"He is getting a little better but he isn't receiving the treatment he needs right now. I can't give him the right care with his condition and nor can you and Alfred no matter how much you cut into your work and night activities."

"I won't send him away."

"No, you put him where he needs to be. It's not a death sentence and despite Hollywood stereo types if you pick the right facility he will be fine. You could still visit everyday if you wanted to."

"I won't jeopardize our mission. In his state there is no telling what he will blurt out in his ravings." Dr. Tompkins set her hand on the armrest of the ruby red coach she was sitting on and shook her head sadly.

"You could at least try bringing him in for a couple days at a time or do outpatient. He never mentions anything like that you know." Bruce remained stiff and smoothed out the wrinkles in his pant leg.

"The risk is still there."

"You really think I'd tell the world our secret don't you?"

"I believe there is a chance that you might not be able to comprehend the situation or control yourself. Yes."

Richard walked further into the room and sat down on the armrest the furthest from Bruce. He gazed at them with clear eyes.

"I wouldn't say anything."

"You cannot know that."

"So if that wasn't a problem would you have sent me away already?"

"Yes, for your own good. You need a doctor but let me answer your question. No, I would not be abandoning you. You realize there are such things as visiting hour."

"Would it be Arkham?"

"No." Richard look surprised. "I'd send you somewhere else. That would mean I'd see less of you but at this point your treatment is what matters."

Richard frowned.

"You're already medicating me. Isn't that enough, not to mentions hours of therapy."

Bruce sent a glare Richard's way.

"You know the answer to that. You know what Tompkins talked about. But this isn't what I want to talk to you about. One of your friends will be coming to visit you."

Richard got up in excitement and glanced at Tompkins for confirmation who nodded.

"Just one, I called Starfire and she will be arriving later tonight."

A genuine smile floated across the boy's face and he rushed out of the room.

"Where are you going?"

"Cleaning!"

"He can never seem to keep that room of his clean now even with my help." Alfred chuckled from behind. Bruce smiled after him. Richard began arranging all the Titan's gifts he had received on his dresser instead of the floor by his bed. He also swept up his Robin mask and stared at it as it lay flat in his hands. This was going to be the first time any of the Titans would see him without a mask.

This would show them that he trusted them. Bruce trusted him and perhaps it might help him make up for what he did. Bruce was standing in the doorway when he looked up and once spotted sat down on the bed next to him.

"What if they want me to come back? I can't after what I did."

Bruce took the mask from him and moved to put it on his face.

"Hey, stop it."

"Hold still."

"No."

Despite his protest he felt a firm hand cup the back of his neck as the other smoothed the mask over his face. He drew back and smiled at him.

"Why'd you do that? Aren't you going to tell them who we are."

"Of course we are."

"Then why'd you make me put on my mask again?"

"Because."

Richard glared at him as he smiled softly at him.

"You'll go back. One of these days because it's your responsibility."

He looked away and stared at the wall.

"It's your duty to those that died. Starfire can help you get back into shape."

"You're going to let me train?"

"You need to start doing more than reading the latest fiction book. Besides, I read that exercising daily helps keep the episodes away."

"You did not just say that."

He chuckled. "You'll get back into it quickly."

"What if I don't?"

"You will."

He reached over and gently pulled the mask off his face.

"You're meeting her as you today though. I trust them enough. Come on lets meet her on the runway."

He patted Richard's back and the two hopped off the bed and made their way downstairs. Once outside they settled near the hangar for tea. It wasn't long before they saw a jet over the horizon racing towards them. As it came to a stop, the hatch flung open and a normal looking girl with blue jeans and a pink T-shirt rushed down the stairs and slung her arms around Richard.

"Friend! I am so happy to see you! Words can simply not describe it! Look!" She pulled back at arm's length "I have brought you the Tamaranian trinket of a friend well missed."

Into his hands she dropped a huge purple ball that he almost dropped at the unexpected weight. It took him about three seconds of embarrassingly struggling to hold it for Bruce to carelessly swoop it from his hands and set it on the table. Richard blushed scarlet but was soon attacked by another hug. He hugged her back fulheartedly.

Alfred appeared and unloaded the bags off the plane. She broke apart from him and gave Bruce a deep hug with her head pressed to his chest. Bruce looked annoyed yet returned the jester with less enthusiasm. They broke apart.

"How are you! I am so happy you are both well!"

"Yes, thank you. Richard why don't you take her to your room to catch up. Don't hesitate to come get me if you need something."

Starfire's eyes brightened. "Richard." She said making him turn red again.

