I haven't been on this side of FanFiction in a loooong time. I missed it a lot.

This is just a one-shot I thought of when I was rereading ANGEL. It's just my take on how I think Fang should've have left in the ending. But that doesn't mean that I wanted him to leave; I am a true FAX fan forever and he was a big 'butthead' as Iggy put it. ;D

I don't own anything!

"We're gonna take off." Fang sad sadly looking into Max's glazed eyes.

The same eyes that he had seen his whole life. The anger when fighting with a whitecoat— or sadly in the end, with him. The hope when he used to come to close to her. The laughter, happiness and memories from all of the times the whole flock was together— as one. But all of that was gone now. The only thing that he could see in her eyes now was sorrow and misery. Something that Fang could no longer change. Something that he had lost control over when he left. He lost his chance to make Max happy. In fact, he hadn't lost it; he just gave it up—by leaving. Giving her up was the mistake that he regrets most in his life.

Max nodded her head slowly and sighed, "Sure, whatever." Like she gave a damn about him and his stupid gang! Like she cared what he did. He had left her. He had abandoned the flock. He just left only leaving a stupid letter behind.

"Max, I'm sorry…" Fang said quietly, but trailed off when he saw Max turn her back swiftly and walk away to accompany the flock. The flock that he used to belong to, but left. The now broken, devastated and shattered flock.

"If only it could have lasted, Max…" Fang whispered as he took flight in the dark shadowy sky leaving Max, the flock and possibly Angel behind— forever.
