Hey, Dark Gothic Lolita here!

I HAVEN'T UPDATED THIS STORY IN SO LONG!

I am literally on my knees with my head on the floor, APOLOGIZING to you lovely readers of mine! I am so sorry for leaving you all for so long (I think it's been well over 2 years) and I haven't forgotten this story. It was the laziness. This story requires for me to re-read the old chapters of the ring conflict and most of the time, I didn't want to. But I've been on a hiatus for over three months now (probably 4 since I last updated my last story) and I've decided to update pretty much everything that I still want to be writing for. This was one of them of course!

So yes, enjoy me while I'm here, you might not get another update for a while (I'll try my best to make sure it's not another 2-3 year wait) as I am in my final year at university (college) and I have more of a social life than I did back when I was 15, which is when I originally started this story (omg, how could I have started this story back in 2012, last update in 2015 and now it's 2017 I'm NOWHERE near the end?!).

I feel like it's so hard updating this story because the manga ended SO MANY YEARS AGO. You could probably see that I've drifted mostly to Fairy Tail stuff as that's more recent. I bet no one will even read this update because who really and truly still cares about KHR like that? It's a shame, but the truth. I really want to know who Tsuna picked to be his wife though!

ANYWAY! Let's get cracking! Pretty sure we all know I don't own KHR, and I am sooorrrryyyy for any spelling and grammatical errors!

ENJOY!

Chapter twelve

It had been a few nights since Hibari and Mukuro had been peering through Haru's room, and Nagi had remained oblivious to the whole meeting. The two girls walked up to the junction where they usually meet the four boys and Hana and Kyoko. Haru was yawning endlessly, but still, she managed to keep up with her upbeat self. Nagi was grinning at her as they spoke.

"Haru, I think I'm ready for my fight! I've been training more and more and I know that tonight it's the mist guardian's turn. Before, I wanted Mukuro to be the one to do the fighting and for me to just stand back because I know that he's the stronger one out of the both of the both of us, but now, I think I want to be the one that fills in that place. Mukuro doesn't even like being in the famiglia. Do you think boss will let me fight?"

Haru nodded her head enthusiastically. She had been beaten day in and day out by Lal whenever she wasn't studying or helping Tsuna study as well, and although she was still incredibly weak compared to the acrobaleno, she could feel herself getting better each and everyday. She wanted to be able to make sure that her friend felt strong and that her efforts weren't going to waste.

"Definitely! Tsuna-san will be happy if Nagi were to participate instead of her mean brother! Besides, Haru has faith in Nagi. Haru knows you can do it."

The brunette stuck her thumb up and winked at the girl who giggled and looked at the people they were waiting for. They all came from different directions to come and meet in the middle. As soon as Tsuna saw Haru, his eyes lit up in a way that made Haru feel so special. He had unconsciously stopped listening to what Gokudera and Yamamoto were yammering on about and a smile crawled up on his face.

Haru blushed as she clutched onto his arm like she did every morning. Ever since she had told him about the ring that she had found and her new ability, it was like they had reached a new level of trust and understanding.

They all greeted each other before they decided that it was best they moved on to head to school, before Hibari bit them all.

As soon as they even got to the school gate, something came flying out of nowhere and headed straight for Yamamoto. They all jumped at the star baseball player for the school had quickly brought his bat up to protect his body from the one person in the school who was fast and vicious enough to attack him.

"What the fuck Hibari, we still have plenty of time before homeroom starts and there are more people crowding everywhere else than we are!" Gokudera shouted at the head prefect, wondering what the hell was wrong with him so early in the morning.

Yamamoto merely laughed as Hibari retracted his tonfa away from the taller boy and Hibari just stared. "I watched your fight last night. I thought it was good enough and maybe one day, you're worthy to fight."

Yamamoto grinned at him and Gokudera rolled his eyes, tempted to pull out a cigarette to piss of the prefect. Haru unwrapped her arm from Tsuna's arm, knowing fully well that he would have to get in the middle of them both. Her and Nagi quickly muttered their goodbyes, dragging the clueless girls with them to their homeroom.

"Sure, I'll give you your fight."

"Just not now, obviously."

Hibari turned his head towards his supposed 'boss' and Yamamoto just smiled at Tsuna. Tsuna noticed the flash that went through Hibari's eyes, as if he was wondering who the hell he was, trying to order him around. Tsuna was pretty sure that even Hibari's parents didn't even do such a thing. He was a little worried on the inside though, he knew that Hibari would be his strongest guardian, maybe strongest 2 guardians if Mukuro joined them fully as well, so he didn't want to anger the guy.

"I don't remember giving you permission to order me around, omnivore."

