aisle.
Kurt couldn't remember the last time he seen his dad so happy. He was too busy trying not to cringe at the dated dance moves he almost missed Carole entrance. She looked beautiful in her dress, which thanks to Kurt, fit her like a glove. She met Burt half way up the aisle and they danced up the remainder together.
The ceremony has short and sweet and Kurt couldn't help but cry at not only what he father said but of course what Carole said. After today they could be a family together. He'd have a new mom and brother and after what Finn had said to him a few days ago he need not be worried about Karofsky any more. Kurt glanced down at Blaine who was beaming back him. Kurt couldn't remember a time when he felt so happy.
As soon as the ceremony was over Blaine appeared at Kurt's side. Burt and Carole had only just left the church and most people were only starting to move around.
"Kurt, that was amazing. You guys were awesome." Blaine gushed. Kurt quickly tried to wipe under his eyes but Blaine caught his hand. "Oh Kurt, your Dad just got married you're allowed to cry."
Kurt shot Blaine a watery smile.
"Hey Blainey-poo, you better not go telling those Warblers any of our techniques." Santana said when she spotted Blaine who in turn pulled a face at the nickname.
"I wouldn't dream of it." He said holding his hands up in a surrender.
"Blaine! Well, what did you think?" Rachel asked having heard Santana.
"You guys were all amazing. Except well-"
"What?" Rachel cut across him.
"Rachel you did sound a little patchy…" Blaine smiled coyly referring back to the other night. Rachel simply glared at him and crossed her hands childishly. "No, Rachel you sounded great. I promise."
"I should think so." She said before turning sharply on her heel and disappearing down the aisle. Kurt didn't wait until she was gone before he burst out laughing.
"Oh my god, Blaine Anderson." Kurt said dramatically. "Diss-ing Rachel Berry, you sir, are very brave."
"I try, I try." Blaine chuckled.
"You ready to head to the reception?" Kurt asked and Blaine nodded.
"Good because you're driving us."
Kurt was lucky that he managed to book a function room at such short notice. It was a bit of a drive getting there but he mind. He and Blaine sang the whole way there. Kurt didn't think he could ever get tired of Blaine voice, it was still giving him goose-bumps like that day in Dalton.
He was annoyed that he couldn't sit next to Blaine for the meal and instead surrendered him over to Mercedes to be looked after as he was sitting with the New Direction. Kurt stole cheeky glances over his shoulder throughout the meal. Being jealous when he'd catch Blaine laughing at something. A couple of times he catch Blaine looking over his direction and he would hope Blaine was too far away to see him blush.
After the meal Finn stood up awkwardly and raised his glass for a speech.
"Okay, umm- I'm really bad at these sort of things but Kurt said I had to give a speech." Everybody chuckled in response to Finn honesty. "When Burt and Carole starting going out I was little freaked out, not gonna lie. It felt like it was just the two of us forever and now there was this new guy and it was different. I didn't wanna think that my mom needed anybody else but me. But then I met Burt, who is possible one of the coolest guys I've ever met. We really hit it off and I can honestly say that I'm glad I get to call him dad now. Burt you make my mom so happy and I haven't seen her look this happy in a long, long time. So thank you. Not only am gaining a new dad but I'm also getting a brother." Finn looked directly at Kurt when he spoke next.
"You and me, man. We're brothers from another mother. No one has thought me more about being a man then you Kurt. I'm always gonna have your back bro and that's a promise. And so, on behalf of Burt and Carole I wanna thank you for putting this altogether. The glee club have put together a little something to thank you and to show just how much we appreciate you." Finn said walking around to the dance floor as the other glee guys followed including Blaine.
Kurt was shocked, speechless. He met Blaine's eyes from where he stood behind Finn. He simply smiled before Finn started singing Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars. Finn seemed so sincere as he sang. Kurt was touched that everyone in glee though that much of him.
Soon the girls got up and danced. Kurt was trying to figure out when they would have had time to practice this without his knowledge and was only pulled from his thoughts when Finn took his hand and brought him up on to the dance floor. Kurt stood in the middle of the group with Finn and willed himself not to get emotional.
It wasn't long before Burt and Carole got up and joined in, Burt pulling Kurt in for a hearty hug. Kurt danced with his dad until the very end of the song when he was enveloped in a group hug.
"How did you guys do this?" Kurt asked astonished.
"It was Finns idea." Tina said rubbing Kurt's arms. "Kurt we love you and we're here for you." Kurt smiled and hoped that his dad wouldn't ask what she meant later.
"Thank you, Finn." Kurt said looking up at Finn who immediately pulled him in for another hug. He pulled away when the next song started to play and Kurt felt a tap on his shoulder.
"Can I have this dance?" Blaine asked pretending to do a bow. Kurt smacked his shoulder but took his hand none the less. The two boys started to sway to I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston. Kurt had to stop himself from squealing at the fact he was dancing to a slow song with another boy, who was also gay.
"You knew about this the whole time?" Kurt asked finally after he got over the shock of Blaine asking him to dance.
Blaine laughed. "Yeah Rachel asked me if I wanted to be in it and I couldn't say no. Although the Warblers don't know so please don't tell them I was singing and dancing with the enemy."
Kurt smiled. "I wouldn't dream of it. You were amazing, thank you."
"What? Kurt you don't have to thank me." Blaine said tilting his head slightly to meet Kurt's eyes. "You deserve this Kurt, I'm just glad you finally see that everyone thinks you're special... and not just me."
Kurt almost stopped dancing when Blaine said that. "You think I'm special?"
"I know you are."
