They had taken Emma to Snow's castle and allowed Regina to stay with them as well, it was much to their annoyance that as soon as Emma regained consciousness she had again lashed out at her parents, yet had seemed mildly calmer around the dark Queen.
'I just don't know what to do.' Snow said as she flung herself in her chair. She had called Blue and Red to her chambers to discuss the matter of the curse. 'Are you sure that there is nothing that you can do?' she directed the question to the Blue fairy, the ex-mother superior had conducted every test that she could think of, under the watchful eye of Regina who would not leave her blonde's side, the only thing that she could confirm was that Emma and Regina were each other's true loves.
'There is nothing that can be done; she will rave like a mad beast until it consumes her completely.'
'Hey!' Red snapped, 'less of the mad beast please. This is Emma that we're talking about and we need to help her, if we truly can't do anything then the least we can do is give her the respect that she deserves.'
'I just don't know what to do Red.' Snow mumbled.
'Leave her with Regina. They both want to be near each other so I don't see it being that much of a problem. Let's face it, if anyone is going to cure Emma it'll be her.'
'I'm not leaving my daughter with that woman.' Snow spat. 'If anything she should stay with the people who love her and you'll be able to help her as well.'
'Regina does love her, if there is anything that these past few weeks have shown us is that she has completely changed and is head over heels in love. And what exactly do you mean that I'll be able to help her as well?' Red had an idea what the other woman meant but wanted to see if she would actually say it.
'You know what I mean; you've got a lot in common with her now. I'm surprised that she hasn't connected with you already.'
'To start with Emma is ill not a wolf and secondly my wolf is not feral, I control it now and if you still think I'm dangerous or anything after all I've done for you then you need to rethink a lot of things.'
Red slammed her way out of the room and started to make her way to the savour's chambers. When she turned the corner she saw Regina pacing in front of the door.
'Regina, you okay?'
'No, this imbecile won't let me in and I can't feel Emma anymore.'
'They've had Blue dampen your magic whilst you're here, that's why you can't feel her and why you can't use any of your magic either.' Red explained to the frantic woman as why she could no longer feel her true love. 'There are protections around Emma's room so you can't enter without a member of the royal council.'
'I won't hurt her.' Regina sobbed.
'I know,' Red muttered. 'I'm so sorry that this is happening to the two of you. Luckily I am a member of council so we can go see your girl.'
Red nodded to the guard, watching him move aside as the enchantments were lifted and the two women could pass through.
Regina rushed through but stopped suddenly in the middle of the room. 'Where is she?' The room was empty but there had been an obvious struggle as the furniture was thrown everywhere.
'You heard her, where is the Princess?'
The guard smirked a little and gestured for them to follow him. He led them to the dungeon steps.
Regina nearly lost it when she saw where they were going, 'why are we going down here?'
The guard remained silent and carried on walking down the steps, along the dark and draughty corridor until they came to a heavy wooden door. 'Orders,' he gruffed, 'the little girl got herself worked up and attacked the queen as well as me and my men, we were told to take her here to calm down and use any force necessary.'
Regina paled but bit back her anger for a moment, she had physical strength but wasn't sure she would be able to take the guard out, especially considering that she wasn't sure if Red would support her or not. 'Who ordered this?'
The guard smirked at her but remained silent as he started to unlock the door.
'She asked you a question.' Red snarled.
'The queen,' he threw the door open and stepped back. The other two rushed into the room but stopped dead in their tracks. On the floor was Emma, she was stripped naked and could see that she had been severely whipped and beaten. Her arms were chained behind her back and her shoulder was held at a grotesque angle, obviously dislocated. 'She put up a fight,' the guard said as he stared at the woman on the floor. 'She didn't like being chained or stripped.'
'Why would you do this?' Regina whispered, she moved over to her lover who was softly whining like an injured pup.
'The little bitch had it coming to her.' He growled as he grabbed his belt buckle forgetting who he was with. 'She turned me down three times before the curse broke.'
Red's hand shot out and grabbed him by the throat before he had the chance to say anything else. 'Consider yourself dismissed.' She growled as she ripped his throat out, letting him slump to the floor.
Regina heard the thud of the body but didn't turn from Emma. The other woman was lying on her stomach facing away from them, very softly and with gentle whispers of comfort and love Regina turned her love over so she could see the damage that had been caused. Her torso was in the same mess as her back, covered in bruises and bloodied wounds. 'Oh my love, what have they done to you?' Emma stared at Regina for a moment until, with what little movement she could with her chains, she threw herself at the other woman and nuzzled into her lap with a whimper. Sitting on the floor with her arms wrapped around her blonde she started to weep, 'please help us,' she asked Red who was still in a state of shock. 'I haven't got access to my magic and I need to get her out of here.'
'Where do you want to go?'
'Out of here would be nice.' Regina started stroking the blooded hair and lent down to kiss her head. 'I just want to take her home but I know that's not an option.'
'I'll take you.' Red said suddenly.
'What?'
'Well she can't stay here, I'm not happy with the way things are and the safest place for her is with you not here in the castle and look at her, 'she gestured down to Emma who had curled up as tight as she could into Regina, 'you're her home.'
The two women looked at each other for a few moments then back at the hurt saviour; they were not alone for long when they heard an annoying flapping of tiny wings. The Blue Fairy hurtled towards them with Snow hot on her heals.
'There has been a murder!' the small woman squeaked. 'Red, arrest the Evil Queen.'
Red stood in front of the two women who were on the floor. 'It was me who killed the guard not Regina, so I'd stand down if I were you.'
Snow barrelled into the room and stared at her friend, 'why would you do something like that? He was a good man with a family.'
'He was a disgrace and he hurt Emma, that is why I did what I did and if you were any sort of mother you would have never ordered him to use force on your own daughter.' Red stepped aside so that the fairy and Snow could see Emma still curled up on Regina's lap whimpering and whining because of the pain that she was in. 'Look what he did, just because he had some twisted view of what his orders where. Now you are going to unbind Regina's magic and we are taking Emma out of here, she is not safe if everyone thinks they have free reign to attack her.'
'I never told them to do this; I only told them that she may have to be restrained. Where are you taking her?' Snow asked quietly.
'To my cottage,' Regina's voice was so soft and gentle so she didn't startle the blonde. 'I want you to keep Henry here though, she needs space and he may be harmed by her if he is at the cottage with us, that's something that neither of us wants. You're welcome to come and see her whenever you want but please let me know in advance.'
Snow just looked startled at the two women on the floor, she was starting to see that Regina was right, she had never ordered this, she had told the guards to secure Emma to keep everyone safe but she hadn't authorised this level of brutality. If her guards thought that they could have their way with Emma just because she was cursed then she truly was not safe with them. Nodding at Blue to unbind Regina's powers she watched in awe as the dark queen kept on soothing her daughter but this time with her magic back she was also removing her chains, healing her body and clothing the young woman.
'I want to be in the know at all times, do you hear me?' Snow could not believe that she was letting her daughter go again but just by looking at the way Regina was gently caring for her and that Emma was letting her made her decision easier. If she was going to get her Emma back then it seemed that the only way was to let Regina take her away.
'Agreed and the same goes for you with Henry, I'm trusting you with my son, don't let me down.'
Snow gave a sad smile turning to leave the room she paused for a moment, 'I'll let you settle but I'll contact you in three days to see how things are going. Take care of her Regina.' With that Snow left taking Blue with her.
Red watched the two leave the room then moved over to where Regina was sat, 'I'd say that was our cue to leave wouldn't you?'
'Yes, I don't want to startle Emma anymore so just let me make her drowsy then I'll transport us out of here.'
'I don't think you'll have to do much, look at her.' Red nodded down to the blonde who was fast asleep in the other woman's lap making soft murmuring noises from the back of her throat in time with the light strokes running through her hair. 'You might not be able to break this curse Regina, but I think she'll be a lot happier away from here and with you around.'
Regina just smiled down at the love of her life as she swirled them all in her purple mist to transport them home.