Tsuna wanted to sigh out loud, but nobody sighs as Hibari and gets away with it, so instead, he just shrugged. He had to find a way to keep this little spat contained.

"I wasn't ordering you Hibari-san, I was just trying to ask you if you can postpone your match to a later date, as the battle of the rings match is still taking place. That and we're in school as well as Yamamoto is still feeling tired from yesterday's match."

Tsuna wasn't stupid. Well, not as stupid as he used to be. No, Haru remedied that. Tsuna had caught the way Hibari had looked at Nagi whenever she wasn't looking, and whenever he wasn't looking, he had caught the way Nagi looked at Hibari. It was safe to say that both of them had some sort of crush on each other and just didn't know how to go along with it. Maybe talking about the ring conflict will make Hibari remember the match going on tonight and that Nagi will be fighting.

It seemed to work. Tsuna knew he was the only one who saw it. Hibari's eyes widened ever so slightly, so very miniscule to the human eye, but Tsuna knew because of his hyper intuition, he caught it.

"Herbivores, get to class. I want to talk to this omnivore."

Gokudera was about to curse him into oblivion. As if he would really leave his boss alone with a nutcase, but Tsuna placed a hand on his shoulder as a form of reassurance. The storm guardian stopped short to look at his boss as Tsuna just smiled at him to calm down.

"It'll be okay, just head up, the both of you. I'll follow you shortly."

He was grumbling and when Yamamoto tried to sling his arm over his shoulder, the smoker shrugged it off so harshly, you would have thought Yamamoto's arm would just snap out of the socket. Tsuna watched as they walked inside the school building before he turned to face Hibari. He waited for him to speak, even though he already knew what he was going to ask him.

"Who did you choose for the fight tonight?"

Tsuna hitched up his falling bag onto the single shoulder that he had let it hang from. He shrugged his shoulders. "Whoever wants to fight just needs to come and ask me. It's not my decision to make. I know how strong Mukuro is and that we would like to win and get that ring, but I also know how hard Chrome has been training with you, for this sole moment and that she's just as strong as Mukuro."

Hibari raised an eyebrow at the younger boy. That action was a question in itself and Tsuna knew what he was asking.

"You think I didn't know that you were training with her? It came as a shock at first, considering you hate Mukuro and hate illusions. But then I guess it all made sense why you were doing it for her." Tsuna gave him a wide grin and it unnerved Hibari that someone knew his well hidden secret. He really needed to stop being surprised by Tsuna's abilities, he knew that Tsuna could read through people.

"It's up to whoever asks me first."

With that, Tsuna started walking into the building with Hibari watching him. Ever since Haru had shown up to the school, Tsuna had gotten stronger and a WHOLE lot smarter. Hibari shook his head, a small smirk showing up on his lips. He was old fashioned and as much as the girls in the school angered him, he did believe in true love. He believed in the red string of fate and he knew that Tsuna had found the end of his in Haru's hands. He also believed that Nagi had the other end to his one.

~x~

It was nearing the end of their lunch period when Nagi finally plucked up enough courage. She gripped her hand and held it to her chest tightly as she walked up to Tsuna where he was sitting and talking with the other two guardians. They noticed her approach before he did and they nodded before taking their leave.

Haru was working through one of the textbooks so that she didn't really have any work to do when she got home. Only she wasn't really concentrating properly. She watched as her best friend made her way over to Tsuna and she couldn't help but smile. Gokudera and Yamamoto both came near her.

"I'm guessing you encouraged her to ask boss if she could be the mist guardian for the night."

Haru flashed them a huge grin as she nodded her head. "Yep! Though Haru has a sneaky suspicion that there was someone before Haru to encourage her to do so...Oh well, Haru isn't so sure."

"Couldn't you always find out with your eye thing?"

Haru stuck out her tongue and shook her head. "Haru doesn't like using her analyze ability, it's an invasion of privacy really. Before, Haru couldn't control it, but now that she can, she would never use it on her friends."

Gokudera shrugged, pulling out a cigarette and opened the window so that the smoke would fly out into the open air. Their sensei smelt the smoke, but he knew he had to ignore it. Having both Gokudera and Haru in his class, they proved to be not only forces to not be reckoned with, but it made him look like the greatest teacher to grace the school. Even Tsuna's grades were skyrocketing. There was no way he would stop them from having their fun. Just as long as they made him get bonuses.

"Ah, boss!"

"Hey Chrome, you okay?"

The girl nodded and bit her lip, not really knowing what to say. She shook her head. If she can be so open in front of Hibari, then she could be open in front of Tsuna who was the nicest boss she had ever met. Of course she could ask him. She took a deep breath and let her arms flop down by her side. Her singular eye showed determination.

"Boss, I would like to be the mist guardian that takes part tonight."

They both stared at each other and Tsuna gave her a soft smile and nodded. "That's all I was waiting for. I hope your training with Hibari has been going good. He's not working you too hard is he?"

Nagi stared at him in surprise before she glowed red and started stuttering. He had figured the both of them out! "N-no boss, he's very kind to me. H-he was harsh when he needed to be, b-but other than that h-he was very nice."

Nagi was so sure she heard him grumble immaturely under his breath something that sounded like "that's because he actually likes you," but she wasn't too sure. She gave him a smile of her own.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure I won't let you down boss!"

Tsuna waved his hand. "I don't care about letting me down. I care that you don't get hurt. Look after yourself out there tonight Chrome. You've heard of how ruthless Varia can be."

Nagi nodded her head, her face looking serious. "Yes boss, I understand. They won't get away with what they did to Lambo-kun either." Her fists were clenched as she thought of what had happened to the young boy and she couldn't help but shake in anger. She thought of the young 5 year old that was lying in hospital right now, instead of playing and it made her blood boil. That was until Tsuna placed his hand on her shoulder with a grin, calming her down instantly. She never even knew she could be this angry.

"Just do your best out there, Chrome!"

His smile was contagious.

~x~

The last bell had rang and the whole gang were getting ready to leave. Tsuna held onto Haru's hand as they were walking out of the gates and they were surrounded by their friends.

"Nagi, you're not coming?"

The girl shook her head. "No, I need to stay back. I'm okay, I'll see you later!"

The indigo haired girl ran back into the building, but not without waving to the group. Haru raised an eyebrow and shrugged her shoulders. She was going to be okay, she was strong anyway. She just hoped that she wasn't going to stay there until her fight began.

Nagi ran back into the building before stopping and then walking. She had one person in mind that she wanted to see and she knew exactly where she would find him. There were still students loitering around, be it because they had detentions or sports clubs to go to.

She made her way up the stairs before pushing the door that led out onto the roof. There he was with his little Hibird on his head as he fell asleep. Nagi always thought that Hibari was extremely handsome and dangerous, but she did enjoy it whenever she caught him sleeping. He looked so peaceful and unguarded.

She went and sat down next to his stationary body and waited for when he thought it was okay to acknowledge her presence and wake up. Instead of doing what he would usually do, which was grunt before peeling his eyes open, he just moved so that his head was now on her lap.

Nagi's face went up in flames as she looked down at the prefect who was now smirking in his sleep, as he used her lap as a cushion. She didn't know what to do, she had never been put in this situation before, talk less of being in the situation with probably the most dangerous guy in Namimori who was her crush at the same time!

"Uh, Hibari-san?"

"Shhh herbivore. I'm tired."

"But Hibari-san!"

Nagi couldn't help but squeak when Hibari nuzzled his head against her bare legs and her face went from being plain red to a deep crimson colour. She was so happy that it was the end of the school day and that they were alone.

She sighed and ran her hand through his hair, earning a grunt of approval from the cloud guardian. She smiled simply and continued to rake her hand at a slow pace.

"I asked boss if I could be the one to fight tonight." She felt the boy underneath her freeze before she decided to continue. "He said yes."

Hibari released a slow sigh of relief and his breath tickled her legs as she giggled. "Thank you for training with me, even though you hate illusions. I really appreciate it."

Hibari sat up and looked her right in the eye. She blushed once again, but she didn't let her own stare waver. She was waiting for him to do something, and he knew that she was waiting for him too.

"It's my pleasure."

Without even realising it, Nagi's face twisted into a disappointed frown. She really thought that maybe, just maybe, he might kiss her. But then again, why would that happen? Hibari wasn't that sort of person. Little did she know, that Hibari witnessed that frown.

He sighed a little, before talking. "You know, Mukuro asked for me to look out for you. I'm not going to say why, it's not my place. He's an idiot though, he should have known that from the moment I met you, I've always been looking out for you."

It took her a while to understand it, and when she did, her eyes widened in shock. She couldn't believe that this is what he was saying to her! Before she could even say anything, Hibari pecked her cheek gently and above their heads, Hibird burst out into the only song that he knew. Namimori's anthem.

Hibari was pleased with the new expression that Nagi had now dawned on her face and he lay back down on her lap, enjoying their silence together as they were both thinking about tonight.

Nagi had initially been shocked from both Hibari's words and actions, but she no longer had a reason to be disappointed. Instead, she wore a silly smile on her face and she resumed to raking her hand through his hair. She was going to make him proud of her tonight when she fought against the mist guardian of Varia.

~x~

The time finally came for Nagi's fight. Somehow, the girl looked calm as the rest of the guardians minus Lambo and Yamamoto who decided he was going to stay home and rest were discussing the weird baby that she was up against. Haru came and put a hand on her shoulder, which made the mist guardian open her eyes and look at who was comforting her.

She smiled at the smiling face as they both embraced each other. "Haru knows that Nagi is going to do well, Haru can feel it! Knock them out of the ring!"

At the word 'ring', Ryohei perked up and bounded over to the two girls, excitement lighting up in his eyes. The two girls raised an eyebrow at him and looked at him nervously.

"That's the spirit Haru, let's all huddle up!"

After spending a lot of time with Hibari and his attitude rubbing off on her a lot more than she would like to admit, Nagi was ready to decline doing something so embarrassing, especially in front of their enemies. This was a real battle where one could potentially lose their lives, not some kid's game.

However, before she could even open her mouth, Haru grabbed her arm happily and launched her into the huddle. Nagi had to bite back the biggest groan that was about to escape from her lips. Gokudera voiced his indignation. If Hibari were here, there was no way he would have let that happen.

"Okay, okay, you can let go of her now, Chrome is ready to fight. Stay safe out there, okay?"

The mist guardian smiled and nodded at her boss as Haru released her arm. She looked over at her best friend who was grinning at her and Nagi knew that she had to win. There was no time for doubts now. She felt a presence near the door and when she glanced over at it, she could see Hibari standing there, not coming in. She had to hold down the blush that was ready to show up on her face.

As she was walking, she couldn't help but get a look at Varia. She had seen then, but she had never really paid attention to them all. All she now knew was that she was going up against a baby that seemed pretty similar to Reborn and that would mean that they would be extremely powerful. She was going to have to be careful with this fight.

"Huh, here I thought that Mukuro was going to be the one fighting as the mist guardian, instead we got some female look-alike. I didn't know the pineapple had a younger pineapple sister."

It was that stupid wannabe Prince that was talking. Whether he was really a Prince or not didn't bother her, it was the fact that he thought that her brother was going to be here and that he didn't even know who she was! Oh, she was going to show him alright. Everyone was going to know who she was by the time they were over and done with this.

"How...how voluptuous."

Nagi cringed at the man standing next to him when she heard him say that. He looked like he was already well into his 30s. What a creep.

The two next contestants met in the middle where the two women who looked alike from Cervello spoke. Nagi didn't like them much, but just as long as they kept their word on being judges and no biased, she guessed that she didn't really have a choice in who refereed the match.

"The battle of the mist Mammon vs Chrome Dokuro. Begin the battle!"

Nagi didn't waste any time as she spun her trident around over her head and slammed it into the ground where it ruptured underneath them. She could hear Tsuna's voice of panic as well as everyone else's and she knew that she was going to have to block them out. She took a quick glance at the door again and saw Hibari's face with a straight mouth. She looked back at Mammon.

"So a jutsu user like me, but this is nothing but child's play. I can't make any money off of that."

He soon latched himself onto her face with nothing but tentacles shooting out of his own. Haru grimaced at the sight of it. It looked like something out of a horror film and while she knew that they were nothing but illusions flying about, it still sent her heart racing. It also reminded her that this was the same baby that put her through many illusions when she was kidnapped by Varia. She reasoned with Hibari on a personal level when it came to hating illusions.

"Much too weak, you won't even make a good side-show."

"Is this baby really serious about sending me to a circus? Varia have some very strange individuals." Nagi was soon standing a little bit away from the baby, her trident in her hand as she watched his illusion tentacles try to suffocate 'her.'

"Who are you talking to? I'm over here."

Indeed, there she was and there was nothing but a basket of basketballs in Mammon's grip. Everyone gasped, finally getting to watch a mist user against another one. It was a rare fight that was always amazing to watch.

"She turned into a bunch of basketballs!"

Mammon soon retracted his tentacles and Haru wasn't getting a good feeling about what was going to happen next. She couldn't analyze him because that would go against all the rules of the game, though she wouldn't mind scaring him and making him wonder why he isn't able to move. That would be a sight. Unfortunately, this wasn't her fight, so she tried to make sure she had all the willpower on earth to not do so.

"Oh good, you're more or less a worthy opponent. Then I can use that to my heart's content. Before those two stupid chibis. Let's go, Fantasma."

Where he was standing, a chain fell to the floor and his real power was unleashed in a nanosecond. As soon as the rest of the chain fell away to the ground, there was a huge gust of wind that made his cape fly up and show off his indigo pacifier, signalling that he was indeed one of the acrobaleno. Nagi's eyes widened as well as everyone else's. Hibari bit back a growl at the dirty trick used against Nagi.

They all stared up at him as he began to float, with his frog like animal floating above his head, almost like a halo. Nagi wanted to laugh at the irony. "Even though babies are supposed to be angelic, this one is a straight up demon."

Colonnello spoke up from his corner. "That's Viper of the indigo pacifier. It's said that he's an illusionist and the only one amongst us that possesses psychic abilities, kora."

"WHAT?! Isn't that like some sort of occultic power?!" Trust Gokudera to point that out. He was a smart man, a man of science and logic. When things like psychic abilities or mist guardians themselves were thrown his way, he was never really happy about it because they defied everything that he believed in.

"I heard that he was missing in action, but I didn't think he was still alive, kora."

"Unlike you two foolish chibis, I am never negligent. I am out here trying to find out different ways to lift this curse, while you're just entertaining it."

Tsuna and Haru's heads whipped round to Reborn who just seemed to stay passive. Tsuna's hyper dying will was telling him that Viper or Mammon, whatever his name was, had just hit a nerve. A curse? What the hell was that all about?

"This isn't good, no normal illusionist can stand up to that stupid baby, kora!"

"Don't be so quick to decide that, Colonnello. Dokuro isn't a normal illusionist."

Nagi heard those words from Reborn and she felt boosted. She had been told time and time again that she had a potential inside of her and that she was going to need to burst into it one day. She had already managed to tap into the beginning of it when she trained with Hibari and it was just about training harder. She could take him on and show the world that she was on the same level as her brother, if not, higher.

"Well, no matter who you are, I'm not going to lose."

She came running forwards towards the baby and swiped at him, but he moved out of the way. He chuckled. "What a heroic effort."

Out of nowhere, he got smacked by something that he wasn't expecting. "Hm, this giant snake, isn't an illusion?"

Tsuna gasped as he watched Nagi use literally the same abilities that Mukuro had. He was pretty sure that she hadn't walked down the six paths of hell, so how on earth did she unlock such an ability?

"That's the state of beasts!"

Gokudera got what that meant immediately and had the same question that Tsuna had. "Isn't that a skill that Mukuro mastered when he walked down the six paths of hell? Nagi can do it as well?"

Tsuna watched on. "It would seem that way."

He was incredibly impressed with her and despite not knowing what it was that she was able to do, he knew that he had made the right choice when he said that he was going to wait for either sibling to ask if they could participate in the ring conflict. He knew that she would ask him and he knew that he wouldn't hesitate in saying yes. She had untapped potential and it was all coming out now.

Mammon lit up his pacifier and all the snakes disappeared. Although they couldn't see his face, they could tell that he wasn't happy in the slightest little bit. He was pissed off that this girl was mocking him and being able to produce some quality illusions. Why had the snakes felt so real?

"It's about time I unleash my powers too."

Nagi ignored him as she went into full fight mode and started spinning her trident around her head and slammed it to the floor once again. Geysers full of lava erupted from the floor and hit the ceiling of the gymnasium that they were all in.

"OUCH, THAT'S HOT!"

Tsuna turned his head to see Ryohei and Gokudera were complaining about the fire. Even though Haru knew that the fire was all fake, she still stood closer to her boyfriend who smiled at her actions. He grabbed for her hand to reassure him and she smiled back at him for caring.

"I'll admit it, your illusions are first class and if one were to believe it for even a second, they would have been roasted alive. Therefore, in this situation, your weakness is...illusion!"

The fire suddenly turned into ice. They were frozen and Nagi stood there watching it all unfold in front of her as if she knew that he was going to do that.

"Ah, the columns of fire turned into ice!"

"Thanks for captain obvious." Nagi couldn't help but think to herself as she could hear Basil speaking from the sidelines. She just stared up at the baby and wondered what his next move was going to be from here.

"The art of illusion seizes control of the person's perception. That is to say, it infiltrates the brain that governs their five senses. The stronger the illusionist abilities, the more complete the infiltration. Their illusion's rate of success is also heightened and its hold over reality is stronger. Thus, in the illusionist's case, if their illusion is successfully countered with an illusion, it means that control of their own perception is completely snatched away."

Nagi watched as the ice made its way up her leg and she just stared at it. "Why in the hell is he lecturing me? So patronizing, which is ironic because he's the baby here, not me. Let's entertain his rubbish for a while then."

Haru smirked at her friend. Oh, she had a trick up her sleeve and she couldn't wait for this little Varia brat to be the victim of it. He had been nothing but condescending the whole fight.

"How is it? The abominable power of the acrobaleno? Well then, it's time to bring this fight to an end."

Nagi found herself being thrown about until she landed on the floor. Well, she hadn't expected that, but he wasn't going to be able to do that again.

"That weapon of yours, you seem very attached to it. Can I see it?"

Nagi inwardly smirked. He thought that that was the source of her power? While it aided and amplified the illusions a lot, she didn't need it as much as people would have thought. She trained a lot without it. A huge trident like that was very inconvenient to keep carrying around and while she hid it in illusions, she would rather not carry it everywhere with her.

The trident smashed in her hands and she stared at it before the perfect plan formed in her head. Oh he was going to hate her when this fight was over and done with.

Mist flames started leaking out of her body in large amounts and everyone felt themselves holding their breath, almost as if it were poison being let out into the atmosphere. Many, if not, nobody in the room save for Hibari had seen Nagi fight, so for this to happen, even Tsuna was on edge.

The ground ripped apart once more as Mammon had to dodge whatever it was that was heading his way. He was in absolute surprise. He had been tricked! She made him believe that her trident was what she needed to make illusions, but it seemed as if the moment he 'destroyed' it, she decided to showcase her true abilities.

"You, acrobaleno, talk way too much. Very patronizing and I must say, it's come to annoy me. Please let me show you what I can do, now that you've tipped me off to the edge."

"Oh I don't think so!"

Mammon's pacifier lit up once again and this time, he caused for an entire blizzard to show up behind Nagi. Her legs were encased in ice, only this time, it started rising up her whole body. She had had enough of this ice rubbish, she was going to have to show him that he dare not look down on her again.

Her whole body was covered and she saw Mammon coming towards her.

"I'm going to smash you to pieces!"

As soon as he got in front of her face, she caused a geyser of lava to fly up to his body, trapping him inside of the fire. Then he got tangled in with vines and and flowers that started strangling him and he didn't know what was happening.

"Lotus flowers?" Colonnello was confused, but he never questioned mist users. They used pretty much anything as a weapon and a way to rip people.

"W-what is with this illusion? The sheer power of it, I'm in pain."

Belphegor looked up at him partner before staring at the girl who had finally decided to get rid of the ice surrounding her whole body. Just who exactly was she and why had they never heard about her before? Well, to be honest, they hadn't heard of anyone from this group of misfits who claimed to be the decimo generation for Vongola.

"Wow, even Viper is overwhelmed. Just who is that girl, kora?"

"That's Nagi Chrome Dokuro. Younger sister to Mukuro Rokudou. I knew she had a potential dip within her, but for it to be this high. I'm glad Tsuna made the right choice in letting her be the mist guardian. Obviously her brother would have been a better candidate because he's stronger, but he's a loose canon. I would rather it be Chrome."

"Come now acrobaleno. If you keep taking your time, I will have to wrap things up here." She grinned when he fell for her taunting. Prideful and greedy people were always so easy to annoy.

Mammon felt his anger spike at the way she was talking to him and burst free from his constraints. "Don't get cocky!"

He split him into many different clones as they all flew towards Nagi. She bit back a scoff. "Me, cocky? He's the one who's been cocky this whole time!"

"So weak."

She moved swiftly through all the clones and attacked the real Mammon with her fist. It collided with his cheek and he flew back, surprised and livid that she had dared to do such a thing.

"That was the hand combat skill state of shura."

Mammon practically stuttered in rage. "Muuu! An illusionist who resorts to hand to hand combat is hearsay! I denounce you!

The whole room started warping around them and Nagi saw out of the corner of her eyes that her famiglia were stumbling and falling all around the place. She bit her lip. This was going to have to end quickly. The likes of Ryohei was just too innocent for the mafia world, he wouldn't understand that these illusions could drain you when you'd been exposed to so many.

"Looks like Viper is going all out now. Guess he's got no choice at this point, kora."

"Well, let's put an end to this now, shall we? I've had enough of your pathetic comments, acrobaleno."

The room shifted back as lava from every angle of the room took over instead.

Ryohei groaned as he sat down holding his head. Gokudera and Basil held their stomachs and even Tsuna and Haru were weak, leaning on each other with sweat beading on their forehead. Tsuna wrapped his arms around Haru's waist to hold her up, but he wasn't doing any better, so he sat down slowly on the floor.

"I feel so sick."

Colonnello looked down at the teenagers as his bird held him in the air. "They're starting to get corrupted by the illusions."

Reborn nodded his head as he wore a flying squirrel suit to fly up. "Yeah, because these illusions act on the mind directly and they've been continuously affected since the battle began."

"Muu, so much power! Where did you learn this from?"

Nagi smiled and shook her head, as if it weren't any of his business. Mammon growled at that and his pacifier shone again. The lava froze and Nagi used this time to jump from column to column. Mammon split himself into black ink and headed towards Nagi.

