Kate walked out of the Professor's office with dry eyes, but they still burned from the tears. She was sure that her eyes were red-rimmed and a bit bloodshot because a student stopped her and asked if she was okay. After that, she put herself in stealth mode. Kate grew up hating the question: are you okay? It made her feel like people wanted to pry into her personal business, and that was what she hated most. It wasn't that she hated the student for asking about her well-being, she just disliked the question.
Out of one of the windows, she saw Logan puffing on a cigar and leaning against a stone pillar. His facial expression seemed lost, yet concentrated; as if he was thinking about something that he was dead set on figuring out. She shook her head in distaste because there was no smoking on the campus. Still in stealth, she made her way towards him and snatched the cigar from his hands before throwing it in a running fountain by the front foyer.
She looked back at him and began to chuckle lightly. His face was priceless as he gave a look of surprise, anger and confusion. Kate watched as his forehead crinkled and his lips parted, distracting her from leaving. She couldn't deny that he was unbelievably handsome. She remembered the day that she had met Logan, and when she first saw him; naked with nothing but a sack to hide his lower regions. An immense blush rose to her cheeks and she watched Logan look straight at her. The distraction had lessened her invisibility and the only thing she could think of to say was: "There's no smoking on the campus."
Logan raised an eyebrow and Katie turned to walk inside and make her way to her room. Her stomach began to hurt from running on an empty stomach. She was ignoring the growls and noise coming from her belly and had a million thoughts running through her head. How was it that he really didn't recognize her? Kate didn't look that much different, in her own opinion. However, the Professor stated that he didn't remember most of his past. What had happened to Logan to make him forget his past? Did it have something to do with the man who killed her parents?
After coming to The School, Kate did some research and it had turned out that there had been quite a few mutant disappearances during the time she lived at her grandparent's house. What really made her curious, was that she wasn't on the list of missing persons. Her parent's death made front page, but her disappearance wasn't listed. The Professor assured her it was because mutants weren't as liked, or put up with, as they are nowadays, so when they disappeared, they were only reported missing if their parents put out the Amber Alert.
Shaking her head, she finally reached her room and slumped down on her bed. Kate sighed and began thinking about Logan again. Would he ever leave her mind now that he was there at The School with her? The answer to that was most likely a no, but she was going to forget about that now and go to the kitchen to eat. She sat up in her bed and began undressing from her workout clothes. Once she was just in her bra and underwear, she stood in front of her full body mirror to give herself a once-over. She pulled the band from her hair to let it cascade down her shoulders and to the middle of her back in soft waves. Smiling, she looked at the reflection of herself in her royal blue thong and bra lingerie set. She wasn't going to lie, she was a drop dead gorgeous piece of ass, and she looked damn good in blue. She closed her eyes and breathed a sigh of content. However, she felt a soft rush of wind on her bare behind, making her jump and turn around to find a clueless Logan standing in her doorway.
"Jesus Christ!" She yelled yanking her blanket off her bed to cover herself. "Do you know how to fucking knock?"
"I, uh…" he stuttered, "I was wantin' to know if you wanted some breakfast. I could hear your stomach growlin' earlier, and I, uh…"
"You could hear that?" She asked quietly. "Wait, why are you asking me to breakfast? No, can you shut my door and turn around so I can dress?"
Logan wrinkled his forehead in confusion, but turned around and shut the door that was now in front of him. "I wanted to talk to you. Wheels said-"
"First off," Kate said, cutting into Logan's sentence. "his name is Professor Xavier. If you're going to stay here, you need to refrain from calling him anything else." She said as she slipped on her jeans.
"Why would I do that?"
Kate grabbed his arm and turned him towards her. "Because he's been nothing but fucking nice to you." Her tone became low and deadly as she spoke to him. "Because he's like a father figure to all of us here and we do nothing but give him respect, to which he returns to us. Now, as I said, you are to call him nothing but Professor Xavier in front of me. Am I clear?"
Logan shook his head and smirked. This girl really is somethin', he thought to himself. "I wanted to talk to you because Professor Xavier," he mocked her tone from her correction. "said that you and I really needed to discuss something about my past."
Kate's eyes widened in shock. The Professor told him about her involvement in Logan's life? She was only a child back then. There was no way that he was going to think that the information was valuable. Instead of making him leave to avoid embarrassment of the upcoming conversation, like she wanted to, she said three words. "Take a seat."
