The next morning Harry woke up and looked around at his new dorm room. He hadn't really been able to getting a good look last night as he had been just too tired after all the excitement of the Sorting and Welcome Feast. The room had five canopy single sized beds spaced evenly throughout the room. A wardrobe and desk were placed with each bed as well. The curtains for the beds were an emerald green with matching bedding. Climbing out of bed he quickly grabbed clothing for the day and headed into the washroom to wash and dress.

As he exited the washroom he noticed that Draco and another boy in the dorm, Theodore Nott, were just starting to stir as well. The other two boys that shared the dorm, Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle, were still snoring away in their beds. Harry nodded to Theo and Draco before grabbing his bag and books and heading out to the Great Hall for breakfast. As he passed through the common room Blaise came from the girl's dorms. The two left the common room and started up from the dungeons.

"Morning Harry" Blaise yawned slightly, not feeling very talkative so early in the morning.

"Morning Blaise" Harry grinned.

They both sat at the Slytherin table and started serving themselves breakfast. They were soon joined by Draco, Theo and Pansy, who frowned at Harry before sitting as far from the former Gryffindor as possible. Theo joined her but Draco sat across from Blaise and Harry.

"Good morning!" Draco almost sang "I trust you both slept well."

Blaise just grunted at the cheerful greeting before going back to her tea. Harry raised an eyebrow and nodded, "I did. I gather that you did as well?"

Draco nodded as he served himself breakfast and started eating.

Up at the head table Dumbledore watched Harry interact with the other Slytherins, frowning. This was not how things were supposed to work out. He was still trying to figure out how and why Harry had been re-sorted, never mind how he ended up in Slytherin. Dumbledore had tried asking the sorting hat the night before but the headwear was surprisingly silent on the subject. He also hadn't failed to notice that the famous scar was missing from the Boy-Who-Lived's forehead. This was rather concerning for the Headmaster. If Harry Potter wasn't marked by the Dark Lord anymore who was the child of the prophecy?

Dumbledore mulled over all of this as he watched Ron Weasley walked into the Hall and sent a sneer at the Slytherin table in general and Harry in particular. That in and of itself was troubling as Ron was his spy into all that Harry was up to. It was his way of making sure that Harry was kept on the side of the 'Greater Good'. Without that influence the Headmaster was worried that Harry would become a strong and independent young man who wouldn't be willing to follow the prophecy. He had also heard from Minerva that Harry had dropped Divination for Arthimacy. That just wouldn't do but there wasn't much he could do at the moment as it had already been approved by his teachers and Minerva. Maybe he could speak to Severus, as the boy's new Head of House the Potion Master would be able to overturn that decision.

Severus Snape was stuck in a dilemma. After the events at the end of the previous school year he had seen a different side of Harry Potter. However even with the amnesia that the boy was suffering from it was still hard for him to get past the previous 3 years of issues that he had had with the boy, never mind the fact that Potter reminded Severus of James. And now Mr. Potter was a part of his own house.

As he ate his own breakfast he observed how Harry was fitting in to his new House. The young man seemed to be mostly fitting in. Draco was being his usual perky self which made the Potion Master smile. His godson was very much a morning person and Potter was bearing the brunt of the blonde's hyperactivity. It bode well for Harry's future in the Snake Pit that he was interacting with his fellow snakes, but then he had no memory of the rivalry between Gryffindor and Slytherin.

After finishing his breakfast he stood and gathered the schedules for his House. Stepping down from the head table he started walking down along the Slytherin table and handed out the timetables. Occasionally he stopped and had a quiet word with a student about their classes or schedule. Reaching the end of the table he handed Draco and Blaise their schedules before handing Harry his.

"The changes that you made to your electives over the summer have been approved, but you will need to speak to Professor Vector for her to judge your level before you are let into the class."

Harry nodded nervously and took his schedule from his professor. "Thank you Professor Snape."

Severus simply handed over the schedule and headed off towards the dungeons to prepare for his first class.

Harry glanced over his timetable while Blaise and Draco finished eating. They had a double period History of Magic first thing.

"Looks like it is going to be a slow morning." He commented dryly. History was not his favorite subject, all those dates and names were just boring to him. Draco just grinned as he finished off his fruit salad.

"Binns should have passed on decades ago." Blaise observed as she stood to head out. Harry stood as well and gathered his bag.

"Why hasn't he then?" He asked, wondering if Professor Binns was a ghost with the way that Blaise spoke about him.

The girl shrugged her shoulders and started to head out, Draco hurrying up to catch up to the pair. " I can't say, no one has thought to ask him."

Harry looked thoughtful as they walked through the halls to their first class.

Reaching the classroom the snakes entered and took their seats. Just as the bell rang through the school to announce the start of the first period Binns floated through the chalkboard at the front of the room, Harry barely managed to suppress a gasp of surprise at the entrance. The ghostly professor glanced around the room and did roll, pausing when he reached Harry's name.

"Porter, shouldn't you be with the Gryffindors?" He asked, surprised.

Harry shook his head and pointed out the Slytherin crest and colors on his school uniform. "No sir, I was re-sorted last night at the Welcoming Feast."

Professor Binns simply nodded and continued on with the roll. Once done he immediately launched into his lecture about the goblin uprisings. Harry tried to listen but the teacher's voice was just too boring. So he pulled out his text book and started reading. As the bell rang to signal the end of the first period, Binns paused to let the students stand and stretch for the 15 minute break. Harry stood up and made his way up to the front, several questions tumbling through his mind.

"Professor, I have a few questions about you and the lecture."

Binns looked taken aback, no one in the past 2 centuries had bothered to question him. "Of course Porter, what would you like to know?"

Harry frowned for a moment. "Isn't the 4th year curriculum supposed to be about the original discovery and cooperation with the elves that became the House Elves?"

Binns furrowed his brow, "4th year? But I thought this was a 2nd year class?"

Harry shook his head. "No, This class is 4th year. What year do you think it is?"

"1754, why?"

Harry started at this, "Professor, this is 1994. Did you know you were dead sir?"

Binns shook his ghostly head and look puzzled, "If I am dead why am I still teaching?"

Harry didn't have an answer for the man and simply watched as the ghost worked things out for himself. Just then the bell rang to signal the start of the new period. Harry moved back to his seat, a rather pensive look on his face, and sat down. Binns was still floating in shock at the information he had received at the front of the room. Suddenly without warning a bright light seemed to emanate from the ghostly professor and, as it blinded the class, he just disappeared. The Slytherins looked at one another in surprise. Where had Professor Binns gone? Pansy stood up, looking excited, and said out loud. "Merlin's beard! Binns is gone!"

With that the entire class let out a cheer and gathered their supplies. Theo stopped for a minute and said quietly, "Shouldn't we tell the Headmaster? Or at least Professor Snape?"

Harry, being one of the few to hear Theo, nodded. "We have potions after lunch, we can tell him then." Theo nodded and the students left the classroom and headed for their common room, it looked like they had a free period until lunch now.
