A/N: I hope I am forgiven for being away *blushes*. It's hard with exams, to be honest. I can't write and when I have time to write, I can't even find anything to write! I'm glad I even got inspiration for this, to be honest. I'm completely sick and I feel like I'm about to pass out. Omg. Send the sick girl a review? Pretty please? *puppy-dog eyes*

Dragons or My Love?

Chapter 9

Blaire:

Charlie Weasley looked at her with curiosity etched into his features and she couldn't believe that how incredibly handsome he looked. He had always looked handsome but something about this moment made him seem all the more handsome. It was as if the pure look of curiosity made him brighter, all the more beautiful. Blaire didn't understand how she'd gotten lucky enough to even be near the guy, let alone getting the honour to talk to him.

Blaire thought for a moment, biting her lip as she came across a funny thought. "Hmm, I'm not sure," she answered before she questioned, "Dancing?" She thought of how ridiculous Charlie would look and it almost made her want to burst out laughing. She licked her lips in thought, "Or maybe something else. I don't know. I'll figure it out when the night comes," she said with a smile. She really didn't need to work it out at this very moment.

Would it really matter if she just didn't know? Sometimes it's better to wing it. It's always a whole lot more fun that way, to be honest. It was better when you didn't plan something, it was always more entertaining that way. She had learned long ago that even when you made plans, they were rarely ever followed. It was simply better to take it one-step-at-a-time.

"Later, we can work out all the details," she decided with a nod. She could make some plans for the night tonight back in her dorm room. She just hopes her dorm mates were going to pester her about it. She talked to her dorm mates but it wasn't like they were all buddy-buddy. It was just her and Johanna. Who she did share the dorm with but she was the only one she liked and got along really well with. It had been that way for six years, who's to say it'll change now?

It wasn't likely.

They got along like a house on fire, nobody could deny it. They were joined at the hip most of the time, except when Johanna was out on a date. She was hell-bent on getting Jaxon though which will probably be the only guy who would sell a limb to go on a date with her. Not that Johanna encouraged such behaviour, she just…really liked Jaxon.

When the hell was he going to make a proper move?

Blaire sighed, it really wasn't her business. She smiled over at Charlie. She'll focus on the present and a little more about Charlie and her, instead of her friend and her own guy problems. "I promise you, though," she began, "You will have lodes of fun and if you don't, well, I'll make it up to you but really you will. Mark my words, Weasley," she said with a slight smirk.

Charlie only smiled back in this dazzling way that made Blaire weak at the knees. "Thank you, Blaire," he said, warmly. "This is truly nice of you," he added. Blaire flushed and shrugged, as if to say 'it was nothing'. She felt her palms get sweaty and the butterflies in her tummy erupted and began to dance. The bees in her head made her feel light-headed.

As if on impulse, Charlie pulled Blaire close as she barely got out her sentence, "Don't mention it Char-" because he was too busy doing something completely surprising. He was too busy blowing her away to care about whether she was waving off his gratitude or not. He was going to show her and that's exactly what he did.

He just went out and kissed her on the lips.

He couldn't be happier that he grew a pair and asked her to go to Hogsmeade with him today. She was kind, cute, funny and really clever. She laughed at his jokes because she thought he was funny, cute and smart as well.

This was completely and utterly rare and Charlie was going to hold on to this moment for years to come. He believed it was rare, whether Blaire did or not, was a mystery.

Plus, she was right.

Some fresh air was long overdue.

The moment they pulled away, Blaire pouted. "You cut me off midsentence," she said, "and it sounded as if I didn't even say your name right," she shook her head, amused. She shrugged a few seconds later though, "But I don't mind if you don't mind that you name sounded like I was saying 'chair' instead of 'Charlie'," she chuckled at her own joke which was funny to her but Charlie wasn't chuckling in return because of her joke.

He shook his head, "It's okay because I don't really mind. Though, it actually sounded like Char, not 'chair'," he said with a teasing smile. "Sort of like Char-boiled, and it's completely fine," he said. He smiled and Blaire wondered if his face would split with the amount of times he smiled today. He looked down at her and his eyes sparkled which made her flush. He grinned and leaned down to kiss her just as she began to talk once more.

"Same thing, Potat-"

They kissed for a few moments before they pulled away for air. Blaire shrugged with a small smile. She didn't really mind being cut off, once more. But maybe that was because he was kissing her. Who could really complain when the most beautiful man she had ever seen was brushing his lips against hers? She wasn't usually one to complain and she wasn't going to start now.

