Hi guys! Im still alive. You remember me right? No? Well, I guess it is my fault for not updating for 4 months. It's actually summer now in my country and I figured the least I could do is update my fanfictions. Lots of thanks to all my readers. I'm having some sort of writer's block so, sorry! I've also adapted the 3rd person point of view style and I apologize for all those who liked whatever crazy thoughts runs around in my fic's Percy.
3rd Person Point of View
Kissing Annabeth Chase was not part of Percy's to-do list when he came back on Earth. But that doesn''t mean he does not have to like it.
Annabeth's hands were on his head and was constantly messing his hair up while Percy's hands gripped her waist and pulled Annabeth closer to him. Percy sighed into the kiss. He never thought he would feel Annabeth's soft, warm lips anymore. He thought it would be for the best, but no, his emotions just needed to get involved too. As if he doesn't have enough on his plate. Stopping Gaea was his first priority, but making amends with Camp Half-Blood was slowly creeping its way up to the number one spot.
Percy pushed Annabeth gently and broke the kiss. What was I thinking. He thought to himself. Annabeth gave him a pout that he thought looked really hot. Snap out of it, Percy! He mentally slapped himself for being carried away.
"Is something wrong, Percy?" Annabeth asked with worry etched in her face. They hadn't seen each other for a long time and Annabeth was worried she blew their first kiss after a thousand years.
"No, it's nothing, really." Percy stood up. "I should probably get going."
"But you just got here," Annabeth said and also stood up. She touched her lips like she couldn't believe she kissed him again.
"Maybe you haven't noticed but Gaea and her forces are getting stronger every minute." Percy dusted his clothes off and prepared to leave. "Maybe we can talk again when I come back." He touched his back pockets to make sure Riptide was back there. He smiled to himself. Clarisse might have thought she had it, but the magical pen always returned to his pocket.
Annabeth's eyebrows knit together, which meant she was thinking. "Wait, you're leaving?"
"Impressive. You should totally join The Price is Right."
"I'm not kidding, Percy." Annabeth frowned and crossed her arms. "Where are you going? Do the other Chaos Warriors know?"
"Yeah, about that," Percy rubbed the back of his neck and turned around as to avoid facing Annabeth. "The other Chaos Warriors and I, we sort of had a disagreement."
"What?! But I thought you were their leader?" Annabeth facepalmed. "So that's why you're going to head out by yourself?"
Percy felt annoyed. "You ask too many questions. I'm just going to my cabin and grab some drinks and head off. By the way, I know you're going to stop me but I'm saying it right now that there is nothing you could do to prevent me from leaving." Percy gave the blonde a glare as to further emphasize his point.
"What about Stephen and . . . the other person."
Percy raised an eyebrow at her. What did she mean? "You mean Drake?
"No, not that one. The other creature." Annabeth cold stare was creeping Percy out.
"Oh! You're talking about Wilson," Percy chuckled. "He looks like a penguin but he's actually from another planet. Chaos said he solved his planet from Global Warming so he turned him into a Chaos Warrior. Pretty weird, right?"
"Dammit, Percy" Annabeth rolled her eyes at him.
"Okay," Percy decided he had his fair share of weirdness already, so he decided to go to his cabin.
The Poseidon Cabin still looked very much the same. It was still ow but very wide and it had that atmosphere around it that makes you feel you're at the beach. Per y went inside and found that the other beds were now occupied. He remembered the first time he came here. He did not know what to do back then, he thought that most people around him were crazy and he needed to find his mom. He couldn't help but smile. Right now, he was pretty sure he still did not know what to do. Percy did not have a plan, all he knew was that he needed to meet Tiresias. He was willing to bet that that guy has some sort of magic that can help them win the war and defeat Gaea.
He explored the cabin a bit more and was surprised that the fountain was still there. He was even more surprised when he found a statue of himself at the middle of fountain. He was poised in battle and held Riptide like a commander.
Percy went to his former bed and sat down. He glanced at the wall and saw his old Minotaur Horn. He took it and studied it carefully.
