Chapter 8: Pain and Passion

(A/N): I'm so sorry I took so long to update. I barely had any free time during the school year so I couldn't really work on it.

Austin's POV:

I spent the whole night trying to figure out who would want to hurt Dez. So far, the only suspects I have in mind are Noah; because he wants to be with Ally and Dez didn't let him; or Dallas. I don't really have a reason for Dallas, other than the fact that he always seems to cause trouble and he could be trying to get back at Ally for not sleeping with him by hurting someone she loves. Unfortunately, I don't really have any proof so its not like I could call the cops.

I pulled the letter out from under my pillow. There's gotta be a clue here somewhere...maybe I just overlooked things? Hmmm...I haven't checked the back. I flipped the letter over and examined it carefully. Nothing.

I suddenly just noticed a familiar odor. What smells like marijuana? I sniffed at my hand. Is it me? How it that possible, I don't even do drugs.

I slipped the letter back under the pillow and went outside for some fresh air. Even then I still smelled like marijuana. Suddenly I started to feel tired and needed to sit down so I went back inside. I sat on the couch and must've fell asleep because when I opened my eyes, I saw Ally staring at me with a worried expression.

"Austin...what happened?"

"I guess I fell asleep."

"What's this?" She picked up the letter covered in blood. Her eyes carefully scanned the letter, taking in one word at a time.

"Just a letter I found."

"Where did you find it?" She eyed me suspiciously.

"Uh..nowhere." I tried to think of a new topic. "Wanna go for a walk?"

"No. There's something you're not telling me. If you're in some kind of trouble then you better tell me now. I don't wanna find out later that you're wanted for murder or something!"

"Ally I'm not in any trouble." Should I tell her about it already? She kinda deserves to know. "Well...Ally. Actually I found this at the crime scene. It was to Dez."

"You don't know that! You have no proof! It could just be a car crash!"

"Then where are the bodies?"

"I don't know. Maybe they walked to a hospital or got a ride from someone after the crash."

"Ally. Don't you think he would've called to tell you what happened?"

"Yeah, but..."

"Ally I know you're scared but we don't know what happened for sure and trying to come up with scenarios isn't going to help us. It's gonna make you more worried about him."

"I know." She stretched out on the couch and turned on the T.V.

The news was on. "There has been a car accident on Sugarcreek Road involving a red Mercedes and a silver Honda. As you can see this road will be blocked until the area is investigated and cleaned up." A dark-skinned woman with short hair reported.

I turned off the T.V. Ally didn't need to see this now. Ally grabbed the remote out of my hand. "I need to see this."

I didn't stop her.

The T.V screen lit up and the same woman from before was still speaking. "This just in! A body has been found at Sugarcreek Road." The screen zoomed in a little and you could just make out a badly burnt body with ashes flaking off of it. It looked so fragile and if you touched it, I bet it would blow away in the wind.

Ally's eyes were glued to the screen. She didn't move. We were both thinking the same thing.

"The body has just been identified as Dez Dawson. According to the police, he was in the accident that happened here. It is said by investigators that when the car exploded, his body started on fire with the car and landed over in the bushes from the impact of the other car."

I shut off the T.V and I wasn't letting Ally turn it back on. And she didn't. She just sat there, staring at the T.V as if it was still on. The corners of her mouth were turned down and she didn't speak. Not a word.

I had no idea what to do. Should I comfort her? Hug her? Give her space? I just sat with her and stared at the T.V.

I was really sad about Dez but I didn't want to cry in front of Ally. She needed me to be strong for her. She needed me to be there for her.

After about an hour, I got up from the couch. "Ally...I'm sorry."

She didn't answer.

"He was a great brother and friend. I'll really miss him."

Still no answer.

"Well...you really should eat something."

Silence.

I came up from behind her and wrapped my arms around her. She didn't react at all. "Ally..."

I came around to face her. Tears cascaded down her cheeks, dripping on her legs. She reached for a tissue, but I reached for it too. Our hands brushed against each other and she gripped my fingers tightly. I didn't want to let go.

She unwound her fingers from mine and let me wipe away her tears. She slowly ran her fingertips up my arm, sending a tingly feeling throughout my entire body. She looked me in the eyes for a split second but I understood her invitation to move closer. I slid closer to her and she lightly brushed her leg against mine. Her eyes were locked on mine now, waiting. I ran my hand down her spine and grabbed the back of her shirt, pulling her closer to me. Our bodies collided into one; it's like I finally found the missing puzzle piece. I pushed up against her harder. A small breath escaped her parted lips but she didn't try to escape, she held on tighter. She clasped her hands around my neck, ensuring I would stay like this with her.

I gave her small kisses on the cheek, moving closer and closer until I reached my final destination. Her lips slid open, letting my tongue inside. My mouth exploded with a feeling I've never felt before. My body went numb as I relaxed into her, daring her to push further. I lay back on the couch as her shape fell into me once again. She kissed me harder, each one more fiery and passionate that the first. Her hands grabbed my hair pulling it and causing my breathing to quicken. The room swam out of focus and the colors blurred together. I couldn't think. I was slowly losing consciousness. It felt like this was the first time I was truly alive. She ran her hands across my chest, feeling my heartbeat. Our hearts thrummed together, creating the perfect melody that only we could hear.

She pulled away from me and straightened up in her previous position on the couch. I mirrored her actions, moving in the opposite direction. I was exhilarated from the moment we shared but something about it still left me wanting more.

I've never had a kiss like that before. It was better than I had hoped for.

There was a knock at the door. Ally went to answer it. It was Trish and I could tell that she saw the news. "Oh Ally..." She gave her a hug; Ally buried her head into Trish's shoulder and cried.

"I'm here for you girl. Why don't we do something to take your mind of this?"

Ally nodded and grabbed her purse from the coffee table. I watched out the window as they left, asking myself if kissing Ally was the right thing to do.

I slumped back on the couch, ran my hands down my face and sighed. It seems like everytime I get closer to her I do something to screw things up!

(A/N): Tell me what you think of the kissing scene. Was it too much, too little? I've never written a kissing scene before so I'm not sure if it was good.
