Chapter 7- Jealousy

This is just a quick little chapter because I don't have too much time so it will be quite short but longer ones are coming I assure you. I own nothing and am making no money. Sorry for mistakes. Enjoy!

Ginny was sitting in the Library once again, trying to concentrate on her homework. The busy buzz of the common room had been to much for her so she had come down here to get some peace and quiet. She had just reached into her pocket to grab a toffee to chew as she worked when she felt an odd, warm sensation in her hand. She pulled her hand out of her pocket to find that she was indeed grasping one of the coin from the DA and that it was telling her exactly when their next meeting would be. Right now. Without a second thought, Ginny jumped up from where she was sitting, making quite a commotion and causing a lot of heads to turn her way. Including Madam Prince who was giving her a death stare. She scrabbled to collect her belonging and hurried out of the room and began to sprint down the long, cold, dark corridors. She got to the Room of Requirement just as a painful stitch started to grow in her side. She walked up and down three paces, trying to catch her breathe. The door appeared out of the wall as always and she hurried to get inside. She could hear chatter and excitement until she shut the door. It had all gone silent. Everyone was looking at her. That's when Ginny realised that she must be very late as everyone was here and already working on their Patronuses. She muttered a sorry which Harry accepted with a smirk, know that Ginny was never usually late. In fact, as he remembered it, she had always been the first there, other than himself, Ron and Hermione. She stuttered out an apology as everyone went back to practice. Ginny walked over to Colin who, like the majority of the people in the room, was having trouble trying to get even a small spark of light to emit from his wand.

"Oh for Merlins sake! I'll never be able to do this!" Colin exclaimed on what looked like the hundreth attempt.

"Don't say that, you probably just need practice," Ginny soothed, " What are we supposed to be doing anyway?"

"The Patronus Charm," Colin replied. Ginny's stomach gave a leap. This was her chance to impress Harry. No body knew that Harry was not the only one who Professor Lupin had taught the Patronus Charm. After he had seen her reaction on the train, he had began to teach her too. She knew she could do it although it wasn't a full bodied one. She waited for Harry to walk over before whispering, "Expecto Patronum."

Just thought of the most happiest memory she could and then, almost imedetely, a silver light in the form of a startling horse erupted from her wand which lay in her shaking hand. She hadn't expected that. She had never produced more than speck of light before and suddenly a whole form was comming from her wand. Everyone stopped to watch the horse gallop around the room. Ginny looked over to Harry who was beaming brighter than she had ever seen.

"Fantastic Ginny!" He exclaimed as he caught her eye. She lost her concentration and the Patronus faded. She hit the floor in a state of exaustion, Colin caught her before she hit the ground, everyone gasping.

"Perfectly normal," Harry reassured them, sounding more confident than he looked. Hi eyes were full of worry like they had been when she was lying in the hospital. But he soon turned back to helping others as Luna walked over to Ginny with a goblet of Pepper-Up potion they had stolen from Madam Pomfrey.

Ginny was soon as right as rain and stood up, ready to help others now that she was sure that she was able to do it. Thats when a certain thought occured to her; Harry was proud of her. He had just seen her master a full body Patronus on what he thought was her first attempt and that was pride she had seen in his eyes when he had called to her before she lost concentration. Little did he know that it was because of him that she was able to preform the Patronus even better than she ever had before. She had chosen a memory of them. Together. The one from the other day when she had held him by the lake. She had concentrated on how close they were. How much he must have trusted her to be able to let her consol him. Yes, it wasn't exactly a happy moment given the circumstances but Harry being close to her had made her feel such joy and that was her motivation behind the Patronus.

She was snapped out of her comforting thoughts by a loud groan from Colin just as Harry happened to walk over.

"You're just not concentrating hard enough Colin," Harry said encouragingly, "Or you just need to choose a different thought to concentrate on."

"Think of the happiest memory you can," Ginny said softly as Colin got ready to try again," And focus on that and nothing else. Remember every aspect of that memory. Facal expressions. The feel of the surroundings. The smells in the air. Close your eyes to picture it better and when you think you've got it, say 'Expecto Patronum' and force all you energy behind it."

Colin shut his eyes, Ginny and Harry either side of him, whispered the spell lightly, barely audable. He opened his eyes to see a flash of silver light errupting from his wand along with a few of the other people around him who had obviously been listening to Ginnys instrustions. He had done it. It wasn't a full body Patronus but Harry and Ginny were beaming none the less. It didn't take long for others to catch on and soon enough, half the hall was full of silver light.