"My first monster," He remembered the day he first came into Camp. It was not very pleasant.
"Thinking of the past?" Annabeth suddenly materialized next to him which made Percy jump and take out Riptide. He had Annabeth pinned in a matter of seconds.
"Would you stop doing that?" Percy sheathed Riptide. "It gives me the creeps."
"Sorry, if I scared the great Commander of Chaos," Annabeth saw Percy wince as she said that.
"Don't call me that." He shifted uncomfortably and sighed. Annabeth looked at him with that gray eyes of her and he knew he would have to tell her anyway. "Chaos is . . . Chaos is gone."
Annabeth's eyes widened but she didn't seem shocked.
"I had a dream about it. I saw Gaea and Moros." Percy's voice faltered. He laid down on his bed and continued. "I saw them torturing Chaos. He tried to fight back, but Gaea had the Fates with her. They cut Chaos' string and then he was gone. Chaos was the source of our power, without him we also lost them. We're not Chaos Warriors anymore." Percy swallowed the big lump in his throat. "We're just normal again."
"You're not normal," Annabeth said. Her voice was not mocking but instead encouraging. "You're a demigod. And from what I've heard the other Chaos Warriors are aliens from different galaxies."
"But what chance have we got against Gaea and the other Primordials?" Percy looked hopeless and he has good reason too. Their Chaos powers were what made them formidable, but without them they were vulnerable. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bring you down. I just feel so useless."
"Percy, what I'm saying is that you – we are not powerless." Annabeth smiled and remembered giving him this talk back when they still fought together. Percy would feel down and Annabeth would give him some pep talk. She held his hand and squeezed it. "We have the power of the gods, Percy. Think of all the past quests you've done. Gaea will just be like one of them."
A loud boom erupted outside. Percy looked through the window and saw smoke coming from somewhere. This is not good, he thought.
Percy and Annabeth ran towards the source of all the commotion. There, beside the Big House was Stephen trying to hold back Drake in his Ifrit form, but the bad part was the other Chaos Warriors. They were routing Camp Half-Blood and trashing the cabins and attacking the other campers.
Percy could feel his blood boil. It was bad enough that Drake kicked him out of his own ship, but now he had to hurt his friends too? He was tired of not fighting back. The only reason why he hadn't broken Drake's bones was because they advocated peace. But now that Chaos is gone, maybe Percy could make a little adjustment. He's sure nobody would miss Drake anyway.
"Save the other campers." Percy said to Annabeth and did not wait for her reply. He rushed towards Stephen and Drake. They were locked in combat and just as Drake was about to spit fire at point blank range, Percy summoned a large wave of water that hit him in tha face.
"You alright, Steph?" Percy took out Riptide and prepared for battle. The bronze blade glowed, and showed no signs of age or rust.
"You didn't need to do that." Stephen was panting and he wiped a wound on his face, probably form Drake's claws. "I could take him down."
"I know you could," Percy said, not taking his eyes off the Ifrit while talking. "But I need you to help Annabeth. Make sure everyone's safe. Stop any Chaos Warrior from hurting any camper, okay?"
It was obvious Stephen did not like it, but obeyed Alpha nonetheless.
"So, you want more?" Percy said, turning his attention back to Drake. If they aren't fighting, Percy would've admitted that Drake's Ifrit form was amazing. Where his nose should have been was now replaced with something like a dog snout and his fangse were ultra sharep. His hair was all flames and he had huge muscles in his arms. Percy gulped and thought of the countless monsters he had slain. This one would be the same, right?
Don't be stupid." Drake glared at him. "You had help back there."
"You still can't defeat me either way." Percy decided that talking instead of fighting would do him more good here. "After all, Chaos did appoint me as Commander."
"Stop talking!" Drake snapped and threw a giant fireball at him. Percy reacted quickly and deflected the fireball with the flat of his blade.
Drake lunged and he had no time to react. Large claws swiped at his chest and Percy fell back and landed on the ground. He was breathing heavily and his arms felt numb after the collision with the fireball. He looked down and saw that he was dripping in his own blood.
