Disclamer: I do not own Portal, Portal 2, Chell, GLaDOS, Wheatley, Announcer, Aperture Science, any of its equipment, other characters, setting, or test chambers.
Edit: Okay, this might not be the exact copy, I made a few adjustments based on reviews I had previously gotten, and overall I think it's a better copy. Also, prepare for a part two soon!
I blink my optic and shudder. I can hear a voice, but it's not very clear. Machinery is rebuilding itself, wires reconnecting.
"Power-up complete." the announcer broadcasts.
"Hello!" I hear a peppy, English-accented voice call out nervously. I look down, confused for a moment, and see. . . her. "Oh. It's you."
"You KNOW her?" the voice, a core, asks her. Both of us ignoring him, a staredown between the two of us shows me the biggest combination of emotions I've ever seen on a human's face cloud her features.
"It's been a long time. How have you been?"
Her glare deepens.
"I've been really busy being dead. You know, after you MURDERED me." "You did WHAT?" the core shouts. Lowering 2 Aperture Science Grappling Devices, I grab them both, the core shouting "No!" all the way.
I tighten Aperture Science Grappling Device No.1, and sparks fly out of his optic. Her eyes widen, and she struggles to get to him, presumably to escape. "Okay, look," I begin. "We both said a lot of things you're going to regret."
I crush the little core, throwing the mangled piece of metal away, not taking my optic off of her. Her mouth opens and she reaches out to him, but it's too late for that. "But I think we can put our diffrences behind us. For science. You monster."
As I say this , I'm thinking about my black-box quick save feature. The program that forced me to relive, remember, and remind me of my greatest failure. My biggest mess-up. While she's moving to the incinerator, I can almost see tears in her eyes. Almost. She's determined to keep her emotions as hidden as possible from me.
"I wil say though, since you went to all the trouble of waking me up, you must really, really love to test." She stiffens and clenches her fists. "I love it too. There's just one small thing we need to take care of first."
I drop her into the incinerator like she did me and watch her fall into the darkness.
