*grunt* "Almost, Spongebob..."
*grunt* "Done!"
Sandy was pushing my old bed into the pool. Watching it slowly go down…
She was trying to comfort me. The pool now looked a lot like my old house, and Gary even got his own little spot. I loved it. Sure, it was no pineapple, but I no longer need my helmet in here. Also, Sandy spent most of last night finding the furniture, and she'll karate the teeth out of me if I leave. She even found this little inflatable chair that she would sit on, like she did now. I had my feet in the pool when she brought it up again. The whole JOB thing.
"I don't know. I've tried working elsewhere, but all I can make is… patties." It's been like that for years (Even pre-season), and it will always be like that.
"Spongebob, there are multiple patty places in Bikini Bottom. How about that one stand you opened up?" Sandy asked.
"The pretty one or the flabby one? Because I saw how those turned out." What could I say, I would've been there if I still did. "The first one gave people some… erm… side effects, and the latter one? I don't have the money for that. Sandy, I like how you've helped me, but this here pool? This is all I'm really asking for." I still feel so guilty about this.
"So, no more acorn tea?" She asked me.
"Oh, you!" I love that tea. It is actually pretty sweet.
"Anyway, it's not like you have to become the next Gill Baits and run your own billion-dollar garage franchise. Work somewhere. How about that Fancy restaurant?" She asked.
"That place? Ugh, that one's disgusting." Believe me, I've been there.
"Umm… any ones downtown?" For the first time (in forever) in a while, I saw her struggling. She knew I wouldn't belong on most of these scenes, and there really was no choice.
Right?
No…
There was a…
A…
Choice.
"You have to go there!" She told me. I knew. I knew. I tried to back away, but I had to, but she forced me to do it.
I had no choice.
It started to rain outside as I left. The thunder, ever so symbolic, crosses me as I passed by.
Then I saw it.
The Chum Bucket.
