Confused

It has ended.

After years of tracking and destroying the Black Organization one by one, it finally came to an end. Cheers were heard everywhere, echoing through the rubbles of the once main hideout of the organization. Despite the various noises from the members of the FBI, Interpol, and the whole Japan Police Force, he concentrated himself in finding a lone figure. Walking a few meters away from the group, he found her asleep, leaning on a piece of concrete wall. After a mental debate, he dashed towards her peaceful and angelic figure. Never has he seen her in this situation, all grown up and face filled with peace and serenity.

Gazing at her, he noticed a lot of small, yet important details about her own being: her perfect, yet dusted as-of-the-moment skin; her small, yet still bleeding lips, which gave a rosy red color; her long arms and legs which contained scratches and dirt; and her strawberry blonde hair, which still has bits of dry, cracking blood and soot.

Noticing his curiosity and actions dusted his cheeks with a red hue. Shaking his head violently, he finally decided to move, scooting beside her fragile sleeping figure, obviously tired from the previous battle held. Stealthily, he leaned her head on his broad shoulders. Suddenly feeling something foreign inside him, he absentmindedly caressed her cheeks, nose, and lips, wiping away some of the fresh blood dripping from her wound.

All of a sudden, Shiho shifted to his side, wrapping her arms around his arm. He suddenly froze in contact. "Shinichi…" Her words made him more frozen, if possible. "Don't leave me…" His eyes gained something in them: shock, pity, and love. He never really thought that he will love her, a sarcastic, egoistic, yet heavenly angel. Well, those thoughts of him about her finally lead him away from his confusion. Weeks of asking himself who, what, and why did he feel those things. He finally answered his question: He loved her ever since. Those feelings were masked by his "puppy love" for Ran. Ran was only his best friend. And his instinct to protect everyone from harm only leads him to think that his love for Ran is indeed, the love he wanted to experience forever. But that instinct as well leads him to vow to her that he will protect her with his life.

Enlightened with his new found knowledge, he gazed at her figure encircling his arm. After slipping his arm away from her grip, he reached for her shoulders and pulled her body towards his muscled chest. Wanting to set things right, he then made a vow to her that will last their whole lifetime.

"I'll never leave you."
