This is my first Hunger Games story so if anyone is out of character, I apologize. For anyone who was reading my Harry Potter story, The Hogwarts Staff Reads the Deathly Hallows, I will post on my profile where I will have moved it to when it does and a new update will go with it.
One Week Before the 74th Hunger Games
"We need to get more ratings!" President Snow, leader of Panem, yelled angrily to the Head Gamemaker Seneca Crane. "The Hunger Games are not as popular as in past years. We need to change something."
"Are you sure? The people pretty captivated with the tributes from Twelve. Their entrance was one of the best in years."
"I know that, but it won't necessarily help them in the arena. No one is assured victory. We need something to keep the people glued to their televisions. We need something no one will expect."
"But next year is the Quarter Quell. Should we wait till next year when ratings will naturally be higher? I mean, the rules have hardly changed since the Games were initiated. I think we should not change tradition," said Crane, trying to reason with the leader. "Won't this change just cause mass confusion?"
"Yes, and it will keep the audience captivated and make the tributes work harder to live. Now think of something!" President Snow refused to listen to the Gamemaker. Luckily for him, since he was leader, he could have him executed and replace him with someone who will agree him.
"I think I have something," Crane spoke, interrupting the President's thoughts. "How about we…"
The very beginning of the 74th Hunger Games
For sixty seconds the tributes stand on the circular platforms before being allowed to rummage through the Cornucopia. For that one minute, they begin to feel different, as though they are not themselves. They do not know what is happening as the gong rings throughout the arena. They do not know that their original fates have changed for the worse…
Just a short prologue. If you want, but you don't have to, tell me what you think. Original stories are something I'm quite not used to.
