Severus Snape

Child of shadow;

Surrounding yourself with an

Opaque veil of darkness.

Your black curtains:

Your eyes that seek to hide

All vulnerability

And yet are what reveal it most.

The scars of the cruciatus which

Cross your chest.

The pain and sorrow which

Hide within your eyes of

A love lost.

All seek to hide yourself

Through portraying coldness and anger

That instills fear.

But you have failed Severus.

I can see you.

You can't hide from me.

You've never realized

How far 'know-it-all'extends.

In every harsh word I hear fear

And in every dark glance I see pain.

One day when I have left this place, I will return;

A girl shall leave to return a woman

And I will strip away

Your mask of tyranny

Which you have held for so long

And which has so fooled everyone.

Even yourself.

But not me.

I will smother all your pain

With a love you have never known

And can scarcely imagine.

That's a promise.

Have faith in this,

as you have never felt able to do so in anything else before.

'Til then…
