Me: No the title is not a joke. Usually I end my stories by the 30th chapter but I feel like you guys have waited more than long enough. I want to thank you for your support and I hope you enjoy the last chapter of New Problems.

"Oh my god, you all look so beautiful. Deuce, you're so handsome in your little suit." Jenna said, patting my dress pants.

"Thanks Jenna." I said, resisting the urge to move away from her fussing hands.

"Deuce, blue or pink." CeCe said holding up two eyeshadows.

"I don't know. Your dress is blue, so blue?"

"Hmm, maybe. That might be over doing it though."

"When's Gunther getting here?" Rocky asked from her place on the couch.

I swallowed uneasily. I had decided that this was the last night we'd spend together before I break up him but the thought of actually doing it was causing me a lot of anxiety. I wanted to it before the dance but I kept putting it off, plus breaking up before the homecoming dance after he asked me in such a huge way would be cruel. Ugh but so is leading him on.

"Deuce?" Rocky asked again.

"Oh, uh he'll be here in twenty minutes."

"Really? Crap I better go finish my makeup." CeCe said before running to the bathroom.

"I'll help you dear." Jenna said following despite my uncle's protest.

I looked around at everyone in the room and noticed that Ty wasn't here yet. I wonder if he's even going with us in the limo. He and Gunther still don't get along very well, so he might not. I guess I'll know if Tinka shows up with Gunther.

About twenty minutes later a loud ring ran through the house. I got up and opened the door to see Gunther standing there in a blue and black suit. He remembered my favorite colors.

"These are for you." He said, handing me a small bundle of roses. Everyone behind me let out a collective 'Awww' as I took the flowers and set them on the table. "You ready to go?"

"Yeah, let me just grab CeCe, she's still in the bathroom with my Aunt."

We arrived at the school after a pretty fun ride. The limo was very nice and CeCe just kept everyone laughing and laughing although Monroe didn't seem to like her loudness much when we picked him up. Gunther and I sat together as expected, but I tried to make sure he didn't get to close to me. I didn't want tomorrow to be too big a shock to him.

The dance was being held at this huge sky top club downtown. It was really fancy looking but as we entered the ballroom, I couldn't help myself from immediately searching for Ty. Rocky had informed me on the ride here that he and Tinka decide to go alone. I kept looking around before a hand grabbed mine and pulled me into an embrace.

Gunther smiled at me before planting a kiss on my cheek.

"Let's go say hey to some of my friends." He said before heading in their direction, my hand still in his.

We walked over to all the popular kids, sitting at the same table together. They smiled and waved as we approached them, the girls giving us hugs while the guys fist bumped our hands before we took a seat.

"You two look so cute together!" One of the girls said. Gunther laughed and pulled me closer to him.

"We do, don't we." He said, kissing my cheek once agian. I tried to smile a little before putting a little distance between us.

"Aww, gross dude." One of them said, pushing him jokingly.

We stayed there talking for a while with his friends. They made jokes and laughed at each other while I sat down eating my food from the buffet table. It was pretty good, but I knew Gunther could tell I wasn't interacting with them, or at least trying to on purpose. I wanted to, but it felt wrong to try and keep a conversation with them going when I knew I was going to break up with him tomorrow.

"Oh hey, isn't that Ty. Yo Ty!" One of them yelled after a while.

Both Gunther and I turned in the direction the other boy was yelling.

Ty… Ty was beautiful. The streaming lights beamed across the room in shades of dark and light blue. Sliver confetti fell slowly onto the floor around him as if to highlight the color of his suit. His smile as he walked down the steps seemed to liven the entire dance as people kept coming up to him to say hello. I found myself unable to breath for a brief second.

"Woah." I whispered. Crap, wait focus on Gunther.

I turned to see the blondes face unfazed. Good, he didn't see me go all crazy for Ty.

"Should we go say hi?" he asked. "I mean, he is with my sister."

Oh right, how could I not notice her hanging onto his arm? She was very attractive looking as well, just not to me. Her hair was up in some kind of bun that completed her white and silver skin tight dress.

"Sure, why not." I said heading to them. "Hey guys. You look great Tinka."

She rolled her eyes but smiled anyway.

"I know darling, I know." I laughed at that.

"How's your boyfriend treating you?" Gunther said motioning to Ty. Ty smiled back.

"About that-"

"Hey we should go dance!" Gunther said, cutting him as pulled me towards the dance floor. Tinka and Ty looked at him in confusion at the sudden outburst.

"Wh- already?" I asked Gunther as he smiled at me.

"Yeah, can't let this dance go to waste. It's not every day I have such a handsome guy as my date."

God was he making this hard.

Gunther released my hand as the song playing got to a part that was more danceable. His eyes locked with mine as he started rolling his body in ways that I didn't know a man could do.

"Come on, dance with me babe." He said, putting my hands on hips.

"Boys, little too sexual. Calm it down." A chaperone said as they walked by us.

Gunther rolled his eyes and continued to roll his body on me in tune with music.

"I had no idea you could dance."

"There's a lot you don't know about me." He spun me around and continued to rock his body against mine.

"G-gunther…" I said, a bit nervous. I was never much of a dancer, plus a lot of people were watching us.

"Shh- just let me have this." He whispered.

Let him have this? What does he mean by that?

I decided to relax and let him feel my body, his hands gripping the outside of my dress shirt. He ran them up and down my chest slowly as one of his hands found my nipple. I jerked in surprise at the sudden pinch he gave it.

"Gunther!" I said pulling away from him. He frowned and I noticed the stares people were giving both of us. I could tell he was a little ashamed at his actions as he held his head down, staring at the ground.

I grabbed his hand and pulled him off the dance floor towards the boy's bathroom. He stayed silent as we entered the room and waited for the guy next to the sink to leave. As the boy exited the room I checked to make sure the stalls were and empty before turning back towards Gunther.

"What was all that?"

He stayed silent, eyes still toward the ground.

"Gunther?" I asked again.

The blonde made his hands into fist, his skin turning pink as a small amount of sweat appeared on his fore head.

"Gun-"

"You're pushing me away." He whispered, finally.

"What?"

"You're pushing me away!" He yelled. I took a step back, Gunther had never yelled at me like that before. I wasn't sure what to back.

"I-I, no I'm not."

"Yes you are! You've been doing this for weeks! But the fucked up part is I don't even know why. I've done everything right. I treat you the way you're supposed to be treated. I text you every day, I take you on dates, fuck I even told you I love you! Why are you doing this? Why did you lead me on all this time if you knew you couldn't love me back?!"

"I-…I don't know." I said, falling against the wall.

"Why? Why Deuce? I love you. Don't you get that? I don't know what I doing wrong. Tell me what I'm doing wrong."

"I don't know."

"Tell me what I can do better." Tears began to form in his eyes.

"I don't know."

"…Then tell me what Ty has that I don't?"

I looked up at him in shock, the tears were coming full force now. He knew, fuck of course he knew.

"Gunther, I… I'm sorry. I thought I could get over him. I really did."

"How long have you been planning to do this?" He asked, grinding his hands back into fist.

"Do what?"

"Break up with me! I'm not stupid Deuce. I knew this was coming."

"Then what was all that on the dance floor?" I asked, placing my hand on my chest. He laughed bitterly.

"I don't know. I just thought, maybe… maybe if we did it you'd come back to me. Sex was the only thing I could think of. I thought… I thought it would make you stay."

"Gunther I…that's not heathy. I know the thing with Logan was messed up but even if we did it and it was good that wouldn't make me want to stay. I've known since the game."

"What?"

"Since the football game. When you told me you loved me. When you said that, it all made sense. I realized that I was leading you on, that… that I can't love you as long as I'm still in love with Ty."

His eyes widened and he began to shake. I guess hearing me say it out loud was worse than just knowing it.

"Gunt-"

"No, you know what? Fuck this Deuce. Fuck you! I'm tired of being so understanding, so forgiving. I've done everything I can for you and you've treated me like dirt. I'm done." He headed towards the bathroom door.

"Goodbye Deuce."

I sat on the bathroom floor for what felt like an eternity. Gunther hated me, and he had every right to. It was my fault, I should have never agreed to go out with him while I still had feelings for Ty. I couldn't go back out there. There's no way someone couldn't tell Gunther was crying and everyone would know it was my fault. Guys had come in and out of the bathroom, but each had ignored my position on the floor and my tears on the floor. That is until I saw two feet in front of me.

"Deuce?" The familiar voice said,

"Ty." I said looking up.

"I was wondering where you were. Gunther walked out of the dance and didn't come back and you weren't with him. What's wrong? Why are your crying?"

"W-We… we broke up."

"What? Why? I'm gonna beat the shit out of that blonde-"

"No! It was my fault. I-I broke up with him."

He uncurled his fist before sitting next to me on the ground.

"Why'd you do that?" he asked, trying to wipe up my tears.

"Because…" I sighed. "Because of you." He put his hands up in defense.

"What? How is this my fault?"

I took a moment to look at him and all my feeling just poured out at once, I couldn't hold back anymore. I needed him to know.

"I still like you Ty, okay? I don't know why or how, but I do. I tried but can't get you out of my head. No matter what I do I still want you. I want us to boyfriends, I want-"

He placed his lips on mine, effectively shutting me up. I wanted to pull away, tell him that stuff was impossible for us but I lost all my will. I missed this, I needed this.

He leaned in closer putting his hand on my shoulder and I opened my mouth further, letting his tongue slip in. His free hand landed on the back of head as I used my own to pull him closer to me, desperately gripping onto his dress shirt. Finally after a few minutes, we pulled apart.

"W-what about Tinka?" I said, trying to catch my breath. He grinned.

"Were not together. We came as friends. I was about to tell you but you and Gunther went to go dance. To tell you the truth, we weren't real for most of it. I just wanted to make you jealous."

I choose to ignore that last part.

"Look, Ty."

"Yeah?"

"I-…I meant all that stuff I said."

"Yeah I know."

"But."

"But what?" I sighed.

"But I'm still not comfortable hiding a relationship." He frowned and I could feel him pull away from just a little.

"Deuce…"

"But if that's what you need, then I'll deal with it. Just, please don't get a girlfriend or treat me too differently around your friends. I can't be a secret or more like, too much of one okay?"

He nodded before giving me another kiss.

"I can do that. …So, you ready to head back out there?" he said standing up.

"Not really no." He laughed.

"Come on, there about to announce home coming king and queen."

"Yeah, now I'm defiantly not going out."

"This is the perfect time. No one will be focused on you. Come on, please?"

I sighed and got up from the floor.

"Okay."

"And your homecoming king is… Gunther Hessenheffer! ...Gunther?" The announcer waited and searched through the crowd before someone whispered in her ear that he was gone. "Oh, well in that case the runner up would be… Ty Blue! Come on up!"

Ty shrugged at me before heading up to the stage and accepting the crown on Gunther's behalf.

"And your homecoming queen…orshouldIsayking Deuce Martinez!"

No, no, no, it was supposed to Tinka or Rocky, what the heck? The crowed clapped while some tried to ask me where Gunther was. I walked up to the stage and politely accepted the crown before trying to walk back off. One of the people on the homecoming committee stopped me.

"Now for the dance. You two ready?" I shook my head no profusely as the crowd laughed at my misery.

"Wait can I say something?" Ty said to the girl.

"No you may not dance with your running mate. I don't care that Deuce is a boy, swallow your masculinity and dace with him." She glared. Ty smiled.

"That's not it."

She groaned but handed him the microphone anyway.

"Can I have your attention please?" the crowd slowly quieted down, looking up at the stage.

"What's going on?" Ty shushed before turning back towards the crowd.

"I've been lying… to all of you, for a while now. I've been so concerned about what people think of me that, that I almost let someone I really care about get away. I used excuses to make myself think that it was okay to keep lying or to make this person lie with me. That I couldn't play football or have friends unless I kept up this image but…"

Ty looked over to the crowd to see Gunther leaning against the wall. He was no longer crying and it seemed no one had noticed his reappearance yet.

"The person who really won this crown showed me differently. I done lying. I'm done hiding my feelings. Deuce… I love you."

The crowd gasped and murmuring soon followed. CeCe and Dina looked at me confused but I didn't say anything back to them.

"And I don't care if some of you don't like it, or don't like me anymore because of it. I'm going to keep playing football and love who I want. That's all." He said handing the microphone back the girl.

"Let's dance." He said.

I nodded and he grabbed my hands and placed the on my shoulders.

"We broke up!" Gunther yelled from the back. "It's okay to clap, I'm good!"

Everyone laughed and started to clap as the music played.

"You didn't have to do that."

"Yeah I did. You're a terrible liar."

"I could have pretended we weren't dating for a little while."

"Yeah right." Ty laughed. "Besides it wasn't for you. It was for me."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah. I want to be able to kiss you in public, hold your hand." He lifted one and gave it a kiss. "I think I need to be more like Gunther. If I was, I could have been with you from the start. He's a really smart guy."

"He is…"

"What's wrong?"

"I just… feel bad." Ty pulled me in for a hug.

"He'll heal in time. You'll just have make it up to him however you can."

"I know."

"Hey, let's not worry about him right now okay? Let's just enjoy us."

I nodded before giving him a kiss.

"Yeah. So when you said that you love me-"

"I meant it."

"You did?"

"Yes. That scare you?"

"No, I just… I wanted to tell you that too." Ty beamed.

"Then say it."

"No, it feels forced now."

"Say it."

"Uh-uh." Ty raised his hands up. "You wouldn't dare."

"I would."

"Were in public at a school dance."

"Don't care."

"Ty." He put his hands on my ribs. "Don't- hahaaha, stop it, q-quit it, oh my god ahaha fine! Fine! I love you, I love you."

He stopped, his face with a full smile.

"What was that?"

I kissed him.

"I love you, Ty Blue."

Me: Five years… it took me five years to finally finish this. This is what happens when I try to putt in effort instead writing whatever pops into my head. Anyway, thank you guys for reading. I know it probably wasn't worth the wait but I hope it was enjoyable none the less. Until next time.