Though, why did he always seem to like wanting to cut her off? Is he just eager to kiss her or is she really boring him a tad? Unless he just wanted to kiss her for the sake of it. What was it really? Oh well, did it even matter? Blaire realised in that moment, that it just didn't. She smiled, shrugging.

She felt content. If she were to die now, she'd die one hell of a happy girl.

If Charlie were to cut her off with kisses more often, she wouldn't care because as long as their lips were touching, what was there to care about? Though she wouldn't dare to kiss him in public, despite how embarrassing it would be and how shy she really was on the inside, her best frined would probably kill her for not telling her the truth. She felt bad that Johanna didn't know she liked – loved – Charlie Weasley. But she was still denying it for all this time and by telling somebody would only make it real.

Now, she was in a whole new world of trouble for it.

She'd be addressing him 'Charlie' instead of Weasley now. The school would think this was an overnight thing. How was she to even explain it all, if she couldn't even understand it very much?

"Sorry," he said with a chuckle, "I keep cutting you off," he said. He smirked, "Oh and it's Char. One is calling me chair and the other is a nickname. Big difference," he pointed out. "Big different, oh please. Oh well, maybe I can call you 'chair' often so by the time we're thirty, you'll notice the difference is slim," she smirked. Even though she knew calling him chair every day would cause her to erupt into a fit of giggles.

"Please don't call me 'chair'," he pleaded. Blaire giggled, "Fine, I won't call you chair but I still think the difference is slim. Like poh-tay-toe - poh-tah-toe," she insisted.

Blaire nearly forgot about that. She looked up at the sky and frowned.

"Did you know that it is almost dinner time, Char?"

"Dinner," he asked alarmed and Blaire giggled. "Maybe that's why I'm starving and I'm too polite to stop you," she teased.

"Come on then, let's get you to the Great Hall for dinner," he said. "Do you want to sit by me," he asked. He wrapped his arm around her waist and she jumped a little. She hadn't been expecting that one at all. Blaire shook her head, "Do you remember Johanna? My best friend?" At Charlie's confused nod, she continued. "She doesn't know I fancy you, much less about today at all. She'd probably kill me."

Blaire tried to smile but it came out more of a grimace. "If we sit together," she continued, "I'm not really ready to be injured before I go to bed tonight," she finished, honestly. She didn't really fancy a black eye today. Charlie chuckled, he leaned towards her ear. His breath was warm on the side of her neck and she flushed. "I'll protect you, don't worry," he said, softly in her ear. He pecked her ear and she shuddered.

"I'm not really scared of anything," he said, leaning a bit back. "After growing up with Fred and George," he trailed off, chuckling. "Okay, you can protect me, my Knight in Shining Armour," Blaire said. Charlie smiled before looking ahead as they walked into the castle.

All in all, it wasn't actually a bad day. It turned out to be a really, good day today.

"And if you want, if you asks, I could say we are just friends," Charlie offered, shrugging. Blaire felt her heart fall to the pit of her stomach. What even are they? Will they forever be 'just friends'?

"But whatever you want," Charlie said with a soft smile. Blaire didn't really want to but she guesses this is the only way. Johanna would murder her on a stake if she knew and Blaire fancied being alive a little more than going public with whatever…this was.

"If you don't mind acting like we're friends for a few days…and then we can just say we started to like each other," she shrugged. It was plausible but could they do that?

Charlie nodded as if he accepted that which she secretly hoped he hadn't.

He pulled his arm from around her waist and she instantly felt cold. She frowned but she wasn't sure Charlie saw it. "Sure," he said, "If that's what you want, love," he said, chuckling slightly. "Okay, let me re-say that, please. Whatever you want, Blaire," he smiled. He stuck his hands in his pockets as he looked around. He looked around a lot, Blaire mused.

And she found that she didn't even mind it one bit at all.

"So how long is a few days," he asked, curiously and Blaire wasn't sure if he wanted it to sound casual or if he really was being casual about it. Blaire's frown deepened and she felt like she was slowly dwindling down a road of sadness. She felt as if she was walking into a tunnel that was extremely dark with no light until it suddenly brightened up and the tunnel had a light at the end, just by the words that flew out of his mouth next.

"And we only have to act like friends in public, right?"
