The Beginning:

Chapter 5

"Sparks you wouldn't last a day as leader," Nova said flat out to her quarreling companion.

He straightened up, put his hands on his hips, and puffed out his metallic chest. "I think I'd make a great leader."
"Your ego would fill up the whole robot, and we'd have to move out," the female member teased.

"Now, now you two. We all know Sparks isn't intelligently equipped for the position as leader," Gibson stated.

"'Intelligently equipped!?' All the brains in the world wouldn't make you a great leader!" Sparks threw back at Gibson.

"Why you-!" Gibson mumbled as he and the red monkey banged heads.

"Chiro is as important to the team as is every one of us. He is destined to lead us, I can sense it, and the power primate is strong within him. But until he can unleash it, he is vulnerable to Skeleton King." Antauri explained.

"You sure he'll be alright walking home by himself?" Otto asked with concern for his new friend.

"I don't believe Skeleton King knows about Chiro, but maybe we should escort him home to be on the safe side" Antauri pondered.
Sparks grabbed a piece of the robot's wall, and with the help of his magnetic ability, lifted the hunk of metal up. "I'm sure he'll be okay, and we need to fix the robot before anymore goons show up."
Otto looked down then turned to the sheet of metal and started hammering it to the wall.

The television-like monster stared past Chiro looking where he had come from. It was about to take a step when the machine noticed someone was in its way. It raised its arm and brought it down in a sweeping-like motion hitting Chiro's side and tossing him out of the way. After the strike the robot continued to head towards its target.

"He's headed towards the Super Robot!" Chiro said to himself as he got up from the ground. "I need to warn them, but there isn't enough time!" He remembered the screen in the robot displaying the monkeys' icons and the red dots showing where the formless were. "Maybe I can stall it until they fix the robot and notice something's wrong." He gathered up his courage. I can't keep running away from everything, I need to stay and help them! I can do this; I just need to stall him for a little while. Okay, just pretend you're Johnny Sunspot, like in episode 14.

"Hey Ugly!" Chiro shouted at the antennaed machine.

It turned partially around to face him.

Unable to think of anything else to say Chiro just yelled out first thing that came to his head, "Leave them alone!"

The robot paused for a moment then turned back around and continued on its way.

"Hey I'm talking to you!" he said annoyed the robot brushed him of so quickly. "Argh!" He tightened his hand into a fist and could feel a rush of energy flow to it. In a fury he ran up to the machine and mindlessly threw a punch at it. When his hand made a connection to the metal of the machine, lightning sparked out and left a dent slightly bigger than his fist. The machine hastily turned around as Chiro kicked off the robot and landed away from it. The screen started to flicker, but Chiro could still see the skeleton's furious face.

"Do not pester me, boy," the skeleton on the screen warned. The screen flickered again, but his expression was still the same.

This is good, He coaxed himself, now I've got his attention. "Turn around and return to where you came from, or be prepared!" He said quoting a line from his favorite series.

The Skeleton King laughed as his robot flung himself over to the boy and lifted him up by the collar before he had a chance to react. "Weak and inexperienced. You are nothing but a speck of dust to me." He threw the boy at the ground and he skidded to a halt a few feet away.

Chiro rubbed his aching head and turned over to see the robot pointing its right hand at him. He gasped as the arm opened up like a craw revealing a laser charging up to be fired.

"You should not have interfered with me."

Chiro's horrified face turned to one of confidence. "Then I wouldn't have been such a great distraction," he smirked as he glanced behind the skeleton's vessel.

"What!?" He yelled as he turned around to face five monkeys all holding up their weapons to face him.

"Skeleton King." The black monkey said greeting the foe.

The voice from the robot scowled in frustration. "This isn't over. I will be back, and Shuggazoom will then be mine!" He yelled in anger as the robot flew up in the sky and darted away.

Sparx shot at him a few times, but stopped when the robot was out of reach.

"Chiro are you hurt?" Antauri asked.

Otto offered him a hand, and lifted him onto his feet. "I'm fine, but I'm just glad you guys could make it in time," he stated in relief.

"It was rather peculiar. The computer couldn't even recognize a threat outside until an unknown source of energy spiked and revealed his location." Gibson stated.

"In any case, we are glad that you are safe." Antauri said with a smile.

"Yeah, and your parents must be worried sick by now." Sparks said with his hands behind his head looking at the last bit of sun fall down below the horizon.

Chiro looked down to the ground with a bit of sadness and embarrassment. "It's ok I don't have any."

"No parents!?" Otto screeched. "But everyone's got parents!"

"Otto, WE don't have parents," Gibson pointed out to his brother.

"Oh yeah…"

"Antauri we can't just leave him by himself, what if Skeleton King come back?" Nova said, "can't he spend the night at the Super Robot?"

Antauri put his hand on his chin and thought for a moment.

"Yes! It'll be just like a sleepover!" Otto cheered.

"I hope by 'sleepover' you mean fix the Super Robot because that's exactly what we will be doing," said Gibson.

"Aww. I wanted to tell scary ghost stories and have pillow fights."

"Where would he even stay?" Sparx asked the group.

"Are you forgetting that we have an extra bedroom open?" Nova said.

Antauri nodded. "I feel it is in best interest if Chiro stayed the night at the Super Robot. Then we can start off tomorrow and answer any questions you might have."

"Sweet!" Chiro said in excitement as he followed them back into the robot. "…I've never been to a sleepover before though," he mentioned to Otto before walking in.

"It's okay. I haven't either."
