The trip to the Fortress was quick and Samantha was happy to see that her sister was there to welcome her. Although there was something different about the girl that she had rescued from the cage. Samantha couldn't quite put her finger on it, but she felt that it had something to do with the man beside her. There was just something between them, something Sam had never experienced and felt could not describe because of that.

There were so many warriors here that Samantha nearly turned and flew away once more, but she had her family here, her sisters; all four of them were here now. Why would she want to leave? She had nowhere else left to go, she had betrayed her father. What he would see as betrayal she saw as freeing.

Amun must have sensed her self conscious attitude and her fear for he came forth and wrapped his hand around her waist almost protectively. It was odd; it felt as though he was branding her, claiming hr in front of his friends. Did he do such a thing to save her life or because he felt she was his? Samantha didn't know, but she knew it did something to quell her fear. After all her family, The Hunters had been a blight upon the lives of these people, on the lives of these Lords.

As she and Amun stepped forth she noticed a warrior, Maddox, keeper of violence, hold his woman close before pushing her behind his back. He cared for her; he loved her and was more fearful of her being around an ex-Hunter than he was her being around the other four harpies. Was she… the woman was pregnant wasn't she? Guilt swam through Samantha's veins as she realised what her family would have done to this woman and her unborn children.

Sam turned toward Amun and watched as he frantically signed.

'Do not be scared, none here will harm you, I promise,' he told her and she sighed as she took a step towards them.

Those who did not know of her already, did not know of her sacrifice, took a step back and hugged their love ones close to them. She didn't want to hurt them, she just wanted to be with her family, wanted to be part of another family, a new family, where everything was just and fair and did not work in a way that suited the leader the best. Here it seemed as though there was no leader, as though they were all happy to give ideas and to talk things through between them. Father had no been like that. Nevertheless Samantha felt that she should reassure them.

'My name is Samantha Lord, I was once a Hunter, once your enemy, but after discovering the truth Galen hid from me, discovering what he really was,' – the devil – 'I swear fealty to him no longer.' As she spoke she pulled her sleeve up her arm and showed them all her arm, the one already healed from the moment she'd torn the tattoo from her wrist. Though she knew he was evil, she still didn't want to believe it. He'd always seemed so pure, so good, who wouldn't want to rid the world of demons? But she had come to realise that these men were not demons, they only harboured them.

'Did she say Lord?' A whisper reached her ears and she nodded. What matter did the name have? What importance did it hold, for they had seemed fascinated by it? Lord was the name her "angel" of a father had been given but he was more demonic than these men and women before her.

'No Ashlyn.' Another voice chided as a woman with beautiful golden hair and a pale complexion step from behind the man who was clearly her lover.

'It's alright, she is not bad,' Ashlyn voice and Maddox looked at her with genuine confusion. 'I can hear her thoughts she wishes us no harm, she merely wants to be a part of our family,' the woman continued as she approached Samantha and took her hand, the one Amun didn't already hold.

'But she's a Hunter!'

'Ex-Hunter, as I was, if you banish her from her family then you are hypocritical because you accepted me. We should all make Amun's woman Samantha feel comfortable whilst she's here. And her family as well of course.' Ashlyn was so motherly and Samantha could see from the slight swell of the woman's stomach that she was carrying a baby and smiled. She would make a great mother.

'And we want her here, so if you want to fight us then bring it. Nobody separates a Harpy from her sister,' Kaia announced and Samantha warmed to the sister even more. Wow to go from being an only child one day, to having an identical twin, to being a sister of five.

As she watched, Gwen stepped away from Sabin and head over to her sisters.

'We will talk about your imprisonment later Gwen,' Bianka hissed as though she was disappointed in the sister. But that was gone when a moment later all four sisters bared their fangs and their claws, wings protruding from their back.

'So, do you want to go?' Taliyah asked to which Maddox dragged his woman back and shook his head.

'We meant no insult,' he informed them and the other Lords nodded their heads agreeing. Wow, even these demon possessed men were frightened by her family, they were stronger, she was stronger than she could have ever imagined.

'Neither did we; girls play nice,' Samantha told her sisters who sheathed their claws and wings and smiled obligingly at the Lords.

'About time, geez, you'd think you were the devil's daughter or something,' Kaia said as she confidently made her way into the fortress, pushing past the Lords who had barred their way previously. And they merely stepped back as though not wishing to affront her any longer.