Drake howled with laughter. "See? You're nothing without your stupid friends." He paced walked towards him like he was enjoying the moment. "I don't get why Chaos chose you over me. I'm stronger, faster and better at everything." Drake conjured a fireball at his hand and threw it away randomly. It hit the Hephaestus cabin and it exploded, destroying everything.
"No!" Percy looked if there was any casualties, but luckily there was no one close enough. He saw the Romans fighting back, Jason leading them. But the Chaos Warriors advanced technologies and training held them back. He also saw Annabeth taking the injured towards some place safe. It would only be a matter of time before they were overwhelmed. "Don't hurt them. It's me you want, right? Don't tell me you're still afraid even though I'm already injured!"
"Pitiful," Drake said in disgust. "You're about to die and you still care about them? Why? Why would you throw your life away for them?"
"You won't understand." Percy spat at him. "You're just a selfish jerk who wants everything for himself! You want to know why Chaos chose me? It's because I care about others. Unlike you, I have a heart!"
Drake suddenly screamed. He was in pain. He turned and Percy saw two arrows protruding from his back. Percy looked at where Drake was looking and saw Chiron, bow in his hands and preparing another shot. Drake blew fire from his mouth at Chiron's direction and the centaur galloped away.
"Maybe I'll make your little friend suffer a bit before going back to you," Drake smirked at him. He lunged at Chiron and his landing cause a minor earthquake which made the centaur lose his balance and fall down. Drake gripped his neck and strangled him.
"Stop! No." Percy could only watch as Chiron was trashing around Drake's grip. He could hear Annabeth screaming somewhere and asking for help, but there was no one.
Lightning erupted. A million volts of energy crashed down into Drake from the heavens. There was only one being who could make something like that.
Zeus.
But the god of gods did not come. Instead, Thalia ran towards where Drake dropped Chiron. Percy tried to stand up, but his wounds made it hard. He felt a hand on his shoulder. Percy turned and saw Sapphire, her brown eyes looking sad. She helped him up and they went towards Chiron.
Chiron's face looked peaceful. His skin smelled burnt and he had a few broken limbs. He's unconscious, Percy, he thought. Chiron can't be . . .
"Percy . . ."
Percy looked surprised and stumbled beside his old teacher and friend.
"I'm here."
"I knew you'd come back."
"I wish I came back sooner."
"Well, what's done is done." Chiron's voice was weak and husky. Percy knew he was battling death right now. "We don't blame you for leaving. If anything, we blame ourselves for not being by your side when you needed us most."
"Stop talking." Percy's eyes were now clouded with tears. Everyone was listening. The fighting stopped when Drake was struck down and it seemed like his followers ran away and took him. Percy couldn't care any less about them. "Save your energy. We're gonna have to fix you up. I bet Mr. D will be pissed when he finds out you can't play pinochle." Percy tried to make the mood light but it was not working. Annabeth was crying somewhere and Thalia couldn't look at him.
"I've lived for a long, long, long, long time. I've made a lot of mistakes in my life. I've trained almost every hero, but I never knew this day would come. I try not to think about it." Chiron looked Percy right in the eye. "Percy, the gods need you. They've shunned you in the past but believe me they tried to correct their mistakes. Forgive them please. There is power in forgiving." Chiron's breathing was getting shorter and faster. Things were not looking good.
"Promise me you'll help them." Chiron held his hand firmly. "You are this world's only hope."
Percy might hate the gods, but if Chiron last wish was of him working with them, he would do it no matter what. "I promise."
"Thank you." Chiron smiled and closed his eyes. "Hercules, Jason, Achilles . . . I can see them all again. Perhaps we can all meet too someday . . ." Chiron trailed off and we hear nothing else. Everyone was silent except the occasional sobbing. The centaur turned into golden dust and was swept by the wind upward, into the stars.
Percy stood up after a little while. "Let's go. We've got work to do."
Please review. I love reviews. Maybe I shouldn't have killed Chiron . . . but he did say "What's done is done" so meh. Again I'm sorry for not updating for a loooooooooooooooong tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime
