Sam's POV
Vanessa offered to meet me in the hotel lobby that they were staying in and I was a little upset when she came by herself.
"Hey Sam, can we hurry this up because Kaiyah will be coming soon" Vanessa said as she
"Vanessa, I'm begging you please just let me see my daughter. All of this is stupid, Mercedes wouldn't hurt Kaiyah the only person that would hurt her is the man you are with."
"Sam, do you honestly think that I would let Shane hurt Kaiyah? Mercedes is such a liar. Shane would never lay a finger on that her he loves her as if she is his own. "
"Do you honestly believe any of that shit? Why would Mercedes lie about any of that? He raped her niece and he physically and mentally abused Mercedes and you still want to be with him knowing all of that?"
"Sam, who I choose to be with is none of your business."
"When it deals with the safety of my child it becomes my business, Vanessa you are so much better than this."
"He love me and he loves her. He provides for Kaiyah. He would never lay a finger on her."
"I guess that's why you left me for him right? Because you think he loves you."
"Yes Sam, you are absolutely right I left him because he showed me love that you never showed me. He provided for me and never made me lift a finger."
I was going to say something until I heard a voice
"DADDY!" Kaiyah said as she ran towards me
"Kaiyah, I missed you baby girl" I said hugging her and picking her up
"Daddy, I want to spend time with you, Ms. Mercedes, Aiden and Lyric. Ms. Mercedes told me she would help me prepare for the pageant when I come back. When can I come over again?" I looked in her big hazel eyes and just wanted to just take her home right then and there but I knew that I couldn't not now at least.
"I don't know, baby girl but I'm hoping soon really soon."
"Come on Kaiyah we got to get back to Auntie, she wants to know how practice was." Vanessa said trying to get her off of me
"Can daddy come with us?"
"No, he has someplace else to be. Come on now." She said as she finally got her off of me and they headed to the elevator. I called for Vanessa but she never turned around. I knew that I needed to get my baby girl back.
Mercedes POV
Sam just got home after hours of being gone and I missed him.
"Hey baby." I looked at him and he looked like he had been crying. "Baby, what's wrong?"
He put on a fake smile and pretended nothing was wrong
"Nothing, it has been a long day. I'm going to go take a nap."
"You sure babe?" I look at him concerned and he kiss me
"Everything is going to be okay."
Few hours later
Sam's POV
"Sam wake up" Mercedes said as she shook me
"What? Is everything ok?"
"Sam, you have guests downstairs."
I put some pants on and I headed downstairs where I saw a crying Vanessa holding Kaiyah who was also crying.
"What's going on?" I said trying to piece it all together.
"Sam," Mercedes said starting to talk for them, "look at Akaiyah's back"
I lifted up her shirt and there were bruises up her back and just looked at Vanessa
"Sam, I just found out about it when I was helping her get ready for her bath and the bruises looked fresh. He promised me he wasn't going to hurt her or me no more. He was getting help and wasn't ever going to hurt anyone ever again. I can't believe I fell for all those lies."
"Vanessa, it's not your fault you aren't the only one who has fell for his lies." Mercedes said as she hugged her
"I've had it with this guy. He has hurt literally everyone I love and I can't take it no more!" Sam said as he knocked down the vase on the fireplace "You said you had everything under control you should have left him when I told you to but you are so stubborn you always think you can handle everything but you can't now my baby got hurt because of it."
I picked up Kaiyah and just held her and rocked her.
"Vanessa, you can stay in the guest room tonight," Mercedes said, "I think it's what's best for you at least for tonight" Mercedes lead Vanessa to the guest room and I laid Kaiyah down on the bed in the kids room that we had when Kaiyah slept over.
Mercedes met me in the bedroom and she hugged me. We got into bed just stayed like that. She fell asleep and I sat there thinking of ways to kill Shane for hurting the ones that I love. I sat there think and rubbing Mercedes belly.

I just wanted to take the time to thank all of you who has sent me the well wishes on my pregnancy and I would like to let you know that I had a beautiful 8 lb 6oz baby girl (the pain was definitely worth it) her name is Anaya Noelle(Noelle because I found out I was pregnant with her around Christmas). She is a handful but she is absolute perfection and that is was I'm back for only a short amount of time. No, I'm not giving up on my story but it will be a while before I post something else.
