"Are you sure this is the one?"

"I'm sure. I've read their files, read the reports, and observed the way they are in person… If there's anyone he has a soft spot for, it's her." The other man explained from the opposite side of the bed, looking down to the new arrival.

"And the blood?"

With an agitated sigh, he shifted his weight and reached up to absentmindedly fiddle with the small space in his lobe, "Agent Barton destroyed the samples while I was moving her."

"I can work around it." He flipped through the file in his hands quickly, "It will take some time, but I'm sure I can break and remake her mind to do what we need. I will make her strong and you will train her. Our deal still stands, correct?"

"Yes, we'll let you try your way first. If you fail, then it's in our hands."

"There will be no need to worry if you were careful getting her out of that hospital."

The frost seemed to make its way back into his tone at the implication, "Of course, she's still alive, isn't she? I knew exactly what I was giving her."

"Did Banner see anything?"

"No, he was too upset to check the body. Anything I gave her was done out of his sight."

"Good." With a smile, he turned and began to take his leave, "Wake her up and we'll begin."

AN: So this one was super short, sorry about that. On the plus side, I've finished the first chapter for the sequel so it will be up momentary. Warning, the first chapter for that is short too so double sorry. Thank you so much for reading my first fan fiction ever, I hope you've enjoyed it so far and stay tuned for Resilience.