"And…"

"Bruce, see you at dinner."

He smiled politely at them and walked into the house.

"Come let us see your room. I promised your friends I would call as soon as we arrived."

Richard looked a little nervous.

"Actually why don't you just call them."

"Oh."

Both their thoughts drifted back to the last time and stayed there awkwardly. Richard recalled how his physiatrist talked to him about the visit. He cautioned him about getting overexcited and even Dr. Tompkins told him to take things slowly. Usually he wouldn't care but he didn't want to have an episode in front of Starfire. She had seen enough.

"Why don't I just show you the house?"

"Sure."

The pair left the garden and began wondering the paths of the large mansion. Dick talked about random items or events that happened in the house. Starfire made comments and told stories of when she was growing up in her castle. Before long it was time for lunch and Alfred came to get them.

After lunch Starfire found herself alone in the house because Richard had gone off to speak with his doctor. She had been alarmed but he said it was normal. It was about forty minutes later when he returned.

"So what did the doctor do? Are you okay?"

"We just talked Star about what I'm feeling, the crowd and what not."

"The crowd? I thought they were gone." She looked fearful for him.

"I almost always see the crowd. Well not as much as I used to. I've gotten better."

"Oh."

"I'm taking medicine so that helps. Why don't we go talk in my room."

She nodded and began following him up the stairs. One they entered his room she recognized it as the room the Titans had talked to him in.

"Yeah so I'm taking meds right now to stop the hallucinations but therapy helps more. The doctors think I developed a mild case of bipolar disorder or something. I don't know. It's not an official diagnoses yet or anything. I don't know. It only got bad because of Slade's drugs. Well, they think it was more the drugs and I would have done all that without the disorder but yeah. How's the city? Do they know?"

"No, we thought it best they did not know. We said Ringleader harmed you so you were out of duty and recovering."

"Oh."

"It's true in a way."

"I suppose but it was still me."

"Yes."

"…"

"I was told you were going to start training again."

"Oh I uhh…"

"I would be happy to assist you! I could even do the exercises with you."

"Starfire aren't you fit enough?"

"I just use my powers and call me Kori."

"What?"

"I'm not supposed to draw attention to myself or that I am related to Starfire so call me Kori."

She smiled brightly at him and Richard smiled back. They talked for hours and hours about the Titans, the city, things missed and things lost until Starfire suggested they go find the others. She had noticed Richard tensing up and decided to find the people who would know how to care for him.

It wasn't hard to find Bruce. He was sitting in his office typing away at his computer. He took one look at Richard, got up and walked over to the pair.

"I think it's time for bed."

She spoke and plopped his large hand on top of his ward's shoulder.

"Off you go."

"I'm not three."

"Oh, I shall retire as well."

Starfire wished them goodnight before Bruce lead him up the stairs. She turned to find Alfred next to her.

"He acts up when he's tired. Not all the time but it doesn't help. I don't suppose he showed you to your room?"

"No." Alfred smiled at her. "It's this way."

"I don't remember training being so vigorous."

"Really Star that's great. Now I know why Bruce left you to watch me."

"I don't understand."

Starfire looked puzzled as she floated in front of Richard who hung upside-down from a bar in the Bat cave trying to finish his workout. His brow was fixed, face red and skin glistening. After laboriously lifting his body one last time his face relaxed a little.

"Yes!" He wheezed. "I'm done. Go get him."

Starfire crossed her arms over her chest.

"I was told not to leave you."

"Well someone has to get me down!"

He whined and pawed his arms at the ground. Starfire laughed and began to unfasten his legs from the bar. When she put him on the ground he immediately ran for the water bottle he had and drank slowly.

"Gosh I thought I'd only have to work that hard once!"

"But you have gotten so much better."

"Yeah, I've probably moved from wimp to average human being."

"No you're more than average. You're Robin!"

At this she collected him into her arms and spun him around in the air.

"Ahh! Starfire. Okay, okay! You can put me down now."

She giggled and happily put him down.

"When do you think you can put on your costume?"

"I don't know. I'd rather not think about it."

"But aren't you excited."

"No more like scared and nervous."

"I am sure you will do fine."

She squeezed his shoulder and flew to the exit of the cave. "We should go eat lunch and you need to see your doctor."

"Alright I'm coming." He snapped.

"I did not mean to offend you."

"No sorry. I'm just tense about this whole thing. I guess I'll just talk to Tompkins about it but I don't know. I understand why I have to be Robin again. I can't face charges without giving Batman away so it's how I can atone. I'm just afraid of what I'll do when I get out there again."

"You'll be fine."