She summoned her trident that everyone thought had been destroyed and she smirked, spinning it around in front of her like a fan, warding off all the ink. One small piece got through and it didn't go missed by Nagi. She purposely let him get through so she could see what attack he had.

The ink expanded until she was engulfed by his whole body and fantasma tightened himself around Mammon, as if to suffocate Nagi. Now that she had her trident, there was no way he was going to win this fight. It was already set in stone that the acrobaleno was going to win now.

Mammon was then ripped apart by the lotus flowers that surrounded Nagi as she had a simple smile on her face. Tsuna looked through heavily lidded eyes and practically grimaced at how similar Nagi and Mukuro looked.

"Disappear into...nothing..."

Nagi was soon standing in the middle of the gym by herself and it looked like a fight never happened. Everyone was looking around the room, wondering where the hell the baby had disappeared off to. Nagi hadn't...right?"

She had the two half of the rings in her hands and she held them up to the Cervello. "All I have to do is join these two rings together, right?"

"SHE WON! WOOHOO!"

The women nodded as they started making their way over to her, but there was a sound of coughing as they all turned around to see that Mammon was trying to piece himself back together.

"Ha-ha, I was just playing with you, I'm nowhere near done."

Everyone could finally breathe again and Haru looked confused as she looked up to her boyfriend. "He looks pretty done to Haru."

Tsuna had to have so much self control to not laugh at that comment. It was true. Mammon wasn't going to fight, he was all bark and no bite right now. It was kind of painful to see him in this state, but from the get go, it was clear that Nagi had the upper hand and now he was panting.

"Don't get so cocky! I have yet to show you the full extent of my powers!"

Nagi sighed and twirled her trident very boredly. It was a habit she had caught from Hibari. Whenever he was bored, he would started twirling his tonfas on his fingers, practically doing tricks with the things. Right now, that seemed to occupy Nagi's mind as Mammon was angry that her attention had now been divided.

Absent-mindedly, Nagi replied. "You should know this very well, acrobaleno. What it means when your illusionary powers are countered by another's, it means that you have completely lost control over your own perceptions."

Suddenly, Fantasma wrapped himself around his owner's neck and squeezed as tightly as he could, choking Mammon. "F-fantassma, sssstop!"

"I'll show you a little glimpse of how I got to where I am. The world of nothing teaches more than a little something. This...is my world..."

A black hole opened up behind Mammon and he was sucked in in an instance. Nagi then commanded for the black hole to enter his mouth and Mammon started expanding. He panicked greatly.

"Stop! I'm going to die!"

Nagi lifted her eyepatch and everyone held their breath. They all thought that she would have no eye because that's what she had told them all, but then some also thought that she would have an eye like Mukuro from the 6 paths of hell. The whole of Vongola were waiting in suspense as much as Varia were. The whole gym went dark as it now looked like they were floating in space.

There it was. She did have an eye, but it didn't look like one. The She had no pupils and the sclera of her eyes were black with stars dotted around the place. It looked similar to where they were all standing now. She looked like a nightmare as she grinned eerily.

"The reason why you lost was because you came against me, and then on top of that, you underestimated me. Remember my name, Nagi Chrome Dokuro, mist guardian of the Vongola Famiglia."

Mammon then popped finally and the wind blew over Varia as Belphegor and Levi watched with great surprise on their face. Had the acrobaleno just...lost?

Nagi placed her eyepatch back and then used her trident to disperse all the mist flames that was still in the area. She held out her hand to the Cervello women.

"Is this an acceptable form of my win?" On her finger, she had already joined the two rings together and wore it proudly as it gleamed in the light.

"The ring now belongs to Nagi Dokuro, who is now the winner of the mist guardian battle."

Nagi nodded her head with a smile as she watched Hibari walk away. She quickly turned to her boss who seemed a little disappointed. "Don't worry boss, he's not dead. He's probably not materialised due to the embarrassing defeat."

Tsuna sighed and nodded, before smiling. He knew that she wouldn't try and kill someone just like that.

"The next battle is between the two clouds."

They saw the large cloud guardian standing next to Xanxus and they were yet to hear him talk, talk less of know what kind of strength his level was on.

"Looks like it's that bastard, Hibari's turn."

Haru raised an eyebrow as she looked at the cloud guardian. Something was telling her that it wasn't who they were going to be expecting at all. Without any one's knowledge, she activated her analyze and stared at the man. To her surprise, he was still able to move around perfectly well and Haru turned off her ability with nothing but shock. No one had been able to withstand her ability! Either they were just that strong, or there was something else going on.

She glanced over at Reborn and knew that she was going to need to talk to him before the fight happened tomorrow. For now, they were going to bask in their third win.

Nagi wore an ear splitting grin on her face as she examined her ring for the upteenth time that night. She had been successful in leading the famiglia to glory as they had another ring at for their win. Everyone had hugged her tightly, congratulating her on her win against an acrobaleno, she was a formidable opponent! She really put fear into those around her!

She was overwhelmed by the love she received and she was grateful. She knew that now, no one was going to mess with her. She was one of the best mist users and as much as she hated to admit it, she was still behind her brother.

"Now is not the time to think about that, I was still able to help us achieve a win!"

"Uh, Nagi, Haru senses that Hibari is outside waiting for you. Probably here to congratulate you."

Haru gave her a knowing smile and Nagi ducked her head down as she blushed and nodded her head. "I'll go out and meet him now. I'll be back soon."

Nagi left the house and saw Hibari standing at the gate, leaning across the wall, waiting for her. He seemed to be inspecting his tonfa and Nagi smiled softly. He was just so good looking and she owed him for helping train her. If it wasn't for him, she wouldn't have even volunteered to fight.

"Hibari..."

He raised his head before standing up straight to greet the girl. He was silent as the wind blew through their hair. The corner of his lip quirked a little bit and Nagi's face lit up at the expression that she had just witnessed. If it were anyone else, they wouldn't have even noticed a difference in his face and they wouldn't have even thought that he was smiling, but Nagi knew better.

"Well done on tonight, you did exceptionally well. I knew you would anyway."

Nagi nodded her head in thanks as she stepped closer to him. He looked down at her, as if daring her to do what was on her mind. She looked back up at him through her one eye and felt her face growing hot. She couldn't chicken out now.

At the speed of lightning, she wrapped her arms around his neck. He didn't even hesitate as his hands wound up round her waist and he pulled her closer to him. Her face was in the crook of his neck as she felt some sort of peace wash over her.

"Thank you for training me. I know how much you hate illusions."

"It's more because I hate your brother. I don't mind it as much when you use it."

Nagi chuckled before pulling away and giving him a kiss on his cheek. Her confidence had been blown sky high ever since she had started training with him and added in with her win tonight, there was just no stopping this girl. She giggled a little at him blank expression and she knew that the gears in his head were spinning rapidly and if he were someone like Tsuna, he would have been a blushing mess. Although she would have loved to see him blush, she had gotten used to what each blank expression meant. He was so cute sometimes.

"Anyway, goodnight Hibari."

"Call me Kyoya..."

Nagi raised an eyebrow and smiled. "Just not in front of the other 'herbivores', am I right?"

His lip quirked up again and Nagi knew she was right. "Well, you're not really a herbivore anymore, are you? You're more of an omnivore."

"Oh, I'm on the same level as boss now? I'm flattered."

Hibari rolled his eyes at the thought of Tsuna, though the Sawada kid did have a lot more balls now, ever since Haru came into his life. She was another enigma in itself and he wondered why she wasn't fighting or anything. Was she supposed to be some sort of extra guardian? He didn't know and right now, he didn't care. He had Nagi in front of him and that's all that mattered.

"I would say that you're stronger than him, but that Sawada always has a way of surprising me. I don't know what trick he has next in that hair of his."

Nagi burst out laughing as she could feel warmth spreading in her heart. Hibari only ever showed this side of himself to her and she couldn't help but feel a little bit special. It was so good to be wanted in this way by someone. Everything was finally looking up around here.

"Anyway, I better leave you, you're probably extremely tired. Goodnight."

Before he left, he came closer to her and put his hand behind her head as he kissed her forehead. Before she could even register what was going on, Hibari was already gone. Nagi blinked multiple times before she could hear Haru calling her from the window above.

"Nagi has been standing there for about five minutes ever since Hibari kissed your head. Come on lover girl, it's time for bed."

Nagi was pretty sure her whole body was red as she started making her way back into the house. She just smiled to herself as she thought of the skylark.

So how was that for a comeback? I hope it was okay lol. Just to clarify, even though I'm trying to follow the storyline, things are obviously different, such as Nagi not needing to have illusion organs. I wanted her to have a power like Mukuro's six paths, but something totally different that she has to cover up her eye. I thought it would be cool to give her an ability and it's basically called the power of 'nothing.' I'll explain in a later chapter in depth.

I am also aware of a few inconsistencies within my story. Because it's been so freaking long since I last updated it, I had to re-read it all to see if it's okay. It's not, but most things are minor details that need a little bit of ironing out. Apologies for that.

Please don't forget to rate or hate, flames or floods! Reviews within reason are much appreciated, thank you!
