Regina Mills shouldn't have cared at all.

No.

It should not have bothered her that Emma Swan was crying. She should not have stopped to look through the window of Granny's at the red-faced blonde as she sloppily sipped on a mug of hot chocolate. She also shouldn't have turned around and paused at the door to the familiar diner. Going into the diner was a even worse idea, even if she told herself it was just to order a to-go cup of coffee before she finished her walk home from work. She definitely should not have sat down across from the upset woman. She really shouldn't have silently placed her own hand over the crying woman's, or look into her tear-streaked face, or pull her from the table and back out the door. She absolutely should not have taken her home.

The next morning, as she woke next to a naked Emma Swan, completely contented, she told herself that she was really glad she did.