Ginny look to her right to find that Harry was no longer standing with them. He was over the other side of hall helping Cho who, much to Ginnys satisfaction, was having trouble getting more than even a tiny spark to form. She looked as though she was about to cry, clearly disappointed that she could not impress Harry. Ginny began to circulate the hall, getting close enough to Harry and Cho to hear their whispered conversation.

"You just need to concentrate more," Harry soothed.

"I am!" Cho snapped quietly back at him, holding her wand out limply infront of her. Harry took her hand and placed her wand in it firmly, then proceeding to hold her elbow to lift her arm a little higher.

"Pick a different memory and try now." Harry whispered in her ear and sure enough she was able to get the bright string of silver to fly out of her wand like the rest of the group. Harry beamed at her but she wasn't looking, she was too entraced by her new creation. When Harry had walked away, Cho lowered her wand and turned to Ginny, who was attempting to help Nigel, and gave her a dirty scowl followed by a smirk that would rival that of Draco Malfoy. That was when Harry called the group to gather round as they were at the end of the lesson.

"I just wanted to say that I'm extremely proud of you all for what you've achieved today, I really am. You've all done brilliantly. But I am afraid this will be our last lesson for a little while," Harry sighed, earning many complaints from the crowd, shouts from Fred and George and scowls from a small group of Hufflepuffs, " I'm sorry but with Umbridge snooping around it's best to lay off for a little while. I promise you we will continue but just not while we are being watched 24/7 by Umbridge. But in the meanwhile just practice the best you can and I hope to see some fuller Patronuses when we meet next. So, um, until then... bye." Harry said rather awkwardly as everyone began to pick up their bags and file out. Just before Cho got to the door she turned around and said loudly, "You comming Harry?"

"I'll be with you in a sec," Harry yelled back before turning to an unexpectant Ginny, " Can I talk to you for a sec, when everyone else has left?"

"Yeah sure," Ginny replied. She had a feeling she knew what he was going to ask her about. She looked over Harrys shoulder to see Cho turning to the exit, looking rather sour. As the last few students left and the door banged shut, Harry turned once again to Ginny.

"That was honestly amazing Ginny! I didn't even know you knew the charm let alone be able to preform a full bodied Patronus! WHo taught you?" Harry rushed in awe.

"Proffessor Lupin," Ginny sighed as she stuffed her wand into her bag and zipped it up to avoid seeing Harrys reaction, 2 He taught me in my second year as soon as we started term. I had him first lesson. He said he had noticed the way I acted on the train and figured I could use some help so he gave me some extra lessons. We talked about...stuff. The reason why the dementors affect me so. We talked about...Tom.." Ginny looked at her feet, tears trapped in her chocolate eyes, threatening to spill over the edge. Harry said silent, know that she had more to say, "I had never been able to produce a full bodied one before though," Ginny said after a rather long pause,"I came close once but most of the time it was just a flash of light but Professor Lupin aid that was outstanding considering my age. I just...I don't know, something just rose inside me and I could do it. You know what I mean?"

She looked up into his eyes. Thoses startling emmerald eyes that made her go weak at the knees whenever she caught sight of them. He nodded slowly, clearly understanding. He placed a finger under her chin to bring her to look deeper into his eyes. He took a cautious step towards her. Ginny didn't know what to do or how to react, not wanting to take his actions for false signals. Harry cocked his head. Just as he was about to lean in, still looking into her eyes, the door burst open with a bang causing them to jump apart, blushes creeping up their cheeks.

"Harry are you comming or not?" It was Cho. Harry spun round, trying to make his face look nutural and walked toward her.

"Just leaving hun," Harry replied. Cho looked past Harry to see Ginny standing stock still where Harry had left her, her cheeks still as bright as her hair. Cho's scowl changed into a small smile as Harry walked up next to her. As soon as he was within touching distance, just grabbed the pront of his Gryffindore jumper and pulled him close to her, locking their lips in a deep, passionate kiss. Just as Harry began to return the kiss, caught off guard by her sudden action, she pulled away and lead him out of the hole. She looked over her shoulder at Ginny who was now left alone in the room, therefore forced to find her own way back to the common room, and smirked. Once again, she was winning.
